Wait wait wait.  We forgot Knuckles.  Let's make him a pirate.

WHAT?!

Sonic's had plenty of games like X7 already though, CAN IT WORSE?

It can worse, I'm sure.

And everyone else made me look down in shame.  The only exceptions are Metal Sonic and Eggman.  They're still badass bad guys who search for Chaos Emeralds to take over the world.  And I love em for it.

*ahemknucklesrulesahem*

-Developed by the same people as Sonic and the Secret Rings

I sense the failure already.

That's all I bothered to read.

I saw it too, but shrugged.

At least Sonic and the Secret Rings was better than Sonic 2006.

-Sonic is controlled with the Control Stick.

Made me laugh.

-Knuckles, who can hold two swords at once, and Shadow have been confirmed so far.

Makes me worried.  What weapon does Shadow have? A bow? A crossbow? A gun?

-Rings come in burlap sacks instead of monitors.

Makes me lose hope.  It's not a Sonic game without them.

Someone get a Control Stick and get these guys under control!

A crossbow would sound cool. A gun would sound ridiculous.

ALTHOUGH THEY DON'T NEED WEAPONS.

I can understand the replacement of monitors since it's supposed to be a medieval setting and technology is out-of-place, but then you've got to remember that Sonic's been doing that sort of thing for ages and quite frankly I'd feel perfectly natural if I saw a computer monitor with a yellow ring on the screen inside of an ancient Egyptian pyramid or a medieval castle.

As I said in another thread, any interdimensional travel ruins any game that incorporates it.  Time travel always screws the game up, even when it makes sense.  They replace monitors with sacks of rings to make it fit with the medieval theme.  Makes sense, but the game is ruined.  They give him a sword to let him fight bad guys because it goes with the theme.  If he can jump on a machine and destroy it, why can't he do that on out-of-date enemies? The game is ruined.

Replacing a recurring theme that everyone loves with one that's new and might attract new eyes only says, "Failure."

I just realized that this means the enemies aren't going to be robots.

Or maybe they are, and that just completely ruins the idea of burlap sacks.

They'll probably be like, magically living suits of armor and steampunk (for lack of an older style term) type robots.

Half the levels in 3D Sonic games are pyramids or similar anyway.

Which was my point. It's nothing new, they don't suddenly need to match everything with the time period.

What I want to see is Sega follow the path of Capcom and go back to old-fashioned graphics and gameplay.  Come on, we all know someone's gonna catch the idea eventually.  Then everyone will do it, and game designers won't replace gameplay with pleasing graphics.

Well, let's see.  Sega had a great game, brought about new content that wasn't bad, and is now bringing in definite non-Sonic gameplay.

Yeah, that's stage three of Capcom syndrome.

I haven't played Sonic 2006 but I'm disagreeing with that. I utterly hated Secret Rings.

After playing 06 for about 10 hours, and having the play experience making me realize that I could make the AVGN look like a SAINT, I came to realize that Sonic and the Secret Rings deserves the praise it gets from the dozen or so remaining true Sonic fans, and X7 in comparison is like being part of a 100 woman orgy that exists soley to pleasure you for all time. I also concluded that having a terminal illness of the worst kind would likely be more enjoyable than playing 06, or being stuck in Capcom Hell where Rez resides as Supreme Satan and determines punishments based on each Staff Member's crimes against gaming. It's honestly the first game I ever played that made me feel like I lost time from my life that I'll never EVER get back again, and it's not even an MMO!

Dude, Sonic can STAND PERFECTLY FINE UPSIDE DOWN ON CIELINGS. When he's not hacking all form of existence that way and putting Spiderman to shame, he has the ability to snowboard back UP the mountains at TOP SPEED! The "Amigos", who for the past 15 or so years prior to this game could jump and DAMAGE enemies just fine, now TAKE damage for that! There's SO much wrong with that game, so much that I could rant on about, and oh man the LP on Youtube I could do about it if I bought the right stuff...

ANYWHO, yeah, new game looks like it's more of a Sonic meets Zelda and they have a bastardized Secret Rings Half Brother Sequel. As far as non robot enemies and all, Secret Rings had it where the enemies were all animated objects for the most part, or else they were just animated magic, since Sonic Team knew that fans would eat up just about anything at that point if they were playing it. Then again, since it's been shown for about 16-17 years now that Sonic can cut through so many things that far far FAR exceed simple steel armor with his spin attack, I can't wait to see what ST tosses at the fans to eat up as to why he suddenly can't tear through some real scrap this time around.

Milk is good.

I'm glad I've never touched Sonic '06. I was before reading SB's post, but now even more so.

I'm still not playing this, though.
I'm one of those real Sonic fans who knew when to jump ship (and that was right after Sonic and Knuckles, kids).

I've played this game. It's called The Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess.

It was very good.

Anyways...

Don't diss 2% milk....

I think I will thanks. 2% milk is for FATTIES!

Ugh. Skim is disgusting.

I mean, I drink it when we're out of 2%, but... ugh. So inferior.

My dad likes it, so we always have 2% and Skim, so Skim's always been the back-up milk for me. And it'll always been the second banana.

1% skimmed. Never tried anything else.

Except for 35% before, for whip cream. Just once though, and as a joke.

1% is OK, but skim is lighter, tastier (I can see how others think others taste better, but I just like skim's taste), AND better for you! I really can't stand how thick 2% is, I don't even like the thickness of 1% really.

I keep thinking Vinch is Yubi.

I've been drinking skim for so long that I can't bear the taste of 2% any more. Any time I have to have it, it just leaves, like, a film in my mouth, and I can't get the crap out without brushing my teeth.

Instead of brushing your teeth, you can try a 1-Hour Photo place. Y'know, see what's there instead of brushing it away.

I'm not actually sure if I get it.

I mean, film, movie, har har har. I get that.

But a 1-hour photo place? They'd take a picture of the film in your mouth, and then you'd know what's "Now Playing" in your mouth the movie would probably be half over or MORE! And you'd only have a still image from it!
