I see $250 on BestBuy.com.

I got mine for $100 from one of my brother's friends. Plus he threw in Rayman: Raving Rabbids for free, and two controllers.

Best deal ever.

That was back when I had completely stopped playing videogames. I probably would have never gotten a Wii if it weren't for that fantastic deal I was offerred.

Best part is, I bought it with all my own money so the Wii is exclusively mine, while the first 360 we had was paid for by my parents, so even though my brother used it more often than I did, it was still technically mine, too.

I never let my brother use my Wii. Not that he's ever wanted to. But sshhhhh.

But yeah, the story of how I got my own 360 is even dumber. My brother's 360 got RROD'd, so he sent it in. The impatient bastard made my dad buy him a new one while he waited, and then he broke that one, too.

So, we got that one repaired but couldn't return it, so we had two.

I got the other one.

There's different variations on the 360 story depending on what mood I'm in, because I'm pretty sure that's not exactly how it happened since I never got the full story. I just got a free 360 and didn't ask questions.

BestBuy says 280 in Canada Land. Walmart sells it for 270, which ends up being about 305 in the end, BestBuy is worst buy.

I'd rather buy the Wii used if it's gonna cost 3 bills.

Uhm. I don't remember my Wii being over 350, maybe a bit less.

360's are a 299 here or somethinglowenough-99.

They were just lowered to $199.99 USD here. Don't know what that translated to in Canuck Bucks.

Roughly 199.99. At least that's what the commercials say. I was going to post that originally but thought it was REALLY low sounding. But you just confirmed.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised. My brother got his first 360 via eBay back when they FIRST came out and were sold out everywhere. My dad paid like $550 for it.

Totally right. I wait 'til Christmas and buy the desired system with my own money. I don't get such luxury as getting one out of the blue.

No, I mean, my brother (who is younger than me and thus amplifies all of this) is a spoiled bastard who has like 6 iPods to my one, gets every game and game system he wants WHEN he wants it, gets those really expensive headsets and earplugs for XBOX Live! and gets XBOX Live! renewed every year while I don't and never have had XBOX Live!

That last exclamation point was a real one, not part of the "XBOX Live!" thing.

XBOX Live Arcade. Where you download all the downloadable games, DLC for retail games, etc. Part of the Marketplace, which sells useless crap like Gamer Pictures and Menu Themes.

It's basically the Virtual Console/WiiWare of the XBOX 360.

Is that the Penny-Arcade game? Yeah. I saw it on the menu there.

SO. IN OTHER NEWS THAT IS VERY RELATED TO THIS DISCUSSION.

I did a naughty thing. I sent help@gamestop.com an e-mail saying that... that... that I pre-ordered Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts from one of their stores but never recieved my Pre-Order bonus code to download the original game off of XBLA for free.

WHICH IS A LIE.

But... but... surprisingly, they aplogized for my fictional predicament and sent me a code.

So. I undeservingly have a free download for the original Banjo-Kazooie on XBLA.

BUT! Karma is against me!

That New XBOX Experience apparently went online today, forcing anybody connected to the internet with their 360 to update.

It's basically a complete overhaul of the XBOX Dashboard and interface and stuff.

It's rather nice, really. There's those Avatars that are complete rip-offs of Mii's but of much better quality and admittedly look a great deal better than Mii's. It forced me to make my own before I could run off to enter my free promo code and download Banjo-Kazooie.

BUT.

Apparently Microsoft's servers have been going bat##### crazy all day because of this massive new update, and the Marketplace has been down all day so I've been unable to download my treasured and undeserved Banjo-Kazooie because of some stupid massive update that I really could care less about.

I think the best part of this story is where I lied and got a free code.

If you already own Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts why do you want to download it and not pass the code off to you're sexy biracial ninjistic friend instead?

Is that the Penny-Arcade game? Yeah. I saw it on the menu there.

Yep. Played the demo at my friend's and it looked great.

What kind of game is that Penny-Arcade game? I know nothing about it.

And that code is for the ORIGINAL Banjo-Kazooie. N64 version. Microsoft won the battle and is getting both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie released on XBLA.

If you pre-ordered BK:N&B, you got a pre-order code to get the original BK 2 weeks early, and free. It'll be available to the public to download on Nov. 26, I guess.

But yeah, for the longest time I've been meaning to re-buy an N64 and the first game I was going to buy for it was going to be Banjo-Kazooie.

Since I'm lazy and this is much easier, downloading it on XBLA is the method I've chosen.

Oh, and I did that silly free code e-mail thing twice, so I have two codes. I'll happily give one away to somebody here with an XBLA as soon as I recieve it via e-mail.

The Penny-Arcade game is a turn-based rpg set in the comic-book-meets-pulp-horror-meets-H.P. Lovecraft deranged 1920s universe of New Arcadia, delivering mature and compelling entertainment to gamers via accessible episodic delivery. It's relatively humorous of what I've played, although, I've only played the demo on my computer, so...

It's not that it's a bad game, it's just shallower than advertised.

Still, I played all the way through it, and cared enough to get all of it's achievements.

I'm also pretty starved for decent RPGs lately, since any of the ones worth owning are on the 360.

I popped in a few of my games to see if there were any updates for them, including Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. I played around twenty minutes of it.

Holy god, that game is amazing. I can't wait until they release the bigger text update (supposedly it'll be out soon) so I can play it without standing right in front of my TV. I can't wait until I get to really start building stuff.

I also played some more Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Still awesome. Captain Marvel is fun to play as, as is Joker.

Also played some Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal. It's okay...it feels like Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, only with more camera issues. It's good to have stuff that my cousin's kids can play when they come to visit.

I have friends, who I doubt have played it, read reviews about Banjo and told me it blows.

By the sound of it, I'd say otherwise.

I kind of want to play to play Mortal Kombat VS DC. Just for a little bit.

And it only gets exponentially better as you get more and more parts and find more and more to do.

It was my only problem with the vehicle building in Kingdom Hearts, as all strongest blocks had edges that, no matter what colour you picked for your block, were another colour that clashed wildly with it. So I made my ship white (which had the only acceptable edges of any colour; grey) with some solid greens.

When I get this, I'll probably try making a motorcycle first.

In Original Banjo-Kazooie news: I'm at Click-Clock Wood finally. (There's no "S" after "Wood"! I didn't know that!)

I've 100%'d everything I've come across so far. It's a lot easier now that I'm older. Although, admittedly, the game jumps in difficulty right around Mad Monster Mansion. Rusty Bucket Bay is actually really hard. I couldn't find these 4 notes for about 30 minutes. Just roaming around the level in vain... but I got 'em.

Apparently I can just walk in and do Grunty's Game Show without even entering Click Clock Wood, which I never knew was possible since I've never had this many notes before Click Clock Wood anyway. But, I'm still gonna' do Click Clock first.

When I get decent parts, I'll go nuts. All I've managed to make that I like right now is a crappy little pretend motorcycle with the traction wheel up front and standard in the back, and a ramming arm up front. It's only good for getting from point A to B and in races, but you can't do anything else with it at all.

I have a replay of the fight for that coconut, which was literally 4 seconds long. 4 seconds is a stretch too. It was just "1 2 3 go" bamf over.
