*sighs and shakes head*

I've been spending too much time on the GameTrailers forums arguing with fanboys lately.

I swear, other gamers are making me dislike my choice in hobby.

It goes so far beyond gamerscore though.

The average gamer these days is guilty of two primary sins:

1.) Taking themselves too seriously. This is why games that aren't hyper-realistic or shooters are seen as being "too kiddie" If you aren't killing something or humiliating someone, there's "no point".

2.) Having no imagination. If they don't thirst for variety, developers stop trying. This is how we ended up with so many essentially identical first-person shooters.

YES.

I'm still a shooter fan, but I want my Battlezone and Tribes back.

And my TIE Fighter, for that matter. Think another X-Wing game wouldn't sell out in a day? Think again.

The irony here is that developers were far more creative when they where far more restricted by what a console could do.

Did you see his video about Braid? "Ther ain't no point to tha game."

He embodies what I hate about the new wave of gamers, Hollywood and rappers all at once.

I'm not racist, but I can certainly see why some people are.

I understand why people dislike him so much, but he's really not THAT much worse than a lot of other rappers out there.

Maybe we should just have a campaign against all that ignorant bull##### in general?

Or at the very least a campaign against the "artists" that are clearly doing nothing but reinforcing the stereotype that black people only care about spinning rims, crack and shooting each other.

READ A BOOK!

BET is the worst thing to ever happen to black people.

Also worth watching is when D'Mite was interviewed on CNN for that song.

The news anchor couldn't have missed the point any more if he tried.

Yeah, I watched that via the related videos. It pissed me off.

"You don't understand satire."

I'll never understand people who get all angry over pieces of art that they deem offensive for some reason, from rap music to Grand Theft Auto to violent movies... and so much more. Maybe I just don't know what it's like to be truly offended by something, since I've yet to really find something so horribly distasteful that it actually really offended me.

Everyone just needs to chill the ##### out and stop getting so worked up over everything with their false or irrelevant values because if it clouds your vision so much that you can't even recognize satire (not even harmless satire, but HELPFUL satire), there is seriously something wrong.

I could see why that would be offensive, but when that one guy said, "Kids don't understand satire", that's a load of crap.

This especially isn't hard to figure out. Now they're just calling the younger generation stupid.

That depends on how he defines a "kid"

If he's talking about (as their conversation would imply) kids of a "Sesame Street" age, then he's absolutely correct. A true understanding of satire requires a level of mental processing that children rarely possess before the age of 11 or so. This holds particularly true in the arena of purely abstract and immaterial concepts like race.

They seem to habitually forget that the Wii is actually a modern gaming platform capable of better than circa-1999 3D rendering.

Remember that teaser for a new MGS game? Turns out its coming out not for the 360... no, not even on a real console!
It's coming out on the iPhone!

What a great idea!

I guess I don't really get the fuss over iPhones.

It's a phone with a touch screen that does some other things too.

I had a PDA once and I never used it. I have a cell phone that does a bunch of extra #####, but I only ever use it as a phone.

I actually kind of like the iPhones, and I feel like I might actually use a handful of the applications or games. When I had a PDA, I never touched it after the first week I got it. And like Edge, my phone can do a lot, but I only use it for calling and texting, really.

Still, there's something about iPhones. Maybe the fact that it's also an iPod, so I would use it pretty much non-stop anyway.

My Motorola does the mp3 thing too, but I never end up using it.

I think the iPhone thing is more about allure than it is practicality.

Although, what isn't?

So, Resident Evil 5 demo will be available (officially) for everyone outside of Japan tomorrow.

I've already played the Japanese version, but I hope the English demo has some actual gore in it. I want to see some severed Chris and Sheva heads when the Chainsaw guy hits me! And some smarter AI.

Same here. RE4 Wii edition was damn good. Even though it may not happen, I do hope for RE5 to be ported to the Wii sorta like Dead Rising did... except not have the graphics look like something on the early PS2.

They're soccer socks. They're for playing soccer in, from when I was on a green team. Although since such socks are super long and thick, I sometimes wear them indoors or out if I have to do something in the snow. Or if I decide to get all decked out to watch a Celtics game.

They are great socks. I was on an orange team once, and my dad stole my orange socks that are exactly the same (but orange).
