Fortunately, my gaming will never be ruined because I find nearly infinite replay value in most of my favourite games (I could play a game like StarCraft or Mega Man X or TIE Fighter pretty much forever).

17 can't be done, unless you let the first Maverick fight not count. All the rest I've done before, except for that silly 10 minutes nonsense. Completing the game without the leg upgrade is not as hard as it sounds. What IS as hard as it sounds is completing the game without the leg upgrade and with only the X-Buster.

Lots of Pink Floyd. :3 I approve. They're more or less the only band I have a high enough opinion of to physically collect (various "resources" of a computing science major being what they are), although I almost went and made my way through the Eagles' discography once.

With my internet on the fritz and too unstable to reliably play games online these days (3-400 ms ping spikes every 4-5 seconds, and I'm too lazy to check it out) I've been playing a lot of old games (TIE Fighter and Monkey Island games mostly) AND finally got around to finishing Cave Story.
Amazing.
Now that I have beaten it once the normal way without help I consider myself in the right to consult guides and do a 100% run for all the wonderful bonus stuff. Which I am about to continue right now because I just got back from work and am in no condition to sleep. But yeah I wish I'd played it five years ago when I first heard of it but I guess now is good enough.

I have no specific issue with the 360, I simply consider it superfluous. For platformers and quirky games I have a Wii and DS (well actually two of them now that I have a dsi but whatever), and for everything else (including what are so arrogantly referred to as "hardcore" games - is there something more "hardcore" about, say, Half-Life than there is about, say, Yoshi's Island? Like seriously, guys, a game is a game, it's for fun) I'd have much more fun playing on a PC than on a console.
EDIT: Actually I do have a problem with the 360, I almost forgot about it.
Subscription-based internet services. We're already paying for our internet AND in some cases for online games via the internet, why levy an ADDITIONAL charge for services we can get for free on a PC?

360/PS3 release instantly kills any chance of my playing it, unless they wise up and give me a PC version, because there is no game or combination of games that could ever compel me to get a 360 or PS3.

Lots of my most vivid dreams either become stories or are incorporated into them, because apparently I have a bit of a plot-oriented subconscious and I'm not one to pass up free ideas.

Finally got around to doing a complete playthrough of Half-Life 2. I'd gotten about 2-3 levels from the finish in my last one, but the save file was safely tucked away on a laptop I'll never touch again. Just finished it about half an hour ago.
Wow. Can't believe how much I missed just in those couple of levels.
Now picking up where I left off in Ep.1, though I kind of screwed myself over heading into the first zombie level :O

To be fair, in the video description it says that the animator is looking to make it an actual game in some game-maker program, but that's so far off in the distance that I won't even bother.

IIRC Ikaruga is on XBLA, so I'd suggest picking that up if you like shmups that fill the screen with bullets
Is that the one where you have to flip your ship to kill different colors enemies? I've played the demo before; it seemed pretty insane but I wasn't sure if I liked it.
That's exactly the game I was talking about, and yeah it's not for everyone. If I had a 360 I personally would pick it up without a second thought though.

Possibly because I did not check up afterwards, it took me about 30-40 spammed-out resumes/applications to get my current job.
Apply everywhere. Seriously. Everywhere. Everyone is looking for cushy jobs, you should expand your search area beyond just those highly-sought-after jobs and maybe, just maybe, someone will be willing to have you on.

Sunday I finally fully realized what I'd signed up for. It was hell.
Today (well yesterday by now, whatever) was much easier, to the point that I, on my fifth shift no less, was able to keep the dish area more or less under control alone.
I hope to have more of the latter shifts than the former, although the former are better for my wallet with the tip pool and all.

Same here.
Also happened to find a physical copy of the studio version of On an Island by David Gilmour (you'd think it would have been easier to find, being only a couple years old, but noooo I'd been hunting it down for almost a year).
Already knew it would be good from the live version I already had, but still it impressed me. Gilmour's always been my favourite guitarist and among my favourite musicians, and he did not let me down.

The Xtreme games suffered from a shortage of buttons and trying to translate the music from 8-channel PCM to 3-4 channels PSG (which was done remarkably well in some places but not so much others).
15 minutes with MMZ was enough to put me off that series.
Have not played ZX, but ZXA was worth my $10, if only barely.
I have BN2-3 and love them both.
MM&B is fun enough, but it suffered from the port, partially a not-enough-buttons problem like Xtreme, partially a music problem (listen to the SFC soundtrack then the GBA soundtrack and you'll know what I mean), and most of all a screen size problem (the lower resolution of the GBA forced them to cut portions of the screen out).
