I love the Highlander movies, and the Highlander TV shows, and have always wondered why there's never been a decent Highlander game, so when I heard that there was one coming out, I was filled with anticipation!

Then I saw the sword.

...

OH WELL.

Another cult classic I've yet to find time to see. It's high up on my list, too.

What's bad about the sword?

It's supposed to be a SWORD, not some D&D butter knife.

It's not so much that it's a bad sword, it's just a bad sword for Highlander. Think of it this way; Most immortals use katanas  or, you know, long swords, while this guy is using a Prince of Persia meets Sting from LOTR.

It's like defending switchblades with a letter opener.

I love the Highlander TV shows and movies too. An ex-coworker of mine (who is soooooooooo fine) saw the new movie when she was in China or wherever (where she is now) and she said it was pretty bad, and she's a mega fan.

For it stood on your shore for
many the long day
'til the longboats from Antrim
came to float it away

I don't know which scene that song is from, but that's about all I can remember from the series as a whole.. D:

I never followed the show or the movies.

I DID see the end of the fifth movie at a friends place though, and I can say:

If THAT'S what this was all leading up to, I'm glad I'm not a fan of the series, because I would be #####ing furious.

Highlander: End Game?

They tried to blend the show and movies into one.

I think it was only decent to actual fans, and even then not so much. But as a kid I had been introduced to the show before the movies so I was always a Duncan backer anyway, I didn't really know of Connor much until just before I saw Endgame.

Did The Raven even die? I'm not sure if Duncan got the Prize or not in Endgame. Hm. He probably just defeated that one particular immortal.

The first Highlander movie is absolutely fantastic. Everything after it... not so much.

One of the things I always liked about Highlander was the realistic fight scenes, but then I think they'll drop that for the game, which will make me a sad panda.

I'm not talking about Endgame, I'm talking about Highlander: The Source.
At the end of the movie: Duncan finds Anna in a clearing by a sandy pit, illuminated by starlight, as the cosmic convergence is happening directly over them. The Guardian surfaces and challenges Duncan. Duncan finds he has the same speed and power as the Guardian, and fights him. Finally defeating the Guardian, he taunts Duncan to take his head. Duncan refuses, and the Guardian vanishes, screaming, in a blast of light, exclaiming that he is "cursed forever." Duncan enters the Source, qualified to do so by his pure heart. In the Source, Anna reveals that she is pregnant with their child. Duncan declares "He is the one."
The end.

I didn't see the Source but I guess it's the new one after Endgame. So...
... Duncan is the One but... Did he ever even get the Prize?
The Source is actually supposed to be the start of a new trilogy, but with Adrian Paul's lack of enthusiasm once filming started and the fans being royally pissed after they got their hands on the Russian/Polish release (it was released 8-9 months early over there before getting a proper American release)...the trilogy being finished seems doubtful.

Oh well, at least there's the MUSICAL. And no, I'm not kidding.

But seriously, did anyone check out Highlander: The Search for Vengeance? It's by the guy who did Ninja Scroll, and it's pretty cool.

I've had it sitting for ages and never watched it.

I never even made it through The Source.
