My personal favorites are JURASSIC and FRIEND TO THE ANIMALS.

It used to say HUGE ##### where COOL DUDE is, but I swapped them, haha.

And here's a slight modification:

The A's are still there, they're just really hard to see.

Shouldn't it  say  lec Robbins?

By that logic, the stylistic A shouldn't be visible, either.

They're visible in the old one, too. Take a look. They're just hard to see, and you probably just now noticed them.

I spent a really long time trying to design it (and failing), and in the end I ended up using one of the preset themes with some modifications.

I wasn't going to go so bright at first, but I really like it because it brings out the optimism and humor.

I hate people who are way too serious. They always seem like they're stuck up, anal butts with no sense of humor and are always angry.

But then I remind myself that I said "anal butts", laugh, and shrug it off.

Which is now.

I'm looking at it again and I love how it looks like John just wandered into this horrifying situation.

Randomly naked.

Like maybe he was getting ready to take a shower!

Also his penose is still awesome.

Also, I changed the title of my thread with the intention of not actually drawing anything, but then I'm immediately like "oh god i have to actually draw this" so I did super-quickly and posted it immediately without really thinking. I'm noticing all the funny bits later.

Although you probably made that up, I for one, remember vomiting.

So you didn't laugh because it wasn't funny, or because something similar happened to you? Because I can totally understand if you didn't find it funny (because it's not that funny), but if it's the latter... seriously? Really?

Maybe because I'm used to the material already, but I try to laugh at jokes I've already heard before as long as they've got a "funny" spark to it.

I just didn't on this act.

But about Flintstone vitamins, I was about eight years old and I was hungry. I thought it'd be a good idea to fill up on vitamins. It'd kill my hunger AND make me healthy. Double win right?

Made me miserable.

Don't worry, you're fine because my act isn't funny.

But yeah, I made up the Flintstones story.

Posted on: 17 April 2009, 13:09:07

Okay, so I'm starting, well, a webcomic with a frienemy of mine. I actually don't like him too much, but I secretly do like him because we have a similar sense of humor and taste in movies/television.

SOOOO, on that criteria, we decided to team up and make comics.

They're called A Rope Of Sand. Extremely obscure, pop-culture-oriented stuff. Some things from video games, some things from movies, some things from TV-shows. You won't always get the joke.

We're launching it in a little bit. It'll be updated Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We're waiting until we have somewhere around 15-20 strips before we start putting them online.

But, JUST FOR YOU GUYS... here's three preview strips of what's to come:

Let me know what you think. John and Wind have seen all of them, or most of them, but yeah. I'm just using them as sounding boards along with a few friends. John personally picked the three to show you. I wanted to show a hilarious Spongebob one but JOHN SAID IT'S INNAPPROPRIATE OR SOMETHING.

I got them all, obviously, and they aren't bad. The best was Layton and the weakest was Animal Crossing. It'd probably be better if you didn't have titles like "Prefessor Layton & Curious Cancer". It doesn't really give away the punchline but I think it would just help to go in more fresh, like how the titles in PBF comics relate but don't tell you anything at all.

We considered not using titles, and I kind of don't want to, but I also kind of do. There are actually two other Professor Layton comics and they all have titles like "Professor Layton & The Curious ______." We plan on doing more of those, as well. I know exactly what you mean and I kind of agree with you.

Whoever wrote the strip has their name first.

This is true, and he knows it because I told him, in case anyone was wondering.

That explains the wide gap in art style I seem to detect.

I draw ALL of them. No matter who wrote it. That's just a horrible drawing of Jack, and I'll probably go back and fix it.

I DON'T LIKE HIM EITHER

Kwaselow is... he's basically just a rival. The Gary Oak to my Ash Ketchum, if you will. I haven't actually seen him in a long time, but we talk online enough. I've known him since pre-school, but we've never really been friends or anything. We have similar interests and good senses of humor, so we put aside our differences to team up on this. It's actually been fun.

But yeah, he's a dumb stupidhead and screw him. Though he's the only one who gave me useful and honest criticism on Roomhates. I still think anyone who honestly enjoyed Roomhates is crazy. I'm proud of MAKING it, but it's not funny. There are some moments, sure, but not enough to redeem it. I could've done a lot better is basically what I'm saying.
