Nah. This was the kind of woman that if I'd said that to her she yell at me to ##### off and I really didn't need to be the person making MORE noise.

R?

A Yahoo Canada site said R, but I'm thinking it was 18A. Still it seems to be per province so you're probably right. But still.

Anyway it's actually cool that you guys have employees get rid of such people. I mean, I've never seen ANYONE get taken out of a theatre for such things here, and I've had people seriously yelling and kicking the back of my seat during Scary Movie 4. It was just astounding enough that I was AT that movie, and then the dumbass chicks behind me were actually scared/startled? Are you kidding me?

Someone brought a baby to my showing but it only cried out twice and we just thought it was crazy that someone would bring a baby to The Hangover. It wasn't annoying, though, so it was fine.

Yeah that would've been fine.

Had I been annoyed enough, I would've told them to stop, and if they didn't listen, I'd leave to inform an employee or something about the issue. I really can't stand people ruining crap like that. If it was bad enough, I'd ask if I could just leave and come back to review it free of charge or something.

I've never encountered that problem though, but I rarely go out to see movies anyway.

Haha, I won't even leave a movie to take a piss no matter HOW bad I have to go, let alone to inform a theater employee that someone's being a douchebuckle.

It doesn't happen often because I don't think people report it often. But there are checks that need to be done every half an hour and you can hear WHISPERING all the way from the top row... the only problem is it may be hard to pinpoint who's making the noise. And you have to disrupt a lot of people further to get involved.

I had to deal with a mentally disabled guy making noise. I couldn't even communicate with him. It was ridiculous. He had a supervisor that I eventually found but from then the person complaining about them was still a bitch.

I went and saw Up on Friday night for Emili's birthday. She and I both agree that, while it wasn't a BAD movie, it was easily the weakest Pixar film that we'd ever seen. The villain was rather gray, all the funniest moments were in the preview, and the idea of this guys dead wife is hanging over his head the whole time (symbolically that's exactly what the house was) was gave the whole movie a melancholy tone that tinged even its funnier moments.

I had to watch Airplane! afterword to remind myself that REAL comedy once existed.

Weakest Pixar movie is definitely Cars. A Bug's Life is down there, too.

Really? I thought it was magnificent and a great (if not perfect) mix of drama, action, and comedy. It's officially one of my favorite Pixar movies ever.

I don't think I have any complaints. It was pretty clever.

EDIT: Directed at Edge.

I liked it, aside from the concept. It's been done before by Disney.

Comedy was a little on the stale side too.

I said it was the weakest that we had seen.

We skipped A Bugs Life, Cars, and Ratatouille.

Ratatouille rocks. I skipped it in theaters because it looked lame and I was at the point where I didn't really think Pixar was capable of another hit.

I watched it on DVD later and loved it.

I saw Up just today (Sunday) actually. The villain WAS pretty gray.

I was okay with the tone of the movie. But it was rather strange in that it seemed like a kid's movie made for adults to appreciate, I don't feel like most kids would care for this movie very much. But of course I didn't mind, I liked it because I AM an adult.

I liked A Bug's Life when I was much younger. I didn't see Cars or Ratatouille though. I really wasn't interested in Cars at all, and I am pretty surprised that it's a Pixar movie given their track record in my eyes.

It was definitely made more for adults with just lots of pretty colours and a freaky deaky bird for the kids, actually.

I should note that I never saw Cars because I knew it was weak, and I was right. I didn't see Ratatouille either but that's just because a fellow animation student wouldn't shut up about it for soooo long that I didn't want to see it anymore.

I never took a good look at A Bug's Life because I liked Antz and was team Antz which is stupid because while I enjoyed the movie the ant science of it is totally bogus. And I'm not talking about obvious things like them talking or wearing hats.

When there was only promo stuff for Meet The Robinsons at the animation festival, I was really into it. But I never saw it because it ended up looking kind of lame, or somehow... 90's, even though it's future or something. My point is I don't usually watch any of the 3D animated stuff by anybody unless I know it's going to be pretty good, because otherwise they tend to be the same washed stuff. Cars is only different because instead of a talking animal they're cars, big #####ing deal. The only reason I saw Kung-Fu Panda was because the game was forced into my possession, and I didn't think it was as good as people said.

Right, but I remember cartoons.

(Maybe I should have specified that)

I don't remember a Disney short about cars.

Unless you count the one about Goofy driving and while it was awesome NO I DON'T COUNT IT.

Kung-Fu Panda looked awful. Meet the Robinsons actually looked really good, and I loved that part from the trailer with the T-Rex ("you know, T-Rex arms!"), but I never saw it. Maybe I should check it out.

Antz was cool, yeah. And Shrek. I also liked Bolt, though that IS Disney, just not Pixar.

Any other movie with talking animals that isn't Pixar, I have skipped entirely, from Over the Hedge to Madagascar to that dancing penguin movie.

Shrek sucks.

I hate all things Madagascar for a few reasons, and I fell asleep watching Over The Hedge at my friends house because it was boring. I never saw Happy Feet because it looked like it was 100% gimmick, banking on the popularity of March Of The Penguins.

Ahahaha, oh my god, this is so weird. How did I not know it was this weird when I was younger?

The CGI head of Felix in the opening, that villain with the silver helmet thing, those robot things, that high-pitched golden teardrop ("Oriana!")... oh man.

EDIT: Ugh, the sounds out-of-sync for all the parts, not just the first one like I'd assumed. Oh well.

No, it was some other short about how some car didn't want to be scrapped so he ran away or something. Don't quote me on that, because I don't really remember.

But the movie CARS just by the look of movie poster looked exactly like that short.

This triggered some sort of nostalgia alarm in my brain so I think he's right.

It might've been from around the time Disney was tacking on animated shorts to their live-action movies in the 90's, like the Roger Rabbit ones to Honey I Shrunk The Kids!

I was thinking (mark the calendar) recently that I can't wait 'til they start remaking commercials into movies. I hope they start with Where's The Beef? and that Sketchers one where they only show shoes the whole time at a restaurant.

Hoveround: Revenge of the Fallen might actually be good.

I also want a movie version of that old identity theft commercial from the late 90's with the family living on the streets "because our son gave out our credit card information on the internet!"

"I said I was sorry!"

"GO TO YOUR BOX!"

(I can't find this on Youtube!)

I saw Land of the Lost the other day. I thought it was pretty funny, but there was no way in hell that this would have made its budget back even with proper marketing. I'll be picking it up on DVD.

I'm going to see Year One later this afternoon.

These are my recent DVD purchases:

American Gangster (3-disc)
Fearless (Unrated)
From the Earth to the Moon
The International
Newsies

I'm glad to see my library's DVD collection is finally growing. When I came here I started donating some good titles, and the library has finally picked up with their purchasing. So far I've donated:

Appaloosa
Apollo 13
From the Earth to the Moon - Complete Series
The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
The Last King of Scotland
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Newsies
No Country for Old Men
The Right Stuff
Street Kings

I know I've said this before, but it's worth repeating:

If you like philosophy, watch Waking Life. There's so much in there I wouldn't even know where to start.

All I know is that it would be soooooooooo cool if the movies conjecture about the afterlife was true.
