Title: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Xzeemo on 29 December 2007, 17:00:52
Has anyone ever heard anything about this. Because I wish it would happen. My Legends 2 doesn't want to play on my PS2 anymore and I can't find a copy of Legends 1. I would love for Capcom to do this, even though they won't, because they hate their loyal fanbase. :( But we can hope, maybe...

A Legends collection? I really hope Capcom release it here.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Abominator on 29 December 2007, 17:09:11
Due to the fact that no-one bought MML the first time around, I don't see this happening.

[sarcasm] Yea, that and Capcom is way too busy with Starforce. [/sarcasm]

Worry not Xzeemo, as I have found you a cheap, affordable (http://cgi.ebay.com/Mega-Man-Legends-2-Playstation-Factory-Sealed-PS2-PS3_W0QQitemZ220187077962QQihZ012QQcategoryZ62053QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) copy of Legends 2!

That's pretty outrageous, huh, especially for a less popular game like Legends. As a Legends collection is all in all very unlikely, I'd tell you to check eBay for Legends 2, but as you can see, the selection isn't so good unless you want to dole out $50...though I think you should still be able to find Legends rather cheap on eBay.

O.O IS U SERIAL???

Wow, that's pretty crazy. I have Legends 2, but I need to get it fixed I guess so that'll play on my PS2. But I'm searching for Legends 1.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Mikero on 29 December 2007, 18:44:06
I see Legends 2 at a Microplay that used to be further out in the GOA (Greater Ottawa Area, what) all the time. I don't know if it's still there after the move or what, but I never found original Legends there.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Dopefish on 30 December 2007, 00:22:41
Some old PS2s won't play PS1 games after awhile. IF you call Sony, send in your old one, and they will give you a referb for 50$.

For a slightly cheaper alternative:

You can void your warrantee, and spray it out with a compressed air can. Dust your PS2 out regularly....dust KILLS PS2s!

As for the Legends collection I can't see it happening....There is only 2 games; and they are both compatible with every Playstation platform.

You are missing TMOTB.
But it's still not much, so they might do it when they release MML3. If they do, that is.

Due to the fact that no-one bought MML the first time around, I don't see this happening.

And the fact the other two "Anniversay" collections were #####ed up beyone what should be allowable from a professional company?  Wouldn't buy it even if they made it given how poor/nerfed the ports would be.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Mikero on 30 December 2007, 10:56:22
I'd buy it but only because I can't play them otherwise and I've only gotten a little bit into MML each time I've played.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Dopefish on 30 December 2007, 19:40:14
You are missing TMOTB.

Yeah I suppose your right; Tron would have to be included.

Holy crappers, I didn't know Legends was worth so much! Its about the same price as Marvel VS. Capcom!

Good thing I got a copy for 30$ a long time ago....I should have bought more.... :o

*builds time machine*
*goes back in time*

But I'm searching for Legends 1.

You can get Legends 1 for about 8$ on Amazon.com.

I REALLY wish I bought Legends 2 when they still had those blue bomber commercials, it's so expensive for a new/bariely used copy nowadays.

What if Capcom remakes Legends 1 and 2 for the Wii with updated graphics but the same voice acting and gameplay mechanics?

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Abominator on 30 December 2007, 22:08:50
Ain't gonna happen.

We'll get MM64 on VC and a pat on the head.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: TheRedPriest on 30 December 2007, 22:43:59
Pass on MM64.  It was quite inferrior to it's PS1 counterpart.

But that's what we'll get.

Pass on MM64.  It was quite inferrior to it's PS1 counterpart.

True. I didn't know about all the errors in the port that was said about it, but when my friend played it years ago, I could already tell that the audio was downgraded. I already own my own hard copy so I could care less if it made it to the Wii Shop Channel or not. What I want is some Legends 2, and maybe Tron Bonne.

But I'm not sure if MM64 would even make it onto the VC. I mean, it is just a Playstation Port, so Sony has rights to it right? Then again, it's a Nintendo product now...

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Dopefish on 30 December 2007, 23:10:28
I almost like the PC version of MM Legends the best....The graphics are Sooo much better than the blocky PS1 version. I own every possible Legends game(excluding MM64), so I'm not worried about any of them making their way to the Wii. I couldn't download them anyway....Stupid dial-up.

What if Capcom remakes Legends 1 and 2 for the Wii with updated graphics but the same voice acting and gameplay mechanics?

You can dream, but sadly, Capcom likes to crush people's dreams.

Doesn't matter who got it first, Capcom can do what they want with the game and port it to any console they like. Sony have no rights to the game.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection

That's what I was thinking too, hence the whole "it's a Nintendo product now..." bit.

If its financially worthwhile Capcom will go for it. The problem is I don't think it is. :(

Personally I would rather see effort put into Legends 3, instead of messing around with re-releases.

Don't forget the piss poor ports of Dash 1 & 2 to PSP.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Voulnet on 31 December 2007, 17:47:58
I didn't even touch that, not going to.
Last week I replayed MML1 and MOTB, and damn they're good. Capcom are assholes for not making MML3.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: TheRedPriest on 31 December 2007, 17:53:22
Look at BN 4-6, MMZ, ZX, SF and X7-X8 and tell me you want these people working on Legends 3?

