At least they haven't touched Knuckles.. yet. I could care less about Tails.

They should quit while they have some kind of chance. Sonic Unleashed my boost them up, but this'll probably #####ing ruin them..

Sonic Chronicles might be OK.

Since its being made by not Sega.

Still don't know if a fast being such as Sonic should be put in an RPG...

Then again, Bioware made the Knights of the Old Republic games and even though I never beat them, they were great.

Well at least it's sticking to a more classic style I suppose.. Sonic Chronicles doesn't interest me in the slightest, I hate everything after SA2. Sonic isn't better than MegaMan guys, don't be fooled by some silly topics out there..

Sonic's a little better than Megaman... a little bit... very small bit...

Both are low on the list now a days, though. Very low.

I'd still take Sonic 3 & Knuckles over any MegaMan game, though. Even MegaMan Legends 2.

But I'd take MegaMan Legends 3 over any new Sonic game...

WHAT IS NAKA UP TO?
DOES HE THINK THIS IS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM BETTER THAN THE FIRST SONIC GAME?
Because it isn't, and nothing after Sonic 3 & Knuckles has been.

Nothing.

It all went down the drain when they added "Chaos Control."

I like my copy of SA:DX, I like the separate stories that conclude in the end.  Not to mention that I can use the Chao garden as backup for my SA2B garden.

SA2B was fun, but they added too many things that made the rest of the series go down the #####ter.

1. Chaos control.  They made it so that Chaos Emeralds can be used to warp space and time.  I found this a nice add to the game, giving Shadow an edge over Sonic in the beginning, but when the other games came out, this eventually led to time travel, which NEVER turns out good. EVER. Even if it makes sense in the end, NEVER.

2. Shadow.  "And all the fanboys rejoiced...""
All they did was give Sonic another unnecessary rival, this time a "dark doppelganger." When everyone got excited about another hedgehog, they added YET ANOTHER ONE.  The only hedgehogs I want to see are Sonic and Metal Sonic kthx. The games could have gone in a better direction without him, but the past is unchangeable.

3. Grinding on rails.  Seriously, leave the ramps and loops please.  Grinding just gave it that "Tony Hawk" feel I'm not comfortable with.  And learning how to jump from rail to rail was annoying, especially when it meant "life or death" when it first pops up.

Yep.  They need to go back to 2D goodness quick before they lose their main audience to fantasy-lovers.

As far as story goes, SA2 added to the ##### mix. But overall I loved SA2 with a passion, the gameplay was solid. Fast paced and lots of neat tricks, not to mention spending hours in the Chao gardens.

I already said it and I'll say it again, SA2 blows SA1 out of the freakin' water IMHO.

Well, gameplay wise, I enjoyed SA1 for the fact that the Sonic/Tails stages were merely 3D versions of the classic games, loops and all.  No buttons to press, no real strategy to get to the end.  Just hold Up instead of Right to get to the end.  And I loved it.

Thats something I enjoy in 2D only, and I didn't really like the whole walking from place to place to get to stages jazz. SA2 was a simple stage select, and I love it.

ARGH! I wanna play it now! But I don't know where my DC is!

Agreed. I spent many more hours in SA2:B than SA:DX, and loved every second of it.

Of course, I'm pretty sick of it now...

Well I liked SA1 better too, but...

1. Nothing wrong there.
2. You forgot Amy Rose. Who may be annoying, but deserves to stay as a character.
3. It was nothing like Tony Hawk and had NO TH feel, but I understand what you mean.

And yeah, the separate stories thing is WAY better. And I thought the overworld was cool.

The levels in SA1 were alot more fun than the levels in SA2.

The Knuckles Levels weren't annoying, and the emerald radar was actually USEFUL. Tails wasn't limited to a stupid machine, and lastly you could choose which character you wanted to play as.

"Gee, I love playing as Sonic, but now I'm being FORCED to do a level for Tails and Knuckles!"

Oh, that reminds me.

4. They turn the epic Super Sonic level into a lousy Super Sonic/Stuip Shadow "dodge and run head first into fragile part" level.  Seriously, I enjoyed SA for the fact that you had to dodge the attacks so you could keep moving foward at top speed.  And if you weren't at top speed, you couldn't damage Chaos, and you had to try again.

