It was only a matter of time. Just make sure your wife plays lots of classic Mega Man speedruns for him while he's growing in her tumtum. Gives them a little boost in the ol' brain development. There's no science behind it but I think it should work.

Congrats, Mike!

Everyone at my work and in my family has had Covid between Thanksgiving and now. I got out of quarantine 2 days before Christmas, and my wife tested positive a couple days after. It's tough out there, even for those with shots/booster. Thankfully I only lost taste and smell for a few days.

🤷‍♂️ People around here just don't care any more. Even with all the precautions my wife and I take, we couldn't escape it. Thankfully it's just an inconvenience for us right now.

So I got prescribed Zoloft by my doctor. I haven't told many people about it, but I finally decided to do something about my mental health instead of slapping on a band-aid of seeing a therapist every 8-10 years. My brain has finally shut up, and I've started waking up at 7 AM without an alarm AND I have energy. Is this what normal people feel like? I'll still be seeing a therapist in early April, but it feels good to have finally got the ball rolling.

Just got WiFi at my new place.

It's a top floor apartment in a rural part of a town in southern Ontario.

I have a view of a sunrise, the town's water tower, and a garbage-laden landscape of yellow grass where the most interesting thing you'll see is a seagull being flung across the sky by the wind.

Got a promotion so I can afford it.
Kind of.
My combined income with my wife really does not take us as far as I thought it would. We thought we would be paying off a mortgage at this point, but ##### happens.

But it's really nice, and it's really quiet. And I might just be able to actually focus on things, walk more, and probably start eating healthier because we don't have to share a kitchen. I guess we'll see!

I really should also talk to a doctor about zoloft or something similar.

I already really like the new job I'm in, but I feel like I could do this work all day. Curious how I would have felt if I was still working retail IT. Everything feels more manageable now instead of a huge spiral of despair, and it's not a constant focus of being a #####-up and self-hatred. I feel generally chill and I've noticed I've started eating less (a potential side effect of Zoloft).

It's definitely been an eventful year this year, hoo boy

For those who don't know, I'm now waiting on the results of my disability hearing back in November. I'm really hoping it pans out because the way things are now is very unsustainable 🙃
