Title: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Abominator on 2 December 2007, 18:07:57
This topic exists in the hope that newcomers to MMM will not clog the forum with one-question topics, and topics that have already been raised several times.

Basically, it exists to solve simple pleas, so if you're looking for help in a Battle Network Series game, or you have a simple question about this series, ask it here.

Any speculation as to why neither PharaohMan.exe or any other WWW navis never showed up after MMBN2? There's no logical explanation, other than the fact that Megaman permanently deleted him in their duel in the WWW Area; as unlikely as that is.

but Bass isn't technically part of WWW

though ALL of the WWW navis are in battlechip challange... <.<;

That game shouldn't even exist, though. It's like... ugh. I mean... why?

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: NovaMan XP on 4 December 2007, 21:10:15
BCC is not a game. Just an easy way for Inticreates and Capcom to rake in money by making a GBA Movie in sprite form.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: SB on 5 December 2007, 03:54:55
BCC was a pretty fun WSC game, and it's enjoyable in it's own merit.

Though... Was there any other better character to use beside Slash Beast or Beastman or whatever his name was? You know, the broken guy that attacked three times at the start of his turn and then had his chip combo's to use.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: ASR on 5 December 2007, 04:31:02
Was he in the GBA one?

Either way, I'm going to explain my experiences with that game:

I hadn't played a BN game in ages, and I decided to give it another. I heard BCC was fun, and I gave I bought it on a whim.

The end.

(People died.)

OK, I've got few questions. In BN 6 Falzar, how am I supposed to get the secret chips? And when/if I get them, how do I power the SP chips up or are they at their max power when I get them? Oh, and can I fight the Link Navies in the Graveyard Area in any way, as they have their tombstones there?

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: NovaMan XP on 7 December 2007, 02:01:31
I think if you beat them in under 10 seconds you get max power. Or at least that's how it is in Star Force..

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Fetitoh on 7 December 2007, 09:09:57
And then I suppose I can fight the Gregar Link Navies in Falzar? Oh yeah, that leads me to another question. What's the best way to delete GroundMan under ten secs? I have a strategy that works for everyone except him, 'cause during his attacks he always moves to my area.
EDIT: ... I have no Idea why that was double-posted.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES

Panelout3 would probably stop him invading your area.

Fireman, Elecman, Napalman...you didn't mention Shadowman or Knightman. Anyway that was only a partial answer to my question. Why doesn't Pharaohman.exe re-appear?

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: NovaMan XP on 8 December 2007, 05:50:54
Because Capcom decided not to use him anymore.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: SB on 8 December 2007, 07:42:37
If you want to be HONEST about it and go by canon, he was deleted prior to MMBN 2, in Transmission.

Truth be told, the extra areas never hold any barring to the actual game plots, and are just extras for players to continue on in the game and not feel ripped off. MMBN 5 TP would have been MUCH more awkward when you got to Napalm Man if Megaman really fought him in the extra area of MMBN 2.
Face it, Bass was introduced as an extra in the first game, and at the end of the second one, he was constantly talked about and even had a copy of him to fight. Based on the Pharoah Man logic, Lan and Mega would have already known he was Bass, instead of being so suprised when the copy was unvieled.
Just saying.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Panda on 16 December 2007, 01:28:17
Because I have hope, Kamon. Because I have hope.

One day I'll pick up a BN game, or even NT or CC, and I'll play it and have fun. I swear I will one day, perhaps after visits from the Ghost of Battle Network Past, Present and Yet to Come.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES

Ghost of Battle Network Yet To Come? You're gonna be in for a long wait.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Panda on 16 December 2007, 01:48:06
It will take me to a future where I'll be standing over the grave of BN and everyone around me will be laughing and making fun of it, "the worst RPG ever" they will call it. I'll then be put back in the present where I'll spend time with BN while it's still alive, I'll buy it the biggest turkey from the butcher just so it won't feel so bad about being a terrible game, and we'll make fun of Star Force together until the cows come home.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES

I don't think BN is bad, though. Just some of the fans.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Cherry on 16 December 2007, 16:32:07
I like BN, but 4 and 5 in particular are absolute failures as far as I'm concerned.  I only occasionally insert one of those cartridges into my GBA whenever I feel like making a halfhearted attempt at trying to connect my folder theme throughout the series.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Kamon on 16 December 2007, 16:38:44
5 was better than 4 by a long shot, but it was still lacking compared to the first 3 games. 6 is pretty much the same, an improvement over the previous title in some aspects but still lacking in others.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: Mikero on 16 December 2007, 18:21:41
I never bothered to buy past 4. Frankly, I was mildly disappointed in 3 since 2 completely topped it, and 4 was just puke.

