I keep forgetting to post my days here.

I've had a lot of good ones lately.

I mean, no explosions or zombies or nuthin', but tons of interesting stuff that I've been too lazy to share here.

So, yeah.

Ok, so I'm basically still awake right now because I was doing my Sound Design homework.

Two hours later and I have most of my sounds done... I can only do some more tomorrow because I need to record sounds of cars and chattering from people.

My God, I never knew creating sounds could be so hard. I have a really deep new found respect for sound design teams in movies and music and video games and... everything sound related.

I'm up because I can't get to sleep.

That reminded me... last night, my room mate must hate me so much for making so many random noises last night. He hasn't said anything, and he probably won't, but still.

Yeah, last night, I dropped my camera's tiny Memory Stick Pro Duo on the ground.

At like 3AM.

And lost it.

So I turned on my lamp and spent about 15 minutes rummaging around on the floor for it, moving my desk and chair and such.

NO CONSIDERATION FOR MY ROOMMATE, RIGHT.

I get back from football games at 2 or 3 in the morning.

I don't really care if I wake up my room mate.

I don't ever want a roommate at all. Especially not a dude. I don't want to ruin things by living with a friend, and I don't want to live some random guy because it's more likely I'll hate a random guy than a random gal. Really I just need to be off the wall balls rich so I can live alone in a studio apartment in Eagle Rock until I get married and live in some house off Mulholland.

Really, I just want my own space for a while, I could roommate later or whatever but right it's just not in my headspace.

Haha "The Kings", as if.

At least they're not the Leafs.

You say that as if I like the Leafs at all.

My first room mate was an OK guy, but so dirty and smelly you couldn't be in the same room with him for too long.

The second dude was extremely clean and military, and seemed OK but talked on the cell phone all the time.

Third guy was good to talk to, but had the most annoying friends of all time. And they sucked at Halo.
I'm horrible at the game, but I was actually beating them two on one.
He also had a hookah or some ##### like that, and I didn't care to smell burning ??? all day. But he was OK with not using it in the main room, so eh.

In each case it was a dorm apartments and everyone slept in separate rooms, so it was bearable to that extent.

(I was the guy who'd go to sleep early and rarely ever talk to anyone in the room, but also rarely complain about anything).

On one hand I hope I never have to repeat the experience.
On the other hand I wish I had roomed up with my buddies the second year.

I got lucky. My roommate and I get along great, and we're part of the same social group since we're both on the drumline. Hell, I don't know HOW it worked out, but I play Bass 4 and he plays Bass 5, so we're even right next to each other on the drumline. It's insane.

Right now, there are two residence life employees high-fiving about this.

My room mate stays in his room all day watching anime.

Everyday.

He seems like a nice guy but I can't get over the fact how extremely dirty he is. I hate going into the kitchen and I almost never leave my plates in the sink.

Well, they're doing a great job.

Though honestly, there are a LOT of people in my dorm who I would #####ing HATE to have as a roommate. And I mean HATE.

I'm glad my roommate is clean, because I'd go crazy if he was messy. I mean, I have no sense of smell so he has the luxury of farting whenever he wants to. But I mean more in tidiness.

Everyone says we have the cleanest room.

Well, heheh... I don't mean to brag...

Honestly, though, its nothing to brag about, but I, as a man, probably have the cleanest room in the dorm.

Well, my room room, not the entire apartment. My friends were WTF'd when they saw how clean my room is compared to the kitchen.

I've been feeling really really sick lately. So much I haven't been able to function at work. I wake up and I can't eat anything until around lunch otherwise I'll get major cramps, I'm dizzy almost all the time, and I constantly feel this pressure around my ears. If this doesn't go away by Halloween I'm going to the doctor. (No, I am NOT pregnant so don't ask- seriously everyone I talked to about this automatically asked this.)

Other than feeling sick, today has been pretty good so far despite it being too damn early. (8:45 am) My friend was a real pal and bought me a Monster energy drink. I've never had an energy drink before, so I don't know how this will affect me.

So, yeah. People on campus write on the sidewalk and ground and courtyard areas with chalk all the time, to advertise upcoming events like movies they're showing or just to make statements or let you know about groups and clubs.

Well, lately there's a bunch of "Vote Obama" or "Vote McCain" chalk drawings. On the way to an exam the other morning, I noticed at least 20 variations of "Vote McCain," and most of them were all in one area.

On the way BACK from the exam, it was clear that somebody had gone and "fixed" all of these scrawlings by adding in words like "Don't" in front of "Vote McCain" and such.

So, today, I go out and see something pretty funny.

There's a place where it just says "Don't Not Not Not Not Vote for Not Not McCain in Not '08" or something to that effect.

And lastly, I found some chalk of my own and wrote "Toy Story 2 was okay" nearby.

Also "Vote McCain/Fey."

Even though I don't necessarily know who I'm voting for, I just felt that would be too good not not not to write.

I have an Obama 2008 t-shirt.
...
It was a gift.
...

Anyway I got leave work an hour early today and other stuff so I used the time to start colouring some art. I'm gonna have a new computer at work when I get there on monday, which'll be cool.

In Quebec, there's a lot of different kinds of first nations people and areas and stuff. And my last pile of work (which my boss, as was leaving, said that when I finished I could just go home instead of finding more work for the day) had to do with them.

