No one at the Matrix truly knows what irony means.

... Excuse you?

Current: Critters 4

1003  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Let's talk cars! on: 24 February 2008, 05:02:32
Yeah, unless you piss gas, I'd avoid Trucks or SUVs.

Try to find a Honda Civic (hatchback), they're a pretty good bet all the way around...

... except for insurance costs. Number one stolen car in America.
1004  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 24 February 2008, 04:58:54
Only?
1005  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Devil May Cry on: 23 February 2008, 18:30:36
What Mike is getting at is that it takes TIME to be established as the black sheep.

I'd say trying to be the black sheep pretty much exempts you from being one anyway.

I have a cousin who always talks about how he's our families black sheep. The irony of this being that he has said conversations with... my family.

If you're talking to us about how you're an outcast, obviously you're not.
1006  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 23 February 2008, 18:10:11
Dude, Juggalo homies are down with the clown for life, Yo.

You're just hatin' cause you eat jellysickles.

He'd spam the hell out of us?
1008  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Let's talk cars! on: 23 February 2008, 18:07:01
No such thing as a cheap affordable car you won't regret in the future.

Cheap cars hemorrhage money.

I stand by what I said about Honda's and Toyota's. Try and find one used.

Check college newspapers.

*laughs* The rarity with which Abe posts makes that comment all the sweeter.

The L block from Tetris won GameFAQs last character battle, so that wouldn't surprise me.

I'm also amazed it wasn't gone as soon as it was in his hand.

New Topic: Does anyone know why some names appear in blue on the online user list while others are white?

There doesn't appear to be any apparent pattern.

... or I've been drinking, and it's slowed my cognitive abilities enough to miss the connection.
1015  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show Yourselves! on: 22 February 2008, 06:06:46
Ahh. See, without knowing that, you just seemed to be talking to yourself, or at the very least oblivious to the conversation that was going on.
1016  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 22 February 2008, 06:04:54
Just started Mario Galaxy.

Outside of the wonkey camera and ambiguous gravitational fields, it's not half bad.

Though it's still no Mario 64

Long story short here: Use whatever browser you like best, since it's clear there's no consensus, and I highly doubt there ever will be.

They can be made, but it will involve things we are forbidden to speak of.

Indeed it does.

R.I.P. OiNK.
1022  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 18:21:26
Fantastic question, though sadly it's rhetorical.

While logical deduction would suggest that what you propose is true, the sheer number of variables makes testing your conclusion impossible.

Frankly, I don't necessarily believe that any of us have free will, but I'm also okay with that fact.
1023  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 21 February 2008, 18:10:55
As much as I love Duke Nukem, I'm afraid the extensively prolonged waiting period for a new game has given me unrealistic expectations for the game.

Honestly, with as long as it has taken thus far, it had better be the most astonishing game I've played in a long time...

...and give BJs.
1024  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: What Programs are Must Haves? on: 21 February 2008, 18:06:53
If I'm listening to music, I use Winamp.

If I'm tagging my MP3s, I use MediaMonkey.

If I'm chatting, I use Trillian (Astra)

If I'm browsing, I use Firefox.

I use Thunderbird for E-mail

Sunbird for scheduling

and µTorrent for, well, torrents.

the #####tacular Microsoft Office (especially the new 07 lets make the program unusable with a complete ##### new interface version).

I like office 07 just fine. It took some adjusting, but it's significantly more intuitive.

Sometimes I wonder if you're just doing the old man thing and disliking something simply because it's different.
1025  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 06:08:10
Exactly.

Recreational pretension is the sport of NOW!
1026  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Waluigi sounds wanted on: 21 February 2008, 06:06:59
I'm only aware of the word warui.

I also seriously question the existence of the word igiwalui, since there are no L's in japanese to romanjii translation, and I can't think of any instance in which I've known 'igi' to be 'person'

1027  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 06:00:19
I didn't have one.

Duh.

I love when people ask philosophical questions that have no real answers.
1029  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My Birthday is Tomorrow(Thursday) on: 21 February 2008, 05:37:33
So we can get molested?

I'd go to church if that was what I wanted.
1030  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 05:36:59
The increased probability caused by their presence suggests otherwise.

Try talking to a man with a low sperm count sometime, and see if the thinks numbers matter when it comes to overall purpose.
1031  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Top Video Game Characters on: 21 February 2008, 05:32:15
HOW DARE THEY?!?
1032  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 05:31:12
I feel like I'm talking to a wall.

