My sister just got  a Wii and wants to get a charging station for her controller. By default the controls are powered by two AA batteries. You guys suggest any good charging stations for the price?

How exactly do they work also?

Do the charging stations come with rechargeable batteries for the controller and you charge via usb with the charging dock?

I use rechargable batteries instead of rechargable controllers, since I can use the batteries for other electronics as well. Forgot how much that'll run you though. Check out your local Wal-Mart.

I have a charging dock. It's great. I forgot what it's called and I can't really help you because it's at school, but trust me, they're worth it.

$30 will set you up for six months or so, depending on how much you use it of course.

Here, found the one I have.

Well, a picture of it, at least. It comes with new battery covers with a grip on the back, which I really like.

Yes, that's the exact same one as mine and they worked great for six months but since then have had difficulty holding more than half an hour of charge.

I've had mine for over a year and they're still fine.

Granted, I don't use my Wii all that often.

My problem with those is I couldn't get more batteries for them without buying a whole new set.

There are rechargeable batteries that exist that are compatible with anything, and have their own rechargeable station. Dynacharge, we used to use. And then people kept losing all the damn batteries.

I've got a Nyko Power Station, almost like ASR's.

It's worked perfectly for about as long as I've had a Wii.

I've not had problems with mine, and it's also the same model as ASR's...
... but I never really use my Wii these days.

Rechargeable batteries hold full charge much longer if you use them until they fully lose charge and only then put them back on the charger until they are, of course, fully charged.

I just ordered one of these, but it hasn't arrived yet:

It's like a Wavebird except it has rumble.

I'm sick of being wired to my Wii to play GC stuff and having a wiimote dangling off my Classic Controller so this seems like the best of both worlds.

So, that's a wireless Classic Controller? Looks a little funny, I hope it isn't as big as I think it is.

They need to make a Classic controller that has a plugin for the Wii remote AND the GameCube slot (And obviously be wireless)... I love the Classic Controller way more than the GC controller.

How much are Wavebirds anyway (if they're still being sold anyway).

That looks really awesome. Looks a lot better than the Nyko Wing, which was the same kind of PS2-esque controller. I'd get that because a) It looks MUCH better than the Wing, and b) LOL THRUSTMASTER

This, is the Wing.

But it's called Wind, WIND. It's like, it's so totally cool that you have a controller that says Wind in it, since you are WIND, WIND.

No, it's actually called the Wing, but you know how much I, WIND, would love to have a controller saying Wind on it, because I'm WIND right? Anything that says Wind on it is good for WIND.

The best d-pad on the planet, as far as I'm concerned, was the SNES one. PSX type controllers are close, but since they lack the center it makes it a little harder to roll with it.

I've never understood d-pads having depressed centers; you use the edges, not the middle.
Not that a raised center would be good either, but flat is best in my opinion.

I actually like how the Wing looks better. Neither controller seems very ergonomic, but they don't have much of a bar to raise considering the classic controller's design.

... regardless, I did manage to beat Super Metroid in under 3:00h 100% with the classic controller, so it's not that bad.

I never had a Sega Saturn, or vaguely remembered of it's existence.

Never handled that controller, but by it's looks, I'd argue that the Gamecube one is worse than th- wait, is the back of that controller flat?

Mostly. The bars you see down the sides raise back a little, but not much.
The real kicker is that this thing is pretty much the size of your face, and the triggers are way the hell up there on the back of those bars.

Speaking of Sega I heard there's a Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, seems like a good way to play some of the Genesis classics if you never got to.

Except that most of them aren't classics, and there's no Gunstar Heroes, no Toejam and Earl, no Toejam and Earl 2 and no Rocket Knight Adventures (among others).

Instead you get awful crap like Golden Axe and Phantasy Star. If your game list was that game list, with the exception of the Sonic games, you'd be better off with an SNES.