I really like all the aboriginal names of places and stuff, but when you're typing it gets really annoying trying to write words like "Kangiqsualujjuaq" and "Umiujaq" (yes, those are real) so it was weird. On the plus side most of these places have postal codes that are like "J0Y1X0" and "J0Y3B0" which I pretend says "Joy" and has a little funny face next to it.

And there's place called "Quaqtaq" which I read as "Quack attack" and loved it.

Also in Quebec there's some (but not most, as they are mostly in north New Brunswick) Acadian towns. Acadians, in a nutshell, are another type of french people that live in Canada and tend to act like they're better french people than the Quebecois when really France doesn't want either of them back so they can both stop talking about better they are than the other. But it was weird because all of a sudden I've have to do something with a place Lebel-sur-Quévillon and I've to change my entire way of thinking to start spelling in french.

I woke up this morning realizing that John McCain was literally 2 miles away from me.

If I had a ticket, I would've went to seen him. My Speech teacher in the morning would gladly let me skip his class for politics.

And lastly, I found some chalk of my own and wrote "Toy Story 2 was okay" nearby.

Heheh.

I've had the same iPod since the WEEK the first wave of first-EVER video iPods came out.

Seems like ages ago now.

But yeah, it was my first iPod, it's been stolen twice and retrieved twice, been through hell in wear-and-tear, and it still works fine.

My brother's been through 4 iPods and lost his iPod Touch and to this day can't find it. He refuses to use his other ones because they're outdated. He sickens me when he acts like that.

I still don't need or want a new iPod until mine croaks, and I doubt it will because I take care of my goods. I mean, aside from it being stolen twice.

I use it all the time.

I got it either late Freshman year or early Sophomore year, whenever it came out.

It's almost never not on my person. I've gone through #####-tons of cheap-ass headphones but the iPod remains in perfect working condition. Battery usually lasts about 4-5 hours, I'd estimate.

I haven't put a video on it in about 2 years now, I only use it for music. But I used to watch Lost on it.

Oh, I thought you said "first ever iPods before", missing the video part. Which would make it much older.

Still, 4-5 hours isn't very good...

Not at all.. my iPod lasts/lasted about half a day if I use it non stop. I know this because I forgot to turn it off one time, slipped it in my pocket and when I took it out it was on red.

I can't trust the battery meter.

Like, one minute it'll be low red, almost dead, and the next minute it'll be full green again.

I've never actually tested. 4-5 hours sounded right but now it doesn't.

Thinking about it now, I rarely ever charge it.

I found the iPod's battery meter to be completely unreliable, but then again that was two generations ago so I can't speak for the current gen.

My current player, a lovely little Creative ZEN that is as sturdy as a brick (and therefore more suitable for klutz Fatso who drops ##### all over the place than an iPod), has a little bit of that battery-meter unreliability, but not NEARLY to the same extent as the iPod did.

And the screen is better.

And there's no proprietary software.

And it's better in just about every aspect.

So yeah.

They should have a battery timer, it'd say how much time you got before you die out. That way you know when your song is gonna stop half way, instead of walking and jamming and then *blip!* it's dead..

My iPod is also stubborn when turning off, sometimes I have to toggle the hold switch and then turn it off. Hopefully the new gens'll have none of that shenanigans.

So, last night I had to go see some play with my First Year Experience class. It's basically a blow-off class for Freshmen to take that sort of gets you used to college life. They try to get you to go some events on campus, so the teacher arranged that we all go to see this play the drama department was putting on.

I was kind of mad because there was other stuff I wanted to do last night, but holy #####.

That was a REALLY good play.

It was called "Our Lady of 121st Street" so I was expecting absolutely nothing worthy of my time.

It turned out to be really great, and the actors were REALLY good to boot. Someone was even playing a mentally handicapped character, which is something I've never gotten to see live, and ever since Tropic Thunder can't normally take seriously. There were also two gay characters and some male-male saliva exchanges, but I'm assuming they're both gay in real life, anyway. It's a solid assumption.

What impressed me was how great the play was with blending comedy and drama. Because it was actually really funny, but whoever wrote it had a GREAT understanding of how to use the comedy to build up to a really dramatic moment and switch between both seamlessly. It was really a great play.

I only care so much because I was expecting a waste of a night.

When I was in university I usually took the time to go see plays when I could.
They were free admission for students, so I figured why not.

Never had a wasted evening like that.

I usually have stuff going on every night anyway, but if students got in free I'd probably go to a couple more.

Yeah, they made us pay. Even when it was mandatory for a class.

We get into pretty much everything else for free, though. All sporting events, and anything at Miller Auditorium, which brings in big shows like Last Comic Standing and Video Games Live.

Uhm. OK. The last time I went there I was like 12 and I realized I was too old for it.

Except for when the guy comes at you with a real #####ing chainsaw and that's actually got everything on it and is completely running and you know because you just saw him cut his way through a corn field/tall grass to get to you yet he still waves it around at kids dangling their legs off the hayride thing and no one thinks this might be dangerous since kids are almost completely stupid in such situations and might stick a digit or something out where it shouldn't be.

They've probably x-ed that part out since I was a kid but... Yeah. That was #####ed up. The rest of the Haunted Hayride? Too old. At 12.
