These were barely more expensive than the regular versions. Like a difference of four bucks.

The regular Hulk (which sounds like a horrible tite, actually. Like I'd want to see or read "The Regular Hulk". Like Issue #1, he has a coffee and reads the paper. Issue #2, The Hulk picks up the kids from Mommy & Me, etc. But I'm rambling..) cover sucks, and so does the regular Iron Man. The second Iron Man (which I guess is the special edition) is only OK, and then the Future Shop Exclusive special edition is the steelbook, which is nice.

Yeah, special edition DVD's are usually $4-5 more expensive, which isn't that much. I usually go for them. But lately that's the difference between buying one more $10 movie from the bargain bin, which I'd usually rather opt for.

I don't usually care, but if it's not much more I'll get the better version. I'm kind of filmmaker so that stuff tends to be worth it sometimes.

Tip: Never buy a movie in Fullscreen. It's actually a bastardized version of the movie from a directorial standpoint.

My parents NEVER understood that. They always buy movies in Fullscreen, and they make a big deal about it, too. They've returned movies because they accidentally bought them in Widescreen.

Ugh.

Usually I don't make a point to get either one, and just whatever I end up with is what I get because I'm not thinking about it. But if I see both NEXT to each and have the option, I always go for Widescreen.

Yeah my mom doesn't get it either but I'm the one who buys DVDs so whatever.

See, when you chop off the sides like that you actually ruin EVERY #####ING SHOT IN THE MOVIE because nothing is put anywhere without a purpose in a shot, so Fullscreen full-on fully ruins what the director was trying to do.

Yep. As soon as I got really into movies and how they're made, it bothered me when my parents did that. Because at first I didn't really care or understand what the big difference was anyway.

My father has always been on top of technology and stuff.
If we got a movie in fullscreen, it was returned immediately and swapped for a widescreen version (assuming that was the original ratio).

Our TV is now widescreen HD because of this.

I hate full screen.

I hate getting movies as gifts and having them in full screen. Like Mike said, it ruins every damned shot.

Similar to ASR, I used to not mind full-screen movies.

I thought, "This is nice."

Then I watched wide-screen.

I thought, "This is nice."

Then I watched full-screen again.

"Ew."

I'll watch full screen movies on TV and cringe half the time over the fact that whole characters are talking with everything other than their nose and lips completely off screen. The rule of thirds is used for a reason and #####ing full screen rips that to shreds.

It's also a direct mapping of the common ratio between vertical and horizontal view for your own eyes.

It's been a while since I've picked up Super, I'm going by Zero Mission on this one.

Even in ZM, it's only one super missile. They've always been worth five missiles.

Oh, I'm not sure I remember if I was around when you guys were talking about it or what, but what were your opinions on that new Indiana Jones movie? I never saw it.

A link to the posts or something would suffice since I can't seem to find them.

The only cool part was Indie in a fridge.

And that was also the part that made me realize this movie is NOT what Indie should be.

Went with three friends to see Saw V earlier today. I just got back from it.

And guess what? By the way V ended, another installment will no doubt be made.

New Watchmen trailer with some great new footage, but a lot of it is the same from the last trailer.

But trust me, enough new footage to get you even more excited.

I watched the trailer with a smile on my face.

My ONLY complaint is Ozymandias. He looks like a scrawny nerd compared to his buff manly look in the comic.

I never read Watchmen.
I don't even know who the characters are.

From that perspective, I'm having a lot of trouble finding a reason to watch it.

Watchmen is a really good graphic novel, practically a must read. I didn't know about it until the trailer, I didn't care too much for the trailer, but I started hearing exclamations of how good the book is, so I borrowed it.

The trailer doesn't really look that good to me, just visually interesting. But I still want to watch it.

I don't know if it's OK that I watched that while wearing an Iron Man mask.

Seeing any bit of trailer since reading the graphic novel again, I realize I'm disturbed by how young and fit everyone is. Particularly Nite Owl. And in a sense, Laurie coming down the stairs. That look is fine for the flashbacks to when they tried making that second hero team but... She should be a lot more... Ice cold? Hard? Statuesque? Whatever, I can't see her from the comic and her from the movie being the same person in that scene.

I can deal with

I started reading it before the movie was even announced but the trailer is the reason why I bought and finished it.

Same here. Well, not entirely. The trailer did respark my interest but I'd always meant to finish it and wanted to. Really, the trailer just gave me the urgency to do it.

I only knew about it because Simon Pegg once mentioned it on a commentary or something I had watched.

And when I saw the trailer, I thought it was really cool and heard everyone raving about it online so I got off my ass and read it.

I already told everyone here the reason why I started reading it.

But it was annoying... my dad made me read it at Chapters where I only had an hour to do so, barely a chapter's worth. He offered me to read his original comics but I didn't want to ruin them by mistake...

When the trailer was announced I decided to buy it so I didn't have to go through Chapters to read it. And well, it's worth it. I can see myself reading it a few more times down the road.

I just lent my copy out again today, I think it's the fourth time.

I really wish people would buy it themself.

I seem to always be lending out Hitchhiker's Guide and this nowadays. Also Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

I've lent Watchmen out twice, when I only lent it out intentionally once to my friend Brian and his roomate slash my friend Shawn's girlfriend decided she was going to borrow it after Brian and still probably hasn't begun to read it. I've reports that it is often "on the floor" and I'm not exactly pleased.

Now then. What Watchmen covers do you guys have, anyway? I have the only good cover the collection has.

Good. The smiley face button cover, really. Which is the only good one. The rest are actually utterly awful.

I'm the same way with other people's things as Majikn. But I can't really think of anyone who respects my stuff.

I have the yellow smiley face with blood cover, too.

As far as other people taking care of my stuff, it's ranged from people getting kicked out of military school while borrowing a bunch of my DVD's and not returning them... to taking perfect care of things... all the way to someone damaging my copy of Hitchhiker's Guide and buying me a brand new one to make up for it.