SA2, you only had to dodge some rocks and maybe some lasers to hit a giant swelling mass on the thing's neck. That's it.  Get close, hit it, repeat.  Nothing else to do.  Just hit it. BORING.

I guess I'm one of the few that actually liked Shadow's appearance. I liked grinding and SA2 a bit more than SA1, but yeah... there are bits of SA1 that were really fun.

Yet, that was before. I don't like what they're doing to Shadow and Sonic at all anymore.

LET'S GIVE SHADOW GUNS.

I bet you all money SEGA will create another Sonic game and give some ridiculous weapon like more guns or something to Silver. Shadow will have guns and Sonic will have a sword. They'll all be in it. It'll be like X7.

GUARANTEE IT.

Let's think.

Shadow was the old fanboy fetish who was originally evil but good now. Zero.

Silver is the new guy that all the fanboys love now. Axl.

And Sonic's the blue guy who's been around since the beginning that everyone else is based off of. X.

...Yeah, they're pulling a Mega Man X series downfall.

Sonic makes me cry, and Shadow is hopeless to me now. Great job SEGA. Thanks.

Ha.  I tried to click and the bandwidth limit was exceeded.  I see nothing.

OK, well, here's the post from GameFAQs then:

[spoiler]
-Developed by the same people as Sonic and the Secret Rings

-”This time, a sorceress named Merlina summons Sonic to the mythical realm of King Arthur, but it seems the fabled monarch has somehow been corrupted and now rules the land as the tyranical Black Knight.”

-Uses a similar storybook device as Secret Rings

-”As Sonic runs along, a simple flick of the Wii remote will execute a basic slash, which is enough to dispatch most low-level grunts.”

-More advanced swordplay consists of the ability to thrust, parry, and even pull off a buzz-saw maneuver midjump.

-”During out demo, we saw the hedgehog leap from a high precipice, then thrust the blade into a wall to slow his decent, sparks flying impressivly as steel cut through brick”

-”Combat is integrated in such a way that most of the time you can slice through any who stand in your path without even slowing down”

-Sonic is controlled with the Control Stick.

-”Our hero begins his quest as a mere knave. Only by becoming a full-fledged knight will he have any hope of defeating King Arthur.”

-”his sword, a talking blade named Calibur, serves as a mentor”

-If you help civilian townfolk in need of assistance, you’ll earn points toward knighthood. If you smite one of those civilians, your reputation will take a hit.

-”At the end of each stage, the game tallies your good and not-so-good deeds and updates your rank accordingly.

-You can purchase items from residents. “Sonic can aquire everything from gauntlets to magical tomes to new swords, and when equipped, each article bestows him with a unique benefit.”

-About 200 items in all, with some being able to be combined with others to make new ones.

-You have the option to go online and trade items with friends.

-Rings come in burlap sacks instead of monitors.

-Sonic uses magic elementals to help him do various things, such as a bounce pad or a speed boost. They look like chao heads. The red ones give him a jump and the blue give Sonic a speed boost.

-Sonic can cross large gaps by firing a ballista and grinding the rope to the other side.

-”On the audio side, veteran composer Jen Senoue is taking a smiliar approach, injecting familiar Sonic themes with a Celtic flavor.”

-”Each stage has multiple branching paths and searching for townsfolk and treasure chests provides an element of exploration that recalls Sonic’s early Genesis days.”

-”the camera will occasionally pan to a side-scrolling perspective for a quick dose of classic 2-D action”

-SBK Bringing back the skill system from Secret Rings, but they’re trying not to have the skill system interfere with the game’s tempo this time around.

-The mission structure also returns but the developers hope to make it less arduous.

-”And there will be no dinosaur eggs!”

-”Just as they subbed in for such characters as Ali Baba and Aladdin in Sonic and the Secret Rings, a number of familiar faces will assume Arthurian personas in SBK.”

-Other characters beside Sonic are playable, but it is entirely optional to play as them.

-Knuckles, who can hold two swords at once, and Shadow have been confirmed so far.

-A new special guage will “bestow him with similarly impressive powers. The meter fills gradually whenever Sonic vanquishes an enemy or snags a purple elemental, and when it reaches a certain point you can unleash a powerful combination attack capable of tearing through multiple foes in quick succession.”

-The team knows of the faults of the recent series and are hoping to fix it with this game.
