Not trying to rag on anyone's religion or anything, but did you ever notice how Christian stuff like this tends to jump on bandwagons, rather than buying their own?

I mean, seriously, when was the last time Christianity started it's own trend, as opposed to taking someone else's idea and bloodily ripping it off?

So, I'm kind of interested in that upcoming game Mirror's Edge. It's like a first-person running/jumping/acrobatic/platformer sort of game.

I might get it.

Agreed. It at least looks like a fresh take on what I can only describe as a stale genre.

And there's no green in it.

This is NOTHING like Metroid Prime, my good sir.

And there's no green in it.

As an avid supporter of green, this troubles me.

Anyway, yeah, it's a big deal to say I want to buy it because there have been a large amount of games I've wanted to play lately but haven't gotten off my ass to get. This is dating back to when Bioshock first came out.

So, what, is it like a parkour game or something? 'Cause that sounds pretty cool.

I sometimes boot up Ultimate Spider-Man and use the "Parker Hoodie" costume and then just free roam around NY going onto buildings and all that by ONLY jumping and wall-jumping and such. No webbing and no sticking to walls, but I allow that running along the wall thing.

It's kind of fun, just to kill time and it's kind of neat to see where I can get without using that other stuff. I got to the highest possible area to get to in the city (whether by use of wall crawling or not) I'm basically done with that now.

I just like parkour stuff.

Not trying to rag on anyone's religion or anything, but did you ever notice how Christian stuff like this tends to jump on bandwagons, rather than buying their own?

YES.

Yeah, it's sort of based on free-running, but I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that. It's all first-person so people are worried it's going to be really disorienting, but it's gotten nothing but good hype so apparently it's not a big problem.

The gameplay videos I've seen of it really have me interested, I've been sort-of following this game for a bit. This and the new Bionic Commando.

The new Bionic Commando lost me when half of their game play trailer was multi-player.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who cares more about single player modes than online game play.

If I wanted to interact with other people, I wouldn't be playing video games.

All these new games with so much focus on multiplayer are just killing me.

As far as I'm concerned the only multiplayer gaming is when my friends are in the same room as I am and we're having a good laugh, not strangers online being s### heels so they can increase their ridiculously unimportant online profile scores.

And abandon matches just before they lose.

I love the internet because of how freely information is conveyed.

I hate the internet because of how absolutely shameless it makes people.

If the government does anything to regulate the internet, it will be straight across the board, age being moot.

If you keep an eye on some of the bills that have been and are being proposed, you'd see they're already trying.

In a purely theoretical sense, wouldn't it be impossible for American governmental groups to regulate the internet without the support of the entire computerized world?

They've done that all over the place. Half the middle east has major cock blocks on the net. This isn't new. In some ways it's a good idea, but ultimately infringes on basic freedoms (well, the freedoms we have in other areas like North America and the UK, at least) and it sucks.

I don't think making a "legal internet use age" is a totally bad idea though. And I think it would be hilarious the first time someone gets caught for "under-age internetting." But not "SUI - Surfing under the influence", because I would get caught chatting up girls who are just friends online far too often...

The internet there is controlled by the government, though.

Phone and internet companies want to get rid of the idea of net neutrality, not the government. And that's worse.

You think the internet anywhere else isn't controlled by the government of that respective area?

I'm all for net neutrality, of course, but I really doubt the government of any nation just allows it's people to do whatever they like on the internet. They don't let that happen with ANY other media. They just make it look like freedom.

Eric Lacarde and Death. My god the designs for every character in this game has been raped

Guitar Praise: Solid Rock

http://kotaku.com/5042779/guitar-praise-+-knocking-off-guitar-hero-for-jesus

This is gunna be way more awesome than Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

God, not this ##### again. They did the same damn thing with Dance Dance Revolution. Stomping for Jesus, I suppose.

Being the son of a preacher man, it's fun/embarassing that I know of or am pretty familiar with most of these bands. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't get their hands on early MXPX or P.O.D....P.O.D. seemingly being the most obvious choice for a guitar game. DC Talk's "Jesus Freak" might be pretty fun, although it would be more suited for a Rock Band game if they made one (which they probably will).

I understand why they threw in Petra, despite them sucking large amounts of dick, because they have to have something vaguely like metal in there. Casting Crowns is an okay choice, but they went with "Lifesong" because its their biggest hit yet. Crap choice; stuff on their self-titled debut is way better.

The idea of Jeremy Camp astounds me; he can't rock out to save his life.

I get why they make these games, but their tracklists always suck. I can't fathom who the hell would want to "dance" on their DDR clone to Steven Curtis Chapman or Rebecca St. James, and who would want to rock out to...most of these people.

Silent Hill: Homecoming will be out in a little more than a week.

I'm very excited.

I'll have to fly through it though, because Dead Space comes out a few weeks after that.

It's a good month(ish) for horror games.

What the hell? Why didn't just use the PS2 style? Not that that's necessarily better than original but this isn't original style either... I don't know. It looks OK but also like a 2D-3D mishmash and those can be awful sometimes. Should be worth a shot though. I'm worried about the DS gimickyness.

The cover story for this month's Game Informer is Star Trek Online, which looks and sounds very, very awesome. I know originally I was saving myself for a Firefly MMO, but if they make this thing for 360 (the article says that Microsoft and Sony have expressed interest)...I may have to jump in on this one.

Pretty much what happens is that you will always be the captain of your own ship, either someone from the Federation or the Klingon Empire. You'll start off with a little tiny-ass ship, but as you lev...*cough* get promoted, you'll get the chance to captain bigger ships. You'll beam down on away team missions, go to new planets, solve problems, and of course, have huge #####-off battles in the Neutral Zone.

I'm not a big fan of Star Trek, but this is one game that I will be checking out.

I don't know. I am an ST fan. Of every incarnation. But... It sounds kind of boring. Like once my friend wanted to do a Star Wars DND and made a facebook group for our friends for it and accidentally called it  STDND. I told him "That would be 'Star Trek DND'" and he said "... Most boring DND ever."

He was right. Because while I love Star Trek, it is a lot of flying around and talking when compared to other flying around space type things.

Still, it could be cool.
