Before this last week, I went like 2 weeks without playing at all.
I'm still only like the 6th best from my High School. Freaking sophomore being able to 5 star Through the Fire and Flames and Jordan.

You shouldn't even KNOW that you're 6th best in your entire school.

We have had some small tournaments, during classes and lunches and stuff, just because.
I hang out with all of them too.

So Guitar Hero DS comes out on the 22nd.

And...

...I decided I'm going to get it.

I guess the main reason is that I haven't played my DS in a really really really long time and I feel that this is enough motivation.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'm not expecting much. If I go in with low expectations I'll at least get a nightly diversion out of it.

I figure it's stupid since the whole point is that it's portable, but I would never let myself be seen playing it in public, and if I'm at home I'd rather play the actual full-featured console version.

So, in the end, I'm getting it for the multiple 3-hour car trips I know I'll be taking up north and back home all summer to my condo.

Get something worth spending the 3 hour trips on. You'd probably get bored of the GHDS in like 30 minutes.

I think it's the sort of thing that if I see somebody else with, I'll think "hey, that's fun" and ask to try it out. It'll be fun for the exact amount of time I'm given to try it out. And it'll never be fun again.

Hooooly crap.
I just played the sickest online round I've played in forever.
Just look at these scores.

Posted on: June 18, 2008, 01:00:38 PM

For Before I forget, you need 314,648 to five star it.
We both 'six' starred it (averaged a 4.0 multiplier), but he seven starred it, averaging a 5.0x multiplier for his points.

Jeeeezum. We both only 6 starred Kool thing though.

Posted on: June 18, 2008, 01:04:32 PM

And now my guitar does strum half the time when I'm holding a blue note.
It's pretty #####ing retarded that I get 3 or 4 stars on songs that I 5 star with no problem.

Does it allow me to trade the ##### music of Coldplay and Muse for that of better bands, free of charge?

Apparently MM2 Wily music topped the GHTunes chart, but was removed for copyright reasons.

Why the hell are they removing them? Isn't the point of the music maker to make songs that WEREN'T in Guitar Hero? I mean, making an original song is nice and all... but playing MM2 Wily Stage 1 on Guitar Hero would be #####ing sweet. Copyright reasons... bah. Hate ##### like that, ruins the fun of some things...

I plan to get World Tour now, although it may take a while before I get it.

I've had that song for a while.
It's darned fun to play.
I also have Green Greens, the chocobo theme, and quite a few others.

Abe, we'll have to play together.

Are you getting anything besides the game, or are you just getting the disc and using your GH3 guitar?

Band play, Abe. You can do whatever while I do guitar or bass.
I don't care to face you one on one, this game is more about co-op than beating people.

Aw, thanks Nova.

Also, I wish I had the drums or mic...
A USB Mic would be easy and cheap to get though, as I could just borrow a friend's mic for the 360.

##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### #####

I get World tour on monday and today the red button on my slightly trusty GH3 guitar decides to cut out if I press it while pressing a higher note.

Basically, I can't play any sustained chords or fast strum anything with red notes.

And because of this I can't even beat Hot For Teacher.

Now I need to burn even MORE money to get a friggin new guitar.
I have to chose between the new 50-something dollar guitar or a 3rd party piece of crap for 25....

The sad part is they're getting taken down. Which is beyond retarded.

Though I heard an easy way to avoid getting it taken down would be to name the song something that DOESN'T have the full name or something.

Like Wily Stage 1 from MM2 could be "Skull Fortress 2A" or something with no mention of Mega Man 2 in it.
