Yeah, it sucked.  Apparently in the 50's the government came up with cool trendy nicknames for different types of psychics. Like bleeders and sniffers and pushers.  But all that amounts to is a couple scenes with floating guns and a drunk Dakota Fanning.  I would gladly walk back to the Starplex and ask for my money and my life back if I could.  I would never recommend it.

Unless inebriated 13-year-old girls is your thing.

It looked intriguing. I really thought it looked awful at first, then I saw a bit more into it and it started to look cool, but I wasn't going to go to see it anyway.

Holy #####. Holy ##### I love Die Hard movies. But if there's any movie from the 80's that actually holds up completely to this day, it's the first Die Hard. Like, holy #####. It's not dated, everything still looks real, the story isn't predictable. I mean, everything is just as awesome now as it was then, and yet you couldn't make this movie today if you tried. It just, it just really #####ing holds up.

Die Hard. Go watch it if you haven't seen it, and if you have (you should have) go watch it again.
Now I just want to rewatch the other ones, even Live Free Or Die Hard which wasn't as good as the others (my favourite is Die Hard With A Vengeance) but was still enjoyable.

I'm so #####ing ecstatic that I decided to pop in Die Hard tonight.

Die Hard also has the added bonus of being a fun-filled family Xmas movie, as well.

The last movie I saw in a theatre was The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.
I'll read back later to see if anyone else watched it, but it was a strange little movie nonetheless.

I saw it too, and I thought it was really good but I won't watch it again for a looonnng time.
Kind of like how I have no ambition to see Titanic ever again (except I didn't like Titanic nearly as much).

For me, watching Die Hard tonight was like watching Raiders Of The Lost Ark or The Empire Strikes Back except without all the "Wow obvious special effects from back in the day" stuff. So really, it was like me watching Desperado. 'Cause I'm just caught up in the ride. Totally shook.

Ah, I didn't see it back then. But we did a DVD screening of all the Die Hard movies just before the fourth one came out. I was happy to have come along to see them.

Maybe you'll consider it a crappy movie today, yes, but It's part of my childhood.

I like Space Jam just about as much as I liked Toy Story, Lion King, etc.

Toy Story, The Lion King, and A Goofy Movie are all great movies that stand the test of time because they were actually made well.

Space Jam is not one of these movies and it never actually was. It wasn't made well. It's not a good movie whether you're remembering or not. It's not Die Hard!

I think Mike was joking to make Slugkid feel bad.

I definitely wasn't.

I love basketball. I love Looney Tunes. And I loved that movie when I saw in it in theatres at twelve. But not all things are fine wine, and that movie is actually a piece of ##### in retrospect. It sucks. The only thing I actually like from it is the song "Hit 'Em High" because it's #####ing awesome and currently on my iPod.

It was a pretty bad movie when you look back, but when you're a kid it's like "HOLY ##### BUGS BUNNY IS PLAYING BASKETBALL WITH MICHAEL #####ING JORDAN THAT IS SO #####ING AMAZING LIKE JURASSIC PARK 2 WAS AND I WILL ALWAYS #####ING THINK THIS"

Except with the same amount cursing yet more "doodypants", "wow" and "heck"

Fixed.

It's a Tarantino movie. You can't take these things too seriously. They're just FUN cinephilic movies. They all wear a smirk. At least, that's how I like to describe them.

And back to A Goofy Movie: when I was watching it recently, that was like the first time I've watched it since I was, say, 8 or 9. That was the most nostalgic I'd gotten in a LOOOOONG time.

The Uninvited was pretty great.  Had a killer twist.  Made my stomach turn!  I recommend it.  Also, there are cuties abound in that movie.  And by abound I mean, like, three.  But you see them a lot!  So you know.  You have that going for it.

So, Edgar Wright (director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) is about to start filming a new movie in March, called "Scott Pilgrim VS The World."

When I first heard about this, I did the research and found out it was based on a Canadian graphic novel. I promised myself I'd read it eventually.

Then I found out Michael Cera will be playing the lead role as Scott Pilgrim. I didn't know how to think about this. I went and read more about the comics and had no idea if it would work with him in the lead or not.

Now is eventually. I've read the first three volumes and I'll start the fourth later.

At its simplest, it's basically about Scott Pilgrim meeting this girl named Ramona Flowers, and in order to date her, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends. It's really wacky and out there, and it's got a really calm and endearing sense of humor. The jokes and fighting remind me a lot of Ranma 1/2 for some reason. It's drawn in a manga-sort-of style but it's clearly a Western work.

And I hate to say it, but the role of Scott Pilgrim was MADE for Michael Cera. The more I read it, the more I'm convinced that nobody else could paly Scott Pilgrim.

If ever there was a role that required him, this was it. He's not a good actor by any means, but he's more of a prop that fits perfectly into certain roles. This is one that I'm confident was made for him.

This movie is now officially on my radar. It's going to be extremely crazy and I'm sure Edgar Wright can pull it off.

Mmmmm I don't know. I'm trying to find things to take my attention away, it works well as background noise and I think Attack Of The Clones is on next too. Phantom Menace is actually better than Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith and it IS the most quotable Star Wars movie (because it has so much cheese Anakin stuff) so maybe I have it on ironically or something.

It took me a while to remember who Scott Pilgrim is. Was about to Google search it too.

Yeah, I heard about the movie. And I like the books so I'll watch this. But my liking the books is nothing compared to the extreme fanboyism of my friend.

Yeah, Mike, explain that to me. I could've sworn I saw the trailer for Fanboys YEARS ago to the point where someone brought it up a while ago and I was convinced that it must've came out a long time ago.

And then I later found out that it's still not out.

I'm the kind of guy that LIKES Star Wars but that's where it ends. I think it's cool, but I haven't seen any of the original 3 films in at least 5 years. I walked out of each of the second 3 films with nothing more than an "okay, where are we eating?" or that sort of thing.

Fanboys keeps getting pushed around for some reason.

I'm afraid that at this point the timing of the movie is going to be "too late" where as if it came out when it was supposed to (the first time) it would have been just right.
