Same.

But I tried running the game and it kept freezing at the loading screen. So I uninstalled it.

Hopefully I can find the damn disc, because I haven't the slightest idea where it could be.. I looked for it everywhere.

I only have, and have only ever played the original Sims. I was playing it for a bit at the start of the summer again. Made my future family. My son was named Portario Gibson Collymore. Haha!

Fight Night Round 3 with my badass new lightweight (7 Wins with 7 KOs, oh yeah) , Tales of Vesperia, Persona 3: FES The Answer, and of course, Megaman 9. So what does everyone think of MM9 anyway? Does it satisfy your hunger for a true continuation, or did it disappoint you? Yes I realize it says Non-Megaman games up top, but I just figured I'd ask a simple question.

Guys, Kirby Super Star Ultra.

It surpasses the original Kirby Super Star.

Well worth the cash. Revenge of the King is pure awesome, Meta-Knightmare Ultra is fun, and the True Arena is THE hardest challenge in any Kirby game.

It looks like they made the controls not so sloppy as the SNES version.
I thought it wreaked of rushed design.

... but then I rank Superstar pretty low on the "decent Kirby game list".
Honestly, Adventure was tops, and Nightmare in Dreamland is the only thing that ever improved on it.
And it's just a remake.

... but this might be worth picking up if it doesn't feel like I'm missing frames every time I take a step.

It feels more like a collection of poorly slapped together mini games than a proper Kirby game.
It is fun, I'll give it that, but it just looks and feels really cheap.

But Revenge of Meta-Knight kicks so much ass it's not even funny.

Great Cave Offensive is awesome and Kirby Superstar or Super Star or "Superstarrrrrrrrrrr!" is awesome but I'm a Dreamland guy.

And I picked up the new Wario game, haven't played it yet. It's the FIRST game I've bought in a store since Brawl...

I'll let you know how it is later.

Wario Land Shake It is...

...great. I mean, I'd rather be playing MegaMan 9 but that's on a whole different level of great.

This new Wario game controls PERFECTLY, and it's got such a great and smoothly drawn animated style which is what really appealed to me as a whole in the first place. I've always loved Wario Land games so this is fantastic. I'm glad I took the risk and bought it.

It's pretty easy, but hell, what do you expect from a Nintendo game nowadays?

It's just very fun and enjoyable. And as Vinch said, the music is ace.

If there's a hard (or even Super Hard) mode in that game like there was in Wario Land 4, then that might prove to be more of a challenge.

I only learned about Super Hard WL4 a few weeks ago, and I still haven't beaten it.
Mind you I only play the game while on bathroom break.

... and now I want Shake It.

I just finished Justice For All.

That last case was really good, and pretty unexpected.

I let Ikeoko borrow Ace Attorney, and when she's finished with that, she can borrow Justice For All.

She mentioned she had Hotel Dusk. I might borrow that in exchange.

Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir

I'm enjoying the game fairly well surprisingly.  It's just so silly.  The gameplay is all pretty much puzzles and where's waldo type scavenger hunts, but the zany artstyle and randomized clue like plot are keeping me playing.  Also, for only $19.99, not a bad price.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on it. I've been thinking of picking it up as well, but just keep hearing so much bitching about it not being made by the regular developers, I don't know what to think. I am going to rent it eventually, once there's a copy available at Blockbuster or the availability becomes high on Gamefly.

Since I need batteries for my Wiimote (Shut up, Rez, we all know you're right about wireless controllers) I decided to play my Xbox, since I downloaded Megaman 9 (trial) and Castle Crashers trial on it yesterday. Because my Wii can't get online at the moment.

So now I am playing Castle Crashers which is fun.

Okay, so here are my feelings on Silent Hill so far:

This installment has been significantly more straight forward than the previous entries. I think it's primarily the influence of the American studio that worked on the game. There's also a significant number of visual cues taken from the movie, lending further credence to the theory. This could be good or bad, depending on whether or not you liked the convoluted nature of the previous games.

The combat is vastly improved, as has been touted. This is simultaneously good and bad, as part of the suspense of previous Silent Hill games was the "Oh #####! I may not survive if I try to fight this thing." factor. The combat makes the enemies feel much more manageable, and takes some of that tension off. Conversely, running from your enemies, a long established option in survival horror, is almost wholly absent. You simply can't run from a number of battles. Perhaps that was intended as a mechanism to balance out your combat skills.

Visually, the game is about as stunning as blood-caked, rusty metal and chains could possibly be. The enemy's are some of the best the series has ever seen (they're honestly a large part of why I play the games in the first place) and the signature static and film-scratch look is there, but mostly limited to cut-scenes. I've read a number of reviews that complained about how dark the game is, but let's be honest... It's Silent Hill. I expect to have extremely limited visibility. You play these games in the dark for the exact same reason.
The only gripe I have with the game visually is that the syncing is abysmal, and a lot of the character models for towns people are generic and lack character.

