I watched the new Sonic Unleashed thing.

WHY THE HELL would they put IN THE TRAILER a part where you pick up and put down a stone to open a door.
I thought we were done with that!
Everything else looked okay-ish about it.

I see no point in that.

That's what I thought, but my computer was down so it would've been useful at the time.

You could browse other people's tastes in music and have a list of favorites and stuff. I don't know. It's just an idea. Bite me.

Chrono Trigger DS video added to the list.

It's the same as the Japanese one except with English names and writing.

It confirms that the characters will keep their names given to them from the Ted Woolsey SNES translation.

I like how Animal Crossing Wii looks. Although the Mii Face ( I assume its a Mii face ) they show during the trailer looked really out of place in the game...

That Kirby's Superstar is pretty much the same. Looks like they added some cut scenes, but didn't put any effort into redoing the game.

Which is okay, I guess, but both of the SNES Kirby games had crappy art.

Heheh. I just gained access to Nintendo's E3 Press Site. :P

More info if I find any...

Posted on: 15 July 2008, 19:08:16

Well now, theres tons of high resolution pictures here, none of those crappy JPEG files (they're all in BMP... why didn't they make them PNG?).

Anyway, it seems like Animal Crossing will have widescreen support, for those who are into that stuff. All of the images are... wide.

BMP is the raw format without any compression. It's what professionals save source pictures as when they want to compress and edit them later.

Wii Music fails to impress me. I'd rather have either an actual sequencer or a recording studio of some sort.

Barring that, some fake instruments that actually work like the real ones. I could rock that Wii Trumpet for ages.

So did they say anything about a new DS model?

Probably not a remake, seeing the game takes place in China Town.

There's a Chinatown in every decent sized city... Meaning that this game COULD actually take place during Vice City, San Andreas, or anything in Liberty City. They made the Vice City PSP game a sort-of remake as Vice City Stories, since you're a different character and it's a prequel. So they do weirdness like that. Either way, if it's 3D sandbox GTA like the latest ones, I'll probably get it.

I mean... PORTABLE GTA! And not portable top-down GTA-GTA2 style (those games are good, but... Yeah.)!!

I kind of hope it has to do with The Triads and Wu Zi Mu from San Andreas. Even if it's GTA4 related. I just love Wu Zi. 'Course I haven't finished San Andreas yet (almost, no time to play what with jobs).

I've never fully completed a GTA game. I once borrowed a PS2 to play San Andreas, but I didn't play it too much. I got really far in the first PSP one, though. I actually think I might've beaten it, just doing the bare minimum, though.

I just looked at the list of links, that's why.

I've never fully completed a GTA game. I once borrowed a PS2 to play San Andreas, but I didn't play it too much. I got really far in the first PSP one, though. I actually think I might've beaten it, just doing the bare minimum, though.

I still like San Andreas the best of all of them. The story was/is great and it's so much more customizeable than the other games. You can mod cars and everything. GTA4 is cool, but... I don't know. There's things about it that BLAH me right out.

Driving anything anywhere is total ass in it, I generally just cab everywhere I can. I just dislike basically every car (they all drive almost the same anyway) when in the other games I like trying out the cars. The only car I've tried that's a decent drive in GTA4 is the police cars. And motorcycles are total ##### in it.

No trip skip. That's a big one when you're doing the more pesky missions that have you die/fail in cheapo weird ways. But the restart mission thing is great.

Niko... Has basically no character. I realize YOU'RE supposed to be the character, but... Even his reactions to what people say or do. He almost always has the same expression. It's not really an "I don't give a #####" thing, it's more like he doesn't even notice that stuff is happening around him. He looks like a dorkwad in pretty much everything except the suits.

Musically, meh. The benefit of Vice City and San Andreas being set in the past is that all the songs are chosen in hindsight. Hindsight IS 20/20 and it applies to music easily. When you're choosing songs from the 80's or 90's, you have to benefit of most songs being universally received as either good or bad without the difference of opinion that may have happened when the songs came out initially. In GTA4, you get songs from THIS year, which in the future may or may not (more than like not for most of them) be seen as classics from this decade. Like really... "Flashing Lights"? Right.

The whole game is dark, which I guess is actually pretty indicative of what a corrupt place Liberty City is. I guess Liberty City is a take on what the darkside of New York City is supposed to be like. But the environments aren't all just dark, but... Kind of bland. Colour-wise only, because in terms of detail the game is nuts.

And I find movement a bit weird. And the way doors just push open like they're made of DVD-Case plastic or a light fiberglass.

That said, all the new innovations (or just new stuff, rather) are pretty sweet. I just find San Andreas and even Vice City (which I did not initially care for, but plan to borrow and try) have an overall feel that GTA4 has abandoned. It's like a whole new GTAniverse, and it not having connections to the previous games doesn't really help.

During Nintendo's press conference, both me and Teisel kept asking:

"Where's Reggie? Or at least, someone important!" "Yay, it's Iwata/Reggie/Miyamoto" "Oh Jesus, not her again, bring back Reggie!" "Okay... That's kinda neat but..."

Overall: Nintendo showed us some neat things, but nothing too impressive.

Everything I've read just sounds bleh. All standard fare, enough new stuff to satisfy but not blow us away.

Vinch, what's up with the Capcom conference? I'm curious about Bionic Commando and MegaMan 9, obviously.

OFF THE HOOK!

The opening... looks interesting.
Apparently it's been some time since Rock last did anything, from Dr. Light's words.

Maybe the slide and charge were removed because he didn't think he'd have to fight again?

The demo where the guy sucks hardcore at it and doesn't have a clue about the series shows that one platform where that Bolt is under that ledge in a slide fashion, so it's definetely going to be in there somehow.

Now it means we either have to farm bolts until the game is as boring and unfun as R&F, just to get standard gameplay features, or else there's still the big chance that it's downloadable content, since Capcom knows they have the fans by their balls and can squeeze as hard as they want until we pay the money that makes them happy.
