Concrete Man speed-run with crazily-unfair glitch at the end that allowed him to beat Concrete Man nearly instantly.

Galaxy Fantasy was pretty sweet, but I didn't care for Hornet Dance as much.  Hope the rest of the remixes are mostly remixed and not a lot of f'ing bloat with the occassional recognizable melody thrown in to remind you it's a "remix" of the song you like.

Unlike what OverClocked Remix has become these days.

Well, that #####s over people who try to hit the leader boards honestly.  Glitch exploits are one thing, but there's no way to tell if they did or not.  Capcoms going to need to address/fix this if the leader boards are going to mean anything.

Yeah, it pisses me off a bit.

But oh well.

I'm 3 seconds behind the top score on Plug Man's stage. 1:28:25 right now.

The high score is 1:25:30.

Actually all of the current highscores for Concrete Man don't use that glitch, SO.

Just a note.

When fighting Jewel Man, if you jump, he jumps too.  However his height of jump is always the same.  So if you jump low, he will always jump high no matter what.  Use this to go under him.

Yeah, I make him jump straight into a blackhole bomb. :D

I'm now doing the headbanging challenge, for fun... since I need something to do while waiting for ProtoMan mode.

EDIT: OH GOD HORNETMAN'S STAGE REMIX SUCKS. ... God, I loved the original, now its garbage.

Galaxy Fantasy is good, though just like all the other arrange albums, the guy remixing the song forgets he's remixing a song and just adds some random ##### in it...

Click on one of the buttons in the flash and wait.

Originals > This crap.

From what's there, mostly.
I'll have to go with the general trend and say Galaxy Man's remix isn't so bad...
...

... but Mega Man songs are always more fitting to rock remixes.

Oh, no wonder why I couldn't find it; when you scroll down, the links on top get covered up. I thought the remixes would be on the page somewhere, not at the top.

Posted on: 26 September 2008, 16:43:14

Hmm, I like both songs.

I like funk music (remember Norfair from Brawl? I love that song) so I like Hornet Man's song.

I like techno very much, so I like Galaxy Man's song.

I definitely disagree. The 20th Anniversary Techno Arrange album is absolutely unbelievably awesome. I mean, the Rock Album is, too, but the Techno one is so much more perfection.

Speaking of music:

I just got my "Rockman 9 Original Soundtrack" in the mail today. It's kickass. I love the packaging and everything about it.

Yeah, you pick up the CD and behind it is the fake boxart, and it says "MM9 COVER ILLUSTRATION" and there's a sprite of MegaMan blinking in the air, looking like "What the #####?"

Oh, it can be good, yes.
But I was alluding more to the idea that the tunes were always written with rock in mind in the first place.

Eh, there's a techno remix of Heat Man's stage that's awesome.

Hahaha, fancy footwork in that stage, Vinch.
Concrete Man and his stage are probably the easiest parts of of MM9, in my opinion.

that run looks mighty familiar, just with less castlevania-style Chron® deaths

Wow, lucky run through Galaxy Man's stage that second time, Vinch.

Life drops are absurdly rare in this game (I saw maybe one my first time).
Not sure why you didn't try to concrete block Galaxy Man. I always throw everything I have at a new boss (although that usually leads to me dying, but I use the first life to check patterns and weaknesses anyway).

Still great job.

speeddemosarchive and gameFAGS.

Nobody knows exactly how it's done, and the glitch only saves like 1.5 seconds at most anyway.

That's as far as I go with the challenges.

Now I wait for Proto Man.

Tay Zonday = Chocolate Rain guy

I say this because you look like you should have a deep voice, so I thought of someone who had a deep voice who looked like they should have a high pitched voice.
I'm sorry, it was unfunny and obscure. I'll go punish myself now.

So, you beat Jewel Man...
... and fail in Splash Woman's stage?

That was the only one I managed to run straight through without dying. Oh, well.

... odd. Looks like you're hosing the same pattern of Robot Masters I did (minus my failed attempts at Tornado and Plug Man).

I've decided the optimal path is

Galaxy Man > Jewel Man > Plug Man > Tornado Man > Magma Man > Hornet Man > Splash Woman > Concrete Man

The only thing that path doesn't nab you is the Rush Jet for Tornado Man's stage, but having the Jewel Satelite seems far more valuable overall to get early.

Also if anyone hasn't noticed the cut scene after you beat all 8 bosses, the boss you defeat last isn't in the cutscene. It looks like they aren't in it because its from their POV.

Yeah, I noticed that during my second run though.

And my path is the same as Rez, but it starts with Splash Woman.

By the time I get to Tornado Man, I have Rush Jet with me.
