See... I could never get that to work. He's amazing. I wanted to make a room like that, but with oilblocks on the floor and stuff.

The first time I played one of his stages though, I must say, it didn't work. I fell through, and I got the whole "Warning!" bit, but there was no boss and the stage's main theme kept playing. You couldn't move or anything. The only one option you COULD do, was turn the game off.

But when it works, it can be one hell of a boss fight.

So could you make them drop into a room that was like, a bunch of screens vertically so they just kept moving down while fighting until hitting the bottom or would you risk losing the boss that way too?

It would not. Especially since MMPU's stage builder has some idiotic rules about vertical scrolling.
You're locked to the horizontal row of rooms, and even then, you're still very limited.

...but it's a whole lot better than the single empty room they give you by default.

OilMan is literally a gimmick and nothing else.

"Cool, you get to surf! Wow, I'm surfing! Looks how hard it is to kill enemies! Look how little damage I do! Look how I can only shoot one oil glob at a time! This is fantastic! I'll just surf some more!"

At least it was fun to make a stage for him that just involved surfing and jumping for a while while avoiding spikes.

I made my fair share of those.

Eventually, I realized that MegaMan can pretty much do the same thing OilMan can by just using his weapon, but still do a ton more.
