I grew into the games while I was away, trying out the SNES F-Zero at first, and liking it to an extent. Didn't really feel like the F-Zero the franchise was trying to portray.

F-Zero X is another story. That game is killer. I played it for hours on end, but never learned how to unlock any of the other damn racers. Has a good feel, easy steering, and felt just like what an F-Zero game should have, but I can't blame the SNES, really.

F-Zero GX... What a gem of a game. Incredible graphics, easy controlling, decent plot... Difficult game. Jesus #####ing Christ... this work is the high-maintenance girlfriend of the gaming industry. It's just... Impossible. Grand Prix, it's even worse. How the hell are you supposed to beat Emerald or even the Diamond cup on Master difficulty? The opponents are straight-up brutal. I've attempted Diamond on Expert, and I still get my ass handed to me on a silver platter.

Anyway, life has brought us the ever-so amazing Nintendo Wii. Does that mean a new F-Zero game will be released along with it? I'm hoping so. Online play would make me cream more than Baskin Robins.

What are your views on this game franchise? Not many people are fans of it, or any racing game for that matter, but I'd like to hear YOUR views. Experiences with the game, opinions, or information about past or perhaps future releases.

I've always liked F-Zero, and the GBA ones are great too.

Story mode in GX is crap, and the game in general is a bit too hard, but it's still impressive.

I'd fall out of my seat if they Wiid it, so I look forward to that :D

Have you made an original machine, Abe? If so, what parts did you use?

I first played the original SNES game. Great game, but I could never beat that one White Land track with the impossible jump.

F-Zero X is my favorite. The game is so addicting.

F-Zero > Sequels.

I only played a bit of GX but it seemed like better racing than X, although X has a good fun party feel that GX probably loses with it's hardness.

I own F-Zero (actual cartridge, not Virtual Console) but I never really got into the game.

I got a little interested after trying out GP Legend for the GBA, but that's about it. I always wanted to try GX but it's not in stores anymore.

I'll purchase a Wii F-Zero game, however. Especially if it'll have online.

I've only seen some video of the Gamecube version.

Seems like it would give me a headache, it moves to fast.

Can't remember, I just tried to make them look cool instead of actually being good.

F-Zero was the #%@& when I was young.

F-Zero X was the #%@& when I was a little older.

Never played the next one. Pretty excited to go buy it though... I find myself playing older games so much lately because new games are so easy.

True, new games tend to take 2 years to make, 2 days to finish and 2 weeks to milk the fun dry.

GX is an exception to that rule...

You'd think they could do a Wii one on the Mario Kart engine.

I love the SNES F-Zero, but absolutely HATE the N64 and Game Cube ones.  The game just moves TOO fast to really enjoy the tracks.  It's all WAAAAAAAAAH #####ING WALLS CRASH CRASH CRASH.  I also want to personally kill the family of whoever decided it would be a good idea to use life for your boost.

Nah, that's all good.

The offensive moves are good in those games also.

X is easy peasy.

The SNES one is probably still the best one, but the rest am good.

I liked the N64 one, because it was "That one REALLY fast racing game" that everyone talked about.

It's not even that fast, they just made the tracks all stripey to give that illusion...

You've obviously never played Wipeout 64 at Phantom speed with the Piranha II.

Exactly. I never really found X fast but the little bit of GX I played was a lot faster, even then it seemed like it would be manageable after a bit.

Wipeout is for people who can't do F-Zero.

...Captain Falcon? Hello? You play Smash Bros, for cripes sake.

I had the old SNES F-Zero way back in the day, and after all this talk I feel like I should go buy it on the VC. I missed the N64 and GC releases when they came out, but I bought F-Zero X on the Wii VC when it was released.

I freakin' love it.

You were kind of serious about adopting someone and having an -at least- common law marriage with TLO?

I feel worse for your life than I do for your jokes now.

The adoption bit. Really.

But I've got an image of me on the couch, having a smoke, and then him asking me a question to which I reply, "ask your mother".

Then he asks TLO and replies, "ask your father".

And then he'll be all confused and ignored.

Afterwards, we can beat him with a belt.

Where the ##### did all this marraige bull##### come from? I said I wanted to adopt the sap, not to start a make-believe family. Queers.

If there's anybody I'd "marry", it'd be Mike. Few of his last posts contained my name, so I bet SOMETHING's going on underneath that ninja-hemlet thingy of his. ;)

But whatever. It was for fun, and it's over.

I'm goin' to go look up how good F-Zero GX is since I've yet to play it.

If you like fast games, then you'll love GX.

I'm still having trouble being Chapter 8 of Story Mode. The Grand Prix track is... SUCH a bitch.
