Basically, it's GTA for the Wii with assassins instead of gangs, and laser swords instead of guns.
I'm pumped for it, it's cell shaded (which I'm not a HUGE fan of, but it works for the wii), it's free roaming, and overall looks like a solid action title for the Wii, to be released in February.

Discuss.

ASR, don't judge a book by its' cover.  Do you even know who's making No More Heroes? SUDA51. SUDA-freakin'-51. The guy who made Killer7, which was a pretty bad ass game, even though it was one of the most awkward rail shooters in history.

The only reason GTA was fun is because it was a sandbox game and it was the first real QUALITY one.
Sandbox games aren't fun anymore. I give them chances, but I'm constantly disappointed.

And I never played Killer7, that looked stupid to me as well.

It's a watered down GTA for the Wii....

Travis. His name is Travis. Travis Touchdown, not Trevor.

Reminds me of Killer7.

Like I just got done saying, SUDA51.

Actually, I'd say the weakest thing in the game is the design of Travis. Good thing you can change it.

Yeah, I mean Travis does look pretty weak character wise as well.
I mean he's a Weaboo wearing a pink shirt with anime characters all over it who runs around with a light saber that he has to pleasure to turn on.

Huh, latest article I read had him wearing jeans and a leather jacket with sunglasses (latest Game Informer).

SEE, Mine will be wearing a very hairy chest and a beard with plaid hopefully.

That's #####ing sick! :-D

That.. not so much. :-|

But I'll rent it, I love free roam games and customizable #####. It sounds good. Does it still look like Killer 7? I remember a preview ages ago but I don't know if it's the same anymore. That style is cool but for what this game sounds like, eh, I could take or leave.

I really thought of GTA when I saw a screen of it and the map in the bottom left is just like the one from GTA3, and a shot of Travis running down an alleyway with a glowing 'shop' icon in front of a door. Biggest difference I think, stealing cars may not be in the game, I have no idea as of right now.
It still has that cell-shaded Killer 7 look, as far as I know.
*looks at article in Game Informer*

I see what you mean about the pink shirt.
But on the same page there is a shot of him uppercutting a guy with his sword, and he's spraying gratutitous amounts of blood everywhere. Kill Bill style and then some.
The same guy has coins pouring into the air from his corpse.
Yay for money?

Also, what I can tell from the article is that enemies can wield cro-bars, energy knuckles (like brass knucks except there is an energy beam like the sword, ouch), Rocket launchers, and pistols.
I love free roaming games.

I really couldn't stand Killer7 very long. The rail crap was just annoying and that kind of gameplay makes me jumpy. So I had my friend who was over take over the controlling and we'd figure out what to do together. But it wasn't long after that (in fact it was just after fighting that boss who spews those exploding redead things at you) that we were both tired of it.

Other than the style, I have to say the other cool thing in the game was the line "I'm a cleaner. I can feel no remorse from seeing a dead body."

Okay, whatever, but you have to admit, Killer7 had a story that actually had some balls. I know most people don't play game's for story, but plenty of effort was put into the production of Killer7, can we just all keep that in mind?

Oh, believe me, the story gets better. Like with black guys with Tentacle Afros, an old man who goes around shooting girls and harvesting there organs, then his weaboo daughter comes and tries to kill you, and then Japan gets nuked if you make the right choices.
Games in which Japan gets destroyed are awesome.

No, but you can't go to someone and be like "I wish I had an accent like you" because they'll just be like "You have an accent, I don't". Accents are all perspective if it's different dialects of the same language.

I have still yet to hear what this "British accent" sounds like.

Maybe it's people from Europe that have it.

You know... London and Paris.

Apparently it's people from England that have it as if there was one unified dialect of English there.

Oh, I see what you mean, now. I feel terrible that I'd never thought of that. I've never been in an experience like that, though, but now I have protection.

As for the whole "British accent" thing, around where I live and anywhere else I've discussed it, it's generally just agreed to be a stereotypical generalization of, well, leave me alone. It's the term used to describe it around here. I at least understand that it's a pretty broad statement, and I know how it could be seen as ignorant, but that's just the lingo for it.

If it were up to me, I'd say it was an English accent, but since English is a dominant LANGUAGE of the US, most people just call it a British accent.

My apologies, yowza.

English accent wouldn't be accurate either, because greater London alone doesn't even have one dialect, so you can imagine how diversified all of England is.