All in all, I think the game is pretty solid. It's significantly more accessable than the previous titles, so that may alienate the more hardcore SH fans, and it's certainly not as epic as Silent Hill 2, but it's a pretty damn good game none the less.

Many hat tips to Jacobs Ladder, but we'd be lying to ourselves if the series hasn't always had that quality.

It's too early to say if this or Dead Space is going to be a stronger purchase. Silent Hill already has a special place in my heart, so Dead Space is going to have to win me over, but honestly they both seem like pretty worthy titles.

More thoughts as they come.

I've been playing the first Kingdom Hearts on a borrowed PS2. Not bad so far, but it's not all that epic. But I like it. I made a behemoth gummi ship, or at least the biggest I felt like for now, that's 58 pieces. That's probably not a lot later on, but it looks stupid because I don't know how to paint of my pieces either.

I tried MGS3 on it for a while... Eh. I think that game, along with RE, isn't really for me to PLAY, but for me to be the wingman on and help figure things out 'cause I like the story but I'm not so hot at the actual gameplay.

And changing my camo every three seconds and laying down in the grass for five minute HOPING some Ruskie walking super slow two feet from me won't notice this grown man is there did not help.

Although the camo concept is interesting. I miss the radar that show what way the guys are looking, because without it and with the crap camera and everything looking the same I can't get anything done. And furthermore, ##### crocodiles.

I think you buy the paint option from Cid.

I'm currently going back to Crash Bandicoot - Crash: Warped. Boy I missed these games. Also, been mainly playing through Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. Absolutely breath-taking. Surely as hell beats any Call of Duty game.

I've also been going through Medal of Honor and MoH: Underground before I picked up Crash. Is it me, or are the older games so much more fun to play compared to today's #####?

I just beat GTA4.

Pretty decent game, but it was DAMN long and not nearly as good as San Andreas.

I chose the revenge ending, which was decent...
But I'm gonna go back and try the deal ending.

Then I'm just gonna screw around.
But yeah, the game got fairly tedious in the middle. Nothing was building towards anything.

I still can't describe GTAIV without it boiling down to "something's missing". Some kind of quality that San Andreas had.

I can't say I've seen much of the story, and what I've seen is in fragments with me missing stuff in between, but I definitely felt like it was going nowhere. When SA first came out I saw it at a friend or two's the same kind of fragmentedness, but got into it hard.

And having actually now finished it completely, I'm so glad I restarted and did it all. I'm one of the only people I know who actually finished it, which is sad since it ruled so much.

And yeah, I just read the GTAIV ending spoilers there 'cause I don't care at all. And there's no point not taking the taxis in it. Driving anywhere seems pretty useless, and why the hell to motorbikes suck so much all of a sudden? They are my favourite thing to drive in every other GTA. I always max out bike skill before any other vehicle type.

"Bike skill?
What's that?"

-GTA4

Yeah, Motorcycles stink.
I beat San Andreas right through with zero cheating and about 75% completion.
I got golds in all the driving/flying/biking schools.
Maxed out everything with all girlfriends.
And never bothered doing the 'collect' missions (photos, horseshoes, clam shells whatever).

So, Vice City has everything that GTA3 had and then some, and San Andreas had everything that Vice City had, plus a LOT more.
GTA4 lost things in almost every aspect from San Andreas.
Fewer weapons, little customization, no stats, and no fun things to do on the side.

It kept the jumping and climbing mechanics though, that was a good move.

The only girlfriend I wanted to 100% was the cop, because I want the uniform. But I never even made her available to date because I decided to max out the three I had first. Denise takes forever and I don't give a ##### about the pimp suit. I got the mechanic girl but never took her anywhere yet. That casino chick is the easiest because you can just show up in the GIMP suit and the bar goes up super fast.

I don't know if I'm ever going to go bother to do all that now that I've finished the story though. But cop uniform would be SO cool.

Someone here once said that Saint's Row took everything about San Andreas and made it better, and GTAIV did not take anything from Saint's Row.

GTAIV's buildings and stuff are way taller, so I don't see much purpose in jumping other than when specifically needed in a mission. And there's dick all to do on the side then whatever. Although, little things like playing pool is neat. And when Ricky Gervais came out and did like a 15 minute stand up when my friend and I accidentally when into the comedy club... That was awesome.

Tomba! (Tombi, if you're playing PAL).

I'm not sure why I like that game or why I decided to play it, but in a solid six hours today I beat the stuffing out of it (some of that time was used up in lunch and moving furniture though).

Playing through again made me realize that you wind up with a lot of items at the end that seem to have no use whatsoever. Some of the items you do get to use are just there to be kind of cool; you never actually NEED them. Pretty sad, if you ask me. It's like they never finished the game.

And then they made a second game, which I thankfully sold so I never, ever get the urge to play it, let alone touch it again.
It's that bad.

I'm not sure what else to do, though. I found Wild Arms 2, but I'm not sure if I really care to grind for a few days until I have enough levels to beat the special bosses. I hate grinding. Hate hate hate. But I also sort of want to see some of the special scenes.

oh well
