The only reason we try to talk you into putting five dollars down for a pre-order is so the company can have your money before they actually give you anything. We pretty much treat you like a credit card, without paying you interest.

Also worth note: We don't actually save anything for you. We're specifically told to sell to walk-ups even if all our remaining copies are reserved.

The worst part about all this is, in my computer system (which is only specific to my store) there has to be AT LEAST $5,000 in pre-order money for games that were never picked up. Some of it going back so far that the SKU number no longer exists.

Do not pre-order something at GameStop unless you absolutely have to have whatever pithy trinket we promise (which, again, is not guaranteed)

On another note, I'm rather thankful I didn't pay for the game, seeing as how it was a BIRTHDAY PRESENT.

If we were all the same, it'd get very boring.

Anyway, it seems like a fun game, but like pretty much EVERY game nowadays, it doesn't look like it's worth $60... honestly, who the ##### thought of that? Most Games last maybe 5-10 hours and they're $60?

Well, these consoles are going to be around for a WHILE.

I expect them to go until at least until 2014, maybe later.
They are very capable of doing nearly anything still.

The PS3's capabilities haven't even been touched.

Nintendo might have to. Make an HD Compatible Wii that can still play all of your Wii and GCN games, and be connected to your Wii account so you don't have to re-buy your VC/WW games.

But otherwise, 2014 seems like the best year for console upgrades, like you said.

It's will take developers consistently increasing amounts of time to harness the full power of a system.

Just look at how GOOD RE4 looked on the PS2 and Gamecube.

That was right towards the end of their lifespan too, so think how long it will take developers to make games that look that good on the 360 or PS3?

I say 2014 might be a good time for them to release new consoles, but in all reality I wouldn't be surprised if the systems lasted even longer.

If anything, I think they will all just offer upgraded models with more ability and capacity because the system they have in place right now works great for all of them.

Also, TheOnly, your avatar for your 360 gamercard really creeps me out. It's angry and mean looking.

Clearly I never said anything about not having an opinion, and there doesn't seem to be a rule against that on the MBoard Rules. I just think if you wanted to express yourself, you could have made it seem less harsh. Either that, or you're an asskisser.

I like John's XBox avatar better, if only because I know what he actually looks and acts like and I think it's great.

It's one of my favourites when it shows up on Live because I think it's very correct.
