Yeah, Jake HAS been gone for a good while now...

Jake's still around. He's probably just too busy to visit as much.

Indeed.

Also, Sakurai says that no other 3rd party characters from Square or Capcom were ever suggested to him.

So, yesterday I played some Melee.

For three hours.

In on match, we had hammers all over the place. My friend picked one up and the head fell off. I hit him then went to grab the hammer head. Guess what I grabbed instead? His headless hammer! Turns out he dropped it when I hit him and I somehow managed to grab it. XD

You had to be there. It was too funny.

I just meant it was definitely a "you had to be there" moment since it's not really that funny in a second hand description but I see how it would be funny.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news... but...

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=koyMDCfAJ1M

PLEASE tell me you can turn off this stupid tripping thing. I understand that Sakurai wanted to even out the playing field and give everybody a chance at winning, but this is taking it too far.

Or... wait. My immediate assumption when seeing this was that this happens at random, but apparently it's caused by something and it can be avoided. It's not so bad, then.

Nah, tripping seems to be something random. Or maybe it's the result of trying to do that "Dash-dancing" thing.

I knew about this tripping thing but it doesn't seem to happen too often. It can probably be avoided since I haven't seen it much in the videos I saw.

I don't know about funner, but it could make the game more fun.

I doubt it though. Chances it are it's going to do nothing either way for my opinion.

Grow up. I was just annoyed at first because it hurts the skill factor of the game. I've long since decided it's not that big a deal anyway.

Am I the only one who watches the battles on Youtube and realises that the winner is always the person who gets the most Final Smash items?

Well if the person uses the Final Smash correctly, they're naturally more likely to win, yes. Other than that, I've seen a four-player Brawl match where Luigi FS'd and it was still a sudden death between him and Lucas.

I've rarely seen Final Smashes in the videos I've watched. But I suppose that would really help you win, if done right.

Depends on who is playing, if you manage to kill alot of players with one final smash you can probably win... Good thing Smash Balls appear more than once, but it would suck if the same person kept getting them.

You can only use the Final Smash once though, so it doesn't matter if they get another one or not though, right?

Except for the fact that they stole your Smash Ball, I guess.

Sakurai said that, or the translator did, whoever did was wrong or worded it odd.

I mean, they DID say on Lucas's special moves "Up until NOW there's been a character named Ness in Smash Bros" And Ness is still in. So blah.

How is a picture of Brawl going to convince me that it's being sold early in Sears? All it means is that someone, somewhere, somehow got it early, took a pic, and spread it through the internet, someone found it and claimed they bought it early from Sears...

...who doesn't even carry videogames.

EDIT: ...actually, yeah, they do. My bad.

I'm sorry, but the image doesn't look photoshopped and there are reports of people heading to Sears to buy the game comming out empty handed because its already all sold out.

Not to mention, the game has already been shipped. It's not uncommon for stores to release big name games before the release date.
