Alright, good, 'cause the demo for Mirror's Edge said "In Stores November 13th" but the release date is the 11th, and that's the same as BK.

And I know the whole dealio with ship dates having the game actually arrive in stores a day or two after the release date and whatever, and it's hard to get rides out to the stores around here so I don't want to drive out for nothing.

Completely understandable.

It sucks to be the guy who has to tell people that we don't have it yet as well. I don't know why the release date isn't the day it's available in stores. What's the point in announcing it's shipping?

I actually DO want that. It would be a lot of fun to replay the first one with the Wiimote, and I've still never played the second.

And I sold the third a while ago but I want to replay it.

As for Pikmin, I hated the first one.

Oh how godly. I'm assuming they fixed the first two around to where you could play them with the Wiimote? Or what's the situation with that?

The collector's set looks really nice. I wonder how much it would cost though. I also see Japanese writing on there, so who knows if it's even being released in that package outside of Japan. Because, yeah, I know they're re-releasing the first two with Wii controls like Pikmin and other games, but I wouldn't be surprised if only Japan got that nice little trilogy thing.

In other news, I might be getting Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts today.

The second one sucks. I'm pretty sure the rest are only slightly less mind-numbingly boring.

I like the looks of the set more than what it actually is.

Also, please stop saying "Wiimote", planet Earth.

I can live with Wiimote despite how dumb it sounds. Well, I'm sure anyone can, but I'm just saying.

Adding "Wii" to everything, though, is silly. Like referring to the Wii editions of GC games as "Wii-makes." It's not funny, or clever, or even a decent fad. It's like pasting that weird face on everything with the caption "I'M CHARGIN' MY LASER" or whatever, and even that has the advantage of not being a horrible pun.

I still have my GC versions of the first two Metroid Prime games, but will happily forsake them if this box set ever makes it to the US.

Metroid Prime + Wiimote = Win

The second one gets a bad rap. Sure, it's the weakest of the three, but it's still a relatively good game. Especially considering all the other ##### out there these days.

Allz I know is that I was having an OK time, it wasn't really compelling or intriguing or exiciting enough that I'd be somewhere else wanting to be at home playing it like past Metroid games. But still I was having enough fun to keep playing. But then, it ust dropped and I lost all interest. It got REALLY "blah" (I wish I could described what I mean better, but I don't feel particularly articulate today so ##### off) out of nowhere.

I love that word. You'll never stop us!

But I asked politely!

It's fine, you can all realize how stupid you sound later.

I've been calling it the Wiimote ever since a remote was announced to be the controller and I will never stop calling it the Wiimote.

You lie you #####in' guy. I think. Wasn't the controller announced as being a remote before they revealed the name change from the codename Revolution to Wii? Edit: Wait. No. Now I'm thinking you're right.

That's because Echoes had an unoriginal plot. Somebody on this forum told me that the intro was a rip off of Halo, and the intro in Corruption was a rip of Halo 2, what with the USS ship exploding and the Space Pirate attack. Regardless, both of those were amazing games.

I'm still a diehard fan of the first game. T'was the best out of the 3, and still is. Next comes Corruption, then Echoes.

The only thing I didn't like about Prime 1 was how lame the scan HUD was. Prime 2 could have had a way better storyline, but I did like the whole deal with going from light-dimension to dark. Space Pirates could have had a better role, and the creators should have stayed with the first design of the Space Pirates.

Corruption was rather easy to get used to, and I loved the interaction. The grapple ability was to die for (tossing the nunchuck and pulling it back). The storyline and gameplay was real sweet. The Space Pirates looked like complete panseys. I got the most sucked into Corruption than any other game just because of the interaction and additional features and #####.

Overall, the oldest Prime was great to me due to how dark it was.

This trilogy set makes me want to buy my Wii back. =[

For the record, I'm very tired of games that focus on a light and dark version of the same world. It was cool in Zelda (the first time they did it. But for whatever reason, Twilight Princess' "twilight" world didn't really bother me) but since then it's been used enough that rarely does a game actually do anything unique with the concept.

Saying that being on a ship that gets attacked is a ripoff is like saying the word "hippopotamus" is plagiarized from the dictionary.

I played Prime 3, and I was even so bored at one point that I have played Halo 2. Not all the way through mind you, but I have seen the part you're describing, and I stand by my statement.

... But I'll humour you and see if I can watch them through again.

EDIT: No dice. To me, they're both shooters with an outer space theme, and I imagine ships get attacked a lot in stories like those.

And Halo rips off Half-Life, and Half-Life rips off Doom, and Doom rips off Duke Nukem, and Duke Nukem Rips off Bruce Campbell.

Transitive property, then, says Metroid Prime ripped off Bruce Campbell

I might have to get this only because it's the closest thing to another movie we're ever going to get:

Ghostbusters Game Trailer

I can't tell what the gameplay is like at all, but it's definitely got the charm of a Ghostbusters movie.

I'm mostly just skeptical because of the developer.

Bloodrayne sucked. Bloodrayne 2 sucked. Æon Flux sucked. Spy Hunter 3 sucked. The only things they've done well have been collections (Metal Slug, SNK, King of Fighters).

This is not terribly reassuring.

Yeah, it's probably just choices. But as I dislike the Saw movie series, there's no way I'm bringing it into my HOME with a game.

And yet most horror films fail at being scary anyway. They keep doing ##### that's already been done.

I hate the genre. Really. Saw was a breath of fresh air (bearing in mind I know that this is coming from someone underexposed to the genre). It didn't need to be scary; I actually thought of Jigsaw as a hero in his own way and that appealed to me.

Yeah the only horror movies I like are legitimately scary, without being completely stupid. Which limits me to old stuff I can't bring myself to watch. At least if it's not scary I like a psychological thing. I guess saw is a psychological thriller? I don't know, I think it's just an excuse for gore, at least after the first one anyway.

It's no Silence Of The Lambs AKA Mike's favourite movie.

I don't know why everyone keeps jumping to this conclusion.

OMG LOOK! A UNIVERSAL POWER SYMBOL!

The only thing about that that's even remotely 360 is the color, but even that has been used in all sorts of things. Monochrome communicator font comes to mind.

Add to that the fact that a 360 port would require roughly 5-6 dual layer DVDs, and the fact that Kojima has repeatedly said that it wasn't something he was going to do.

If it's anything, it's an advert for another Metal Gear Ac!d.

I'm not saying that the 360 won't see a Metal Gear game, but I AM saying it won't be MGS4.