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: ChaosVortex on 16 December 2007, 22:22:15
Personally, I thought battling in BN3 was much more fun than 2, but yes. BN2's storyline creates no competition.

I'd like to take a moment to bring up Sano.

Anyway, when I saw this guy mention a second chance, I just pictured this eager little kid staring at the MMM site with a "You've Been Banned" message on the screen, constantly clicking Refresh, and then suddenly it allows him to create a new account and happy music starts playing.

OkOkOK i really need help. I'm playign Megaman Battle Netowrk 6 Gregar. I have 199 in my standard library. The chip im missing is Justice One >:(

I know the way to obtain it is to go through a traddign cycle of about 5 people. Welll, The first trade is like this.
Give - Energy Bomb K
Get- Double Shot C

I did that trade. When i first started playing. And a few minutes later i thought "what the hell, i dotn need Double Shot C, its a n00b chip" so i throw it in the chip trader.

Just a little while ago i firgured out that the only way to get Justice One is through the trading process, where the second trade is like this:
Give - Double Shot C

I can see that. Now locate yourself to the nearest chainsaw, and apply it to your face.

That should solve your BN6 problem.

Isn't there also Higsby's chip shop where you can do that chip ordering service? I know it was in MMBN3 so I figure it'd be in 6 also, try that

If I were on my regular computer, I might've made it into another "saved Abe post" image.

I gotta a similar idea. I'll get right on it.

When not busy.

Twas done very quickly.

I imagined Abe as walking off very slowly and laughing hysterically with his head cocked back like a crazed psychotic that has finally gone through his last straw and is finally snapping.

Not running off like Sonic.

Regardless, the second panel, with Dreadripper standing there so casually and waving around his PSP... so perfect.

Abe wasn't running.

He wasn't being serious about his "love" either, so you've both got it backasswards.

Neither was I, so you've seen it too seriously.

You made him say it seriously, and have floaty hearts around him. I see what you drew, so if I've seen it too seriously it's because you drew it that way.

Someone should draw ASR's scenario.
It works way better.

Uh.
...
... Battle Network. Inquiry.
Not "Enquiry".

Hey, just how many network joke names are there in these games?
I only played the first, and just remember LAN and Hub.

I really don't feel like running around looking for this right now, so I'll just ask.

How do I get the Moonstone? I'm already in UndernetZero already. I know about the hole behind the giant tree, but I'm through the entrance that requires me to count "the flames of hatred".

Of course, this is BN6.

To be honest, I don't remember that part at ALL... although I played Gregia or whatever. I actually don't remember very much about BN6... it's not very memorable.

Nevermind, I found it.

I was making it way too complicated that what it actually was. Simple.

And now, I'm off to evolve my Clefairy.

I'm wondering why BN5 never featured Nintendo Wi-Fi even though it was ported to DS. Isn't that the point of Battle Network, to battle with Net Navis over the world wide web?

And dieing. A lot. That is, if you're interested in after stories and don't abuse one of three uber strategies:
Sanctuary/Holy Panl + Lifeaura
Bassv1/2/3 / meteors + Waaay too many area and panl grab chips
Wood/fire/elec/watrGospel alone, lol
Without them, BassDelux on Hard mode is living heck

Title: Re: GENERAL BATTLE NETWORK SERIES ENQUIRIES
Post by: NovaMan XP on 1 October 2009, 00:45:04
I could never beat Gospel on Hard Mode. I always ran out of chips when he got around under 1000 so he'd destroy me with Gospel Breath's 2x weakness.

And after working so hard to get to that point... this feels like the first time I fought Gospel years ago, except this feels more impossible.

Living "heck"? Really?

And dieing.

I don't want to be a dick about it, but this one really irks me. You mean "dying". Unless of course you mean the point of BN is shaping things with a die.
