I already played and beat Portal.
I just want to use the portal gun in practical situations, like in Half Life 2.

It really, really doesn't help much.
Better off nabbing Garry's Mod as well, since then you can play through just about anything with the portal gun.

Well, yes.
Even if you buy it with the box it still usually installs the game through Steam (or from the box and registers it with Steam, etc).

Yeah, John, even if you buy the actual CD, it just installs Steam on your computer and it gets installed the exact same way as it would if you were just downloading it.

Yes you can. The necessary files are all local (although if you need to save space I think there's a mode where it only downloads some bits, but I never worry about it).

There are just stupid things Steam makes you do and sometimes you have to be connected to the internet. But it doesn't make a difference whether or not you have the disc.

It's pretty iconic, I think. Nothing wrong with a little complexity, and to be honest, making this thing look more simple would be quite the feat anyway.
You may want to remove that awful yellow color though.

Hey, could it be Slugster? I've been using that here or there, and I like it a little better than Sluggo.
Also, do I have to make my own cirlce avatar thingy, or you will awesomely make it for me? If you do, the color is purple.
Now that I think about it my character's "powers" are pretty lame, so I'll just add poison to the saliva and it's poisonous saliva. Yeah.

Hm, name needs work, I'm leaning towards the Preventer TOTALLY SLIMES ##### UP AND MAKES STUFF STINKY AND MESSY. But that's just me.

Or maybe Preventer SLIME, you can slime the enemies to death, it could get in their mouth and under their finger nails, which would totally piss them off.