Yes, not all sperm make it to the goal line, but the whole reason for having such a large team is so that at least one of them scores.
1033  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My Birthday is Tomorrow(Thursday) on: 21 February 2008, 05:29:46
It only gets worse.
1034  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 05:28:43
Survival traits don't serve as purposes. They serve as functions.

...

Function: The kind of action or activity proper to a person, thing, or institution; the purpose for which something is designed or exists; role.

So... a function is a purpose.

So... the number of sperm, which you claim to be a survival trait and therefore a function, is...

WAH NA NA!

A purpose!

OMG!
1035  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 05:20:26
The purpose of sperm is to fertilize.

Fertilize.

Sheer numbers are a survival thing, not a purpose thing. A sperm is not created solely for the purpose of moving the other sperm.

Am I to understand then that a 'survival thing' is not a purpose? The end goal is fertilization, yes, but the numbers are there to facilitate that goal. Increased probability is a function, regardless of what you think.
1036  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My Birthday is Tomorrow(Thursday) on: 21 February 2008, 05:17:42
How very counterculture of you. Your coolness has now reached epic proportions.

Meanwhile, back off the topic we aren't supposed to discuss:

I can't imagine drowning is that bad.

Supposedly your bodies response to the lack of oxygen is the onset of euphoria (similar to the effects of whippits).

Combine that with the feeling of weightlessness that comes with submersion, and once the panic dissipates, drowning doesn't seem so bad.
1037  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 05:01:56
But the sheer number serves a function in and of itself, so even if only one succeeds, they all serve to increase probability.
1038  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Discussion Topic (for obscure/intellectual topics) on: 21 February 2008, 04:24:22
It's not lost, we know EXACTLY where it is.
1039  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My Birthday is Tomorrow(Thursday) on: 21 February 2008, 04:23:27
Only recently did I discover that I actually fear how I die, like say, alone in a car crash.

Fire tops my list.

Not doing something because everyone else is going to do it is just as bad as doing it BECAUSE everyone else is going to do it.
1043  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Top Video Game Characters on: 21 February 2008, 01:34:41
As fail as these topics usually are, I love you for putting Earthworm Jim on there.

It ALMOST excuses the fact that you didn't vote for MegaMan.
1044  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Waluigi sounds wanted on: 21 February 2008, 01:32:55
It sounds like I may be alone on this, but I think Waluigi is horribly lame.

I mean, I understand Wario. Mario needed an antagonist. His name was even clever.

But Waluigi? Never mind the fact that he's a doppleganger of a lesser character (making him even worse) but his name isn't remotely witty.

I understand that warui means evil (more or less), and that it's SUPPOSED to be a hybrid of that and the name, but that only really worked with Wario. He even gets extra points for the inverted first letter.

But Waluigi? Way to take a gimmick WAY too far.

Me: *clink clink*
Me: WAAAARIORS! COME OUT AND PLAAAAAAY-AY!
Rez: They can't.
Me: Why not?
Rez: They have a Capitol One card.

Rez = Comic Genius.

As for why it's so daunting, I don't know. Maybe I'm associating it with death or something.

It's good to get that ##### out of your system now.

I'm not saying you should live recklessly, but I am saying it's good to get the fear out of the way and make peace with the inevitable.

Super Smash moves = Broken
1048  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 20 February 2008, 19:44:53
Current: Kid Icarus (VC)

I'm a bit miffed that they took out the old NES codes. Not that I'd use them with any regularity, but there's a bit of nostalgia lost now that the old '8uuuuu uuuuuu uuuuuu uuuuuu' and 'ICARUS FIGHTS MEDUSA ANGELS' codes no longer work.

It would be like taking 'NARPAS SWORD0 000000 000000' or 'JUSTIN BAILEY ------ ------' out of Metroid.
1049  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My Birthday is Tomorrow(Thursday) on: 20 February 2008, 19:38:26
WS is right, the best tactic to avoid this would have been to not mention it at all. Most people here don't care to put in the effort to learn birthdays, let alone notice when they occur.

I also can't help but wonder why, at your age, a birthday is such an ominous thing?
1050  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show Yourselves! on: 20 February 2008, 05:53:45
Haha, I know who Jack Black is, but not John Candy.

That's #####ing tragic.
