I like Family Guy. I realize people don't like the randomness and it does get annoying at times but I still think it's good.

The thing is... it's just gags. I'll paraphrase Matt Stone and Trey Parker on this one:
The writers have talent. They're funny. However, they're doing it all wrong. Family Guy is just a bunch of incoherent gags forced all around a very, very loose plotline and always extremely formulaic.
There are a handful of hilarious gags, but for the most part they're just unnecessary bits that are easily predictable or forced in for no real reason.

They've also been quoted as saying that the most unpleasant things ever said to them are being compared to Family Guy and being recognized as "those guys from Baseketball."

So. Yeah.

They're not wrong and that much is pretty damn obvious to anyone with a half a brain, but I think it's a funny show regardless. I'm just tired of the first season, which was about 450% worse.
