Not flame wars, no, but the way that spammers were treated back in the day. Like me, when I was a wee member named "Junpei" 6 or 7 years ago.

I've never seen a flame war.

It's real easy, just get two flamethrowers and have it. Loads of fun, usually ends in severe burns for both parties, though.

I'm pissed. Stupid mistakes.

^^ But that ranks me 503'd for wii players on earth.
Eh.

Just played for hours. Still can't beat the intro the  Through the Fire and Flames.

Some bad news about the bonus stuff in the Wii's version of Rock Band:

Rock Band for Wii

I'm still getting it, though. I don't care for that other mumbo jumbo, the multiplayer is enough for me.

Eh. The Ramones, The Polics, The B-52's. I don't see how that's bad.

I wouldn't play it online at all anyway. Like Guitar Hero.

So the Wii version has bonus songs you have to pay for in the 360/PS3 versions?

How exactly is that bad?

Everyone's complaining that they don't get original songs.

I don't care, seeing as I just want to play with my friends.

I'm not getting it.
I don't have many Wii friends who don't already have Rock Band for the 360 so Wii without multi player is dumb.

I probably won't buy because I think it's not a good investment. I live close to my high school friends but far from my college friends and really if it doesn't work out to play with both groups easily a party game isn't that worth it. I'll let other people get it and keep my stuff to games I can actually BRING to the west side of Ottawa (I like in the east end).

Rock Band seems to take everything that's gay about Guitar Hero and magnify it to a level that I'm not comfortable with.

I haven't played it or seen anyone play it so I don't know, but I'm starting to think the same. Even though I play a minimal amount of GH.

I can't enjoy Guitar Hero in the slightest unless I'm alone.

Good job... the only song I've 100% on hard was Strutter on GH2... and that song is as difficult as a Medium song. I probably can't ever 100% an expert song.

SO, any Wii owner who took advantage of the Replacement Discs with Stereo/surround sound ALSO were compensated for, for the time they DIDN'T have GH3.

Basically I just got a faceplate in the Mail.

Not at all.
See, he's already guaranteed a job in the videogame industry from Activision. They are basically paying him right now to even PLAY the game. He is only 16. He's been winning tournaments and stuff for a while now, and has made a lot of money off of it so far.
Videogames are his career now.

Haha, then you'd have an advantage.

"How'd he do that?!"
"I simply programmed in a little thing there that only I can specifically pull off under very specific circumstances in order to win every time."
"Haha, very funny. Seriously, good game."
"...yes. Good game..."

Yes.

I don't see why Activision is paying to play GH. That sounds completely bull##### like everyone who tells you they're sponsored for skateboarding when they clearly not. I had a guy tell me he was sponsored for fingerboarding once, he wasn't even good--Just rich enough to afford all kinds of gay Tech Deck halfpipes and ##### like a total knob. Come to think of it, I have a few stories about that guy, the bullah.

What does Activision get out of him being good at their game exactly?

He represents them at competitions and them sponsoring him got their name into the Guinness World Record book. Something like that.

Not a bad deal.

Not a good one either.

He's making no solid contributions to anything whatsoever aside from making a very minor impact on the advertisements of an already best-selling video-game franchise.

Plus, any time somebody riffs on people who play videogames for a living, you just get that dumb response along the lines of "HEY THEY'RE PLAYING VIDEOGAMES AND GETTING PAID, THAT'S THE LIFE HUH?"

No.

I can't quite explain what I mean but that wouldn't be a very satisfying life to me, and it would just set up some sort of facade that makes me feel as if I'm doing something worthwhile.

It does nothing for society.
It's only a dream to hardcore gamers who do nothing BUT play videogames.

Problems: Girlfriend would say - "Hey, wanna come over tonight?"
Your response- "Sorry, I have to play another 4 hours of videogames to meet my quota, sorry."
GF- "##### you."

I know TONS of people who are "that guy", sans the "I don't have time for my GF" bit.

I have no girlfriend and I've known quite a few people who mistake me as "the gamer kid". I only play games because I have nothing else better to do. I'd MUCH rather hang out with friends, so if a girlfriend asked me for my time, I wouldn't have a problem. They think otherwise though.

Didn't someone say on the old board that some guy got addicted to World of Warcraft? He never had anytime with his girlfriend or his college classes. When graduation came around, he told her he wouldn't be graduating with her, so she dumped him.

If it wasn't here, I must've read it somewhere.

At least he's better than one kid I know. This kid is obsessed and plays it non-stop, and boasts about how good he is, but he actually sucks and even I can beat him on most songs.

On the other hand, I have friends that are obsessed and AMAZING, too. It's impressive to watch some of that stuff.