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Voulnet on 31 December 2007, 18:17:09
Never played any of those, Rez. I don't even consider this Starforce thing a MegaMan game. However, that shouldn't be an obstacle. It's not like they don't have the old DASH team or any other good development team.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: TheRedPriest on 31 December 2007, 19:10:13
That team pretty much did Battle Network.  And look where it went.  And any Legends 3 will be set for auto fail because it's now auto locked into MMZ/ZX's continuity.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Voulnet on 31 December 2007, 19:23:39
Doesn't have to end up like that, that reason shouldn't stop any plans for a glorious MML3, Rez. If Inafune truly loves MML like he claims, and if he got the power he said he needed to give it a go, then he can by all means make it a great game. We know they can, the assholes.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: TheRedPriest on 31 December 2007, 19:51:44
It WON'T be a great game if it's myered in the cesspool of current continuity.  And to be frank, I can't say I'm even confidant they'll keep the gameplay the same (seeing as how it works very well).  I'd LOVE to have a sweet new Legends game, but it won't EVER happen if it's made.

How about they make The Misadventures of Glyde?

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Aych on 31 December 2007, 20:14:51
...Y'know, that actually sounds like it could be interesting.

On the other hand, it might be boring, as a misadventure for Gylde is probably not having enough hair gel to make himself faaaabulous!

I have the original 3/2 floppy disk for Lemmings.

Of course I think its downloadable on Abandonia (http://www.abandonia.com/) now...

Yeah, hehe; just as I thought...Here is a link:

Lemmings (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/37)

You NEED DOSbox to load it though.

On the other hand, it might be boring, as a misadventure for Gylde is probably not having enough hair gel to make himself faaaabulous!

Haha! That made me laugh, Glyde has some problems I think.  :D

Abandonia is completely legal, They ask permission from the original companies.

And the other game I posted(Commander  Keen 4) is shareware.

But I obey rules; so I'm sorry.

Won't happen again.

You can download a mod for your Jesus apps (it works on all versions 'cause it just rewrites some bible code or something) that makes is so your Jesus can just go from infancy to manhood just like that. None of that in-between trials and tribulations hub-bub.

Personally I'd rather one that keeps my Jesus as little baby Jesus, who's sitting in his crib watching the baby Einstein videos learning about shapes and colors.

Jesus 1.0 is incompatible with Windows Vista, and has few USB ports.

I still have to use my old version, 0.7. Just goes to show, nothing is mac compatible.

Dumbass, Macs are Buddhist monks. PCs are the patron saints of Christian computing. Linux... We don't talk about them.

Anyway for Mac you just need to run a Bahai patch and then you get to run any Jesus and all the old Buddhist apps. I think the Intel Macbooks have it built-in though.

Okay are we done here?

Did I say home console? I don't think so.

Release it on the next gen portable system. It'll match the screen, and it won't play like cell phone #####.

They could also release it now and put in unnecessary filler or something. Maybe a graphical update?

Did I say home console? I don't think so.

Release it on the next gen portable system.

I wonder if the DS could handle it? Maybe not even as a collection, but if they ported each individual game to it maybe it could work. The graphic capabilities would be similar. I really really doubt it will happen though.

Another thing though, could Capcom even put it onto a DS? Or would they have to put it on PSP since the originals were for Playstation?

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection

The DS doesn't have enough buttons.
For that matter, neither does the PSP.

Resident Evil looked "fine" on DS.  It can handle PS1 games well enough minues L2/R2 buttons.  Anyway, I'd prefer it on DS if they ported them just because the DS is the superior gaming machine.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Chron on 26 September 2008, 21:42:21
You need every almost button on the PSX controller to play Legends properly.
I can't think of any way to double them up and not have thumb problems on either handheld.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Mikero on 27 September 2008, 22:11:11
We're kind of ignoring that ChaosVortex said release it on the NEXT gen portable system. Which is a good idea. We've no clue as to what that would be like yet.

The DS could handle it graphically, I'm sure. I don't know about the buttons thing because there is the touch screen, which can be anywhere from one to infinity buttons. You could rotate the camera on there like with Mario 64DS, which turned out better than the original in probably every conceivable way.

Title: Re: Legends Anniversary Collection
Post by: Chron on 28 September 2008, 01:21:38
CV may have said that, but I was replying to Xzeebob-whatsit.

Except in Legends you use the top shoulder buttons for turn/strafe, and the lower ones are for targeting and camera movement. The cam movement could certainly be done with the touch screen, since you don't move when you use it, but not so for the lock-on.

Since typically you lock on, fire, and might jump/move at the same time, requiring your left thumb, with the only other possible place for the lock on to be on one of the four face buttons, which are already taken for buster, jump, special weapon and jet skates/examine.

The PSP has the same problem.

Now, assuming that you have three or four shoulder buttons on a next-gen handheld, it might work out.
