Good job on Magma Man there.
I've never actually been able to beat the guy without his weakness (then again, I never lived long enough to get his pattern down like that).
1452  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: -ROBOT MASTER THREAD- on: 5 October 2008, 14:00:57
Umbrella Man is kinda cool there.
Kinda.

In the keep you more-or-less dry sense.
1453  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 4 October 2008, 21:21:59
When you could pick either-or, the game sort of devolved into a mix-and-match playground instead of a continuous narrative.
1454  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 4 October 2008, 17:27:07
What's this "we"?
1455  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 4 October 2008, 17:22:10
I dunno, Xero.
I'd rather see their moves inspired by Dan.
1456  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 3 October 2008, 22:45:48
I dunno, I've seen Nibbles eat entire troll armies and still have an irritable appetite for wanton destruction and human flesh.

Maybe it makes him relatively happy.
Compared to his normal.
1457  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 3 October 2008, 22:44:25
If this actually happened which sound system should be used?  X1, X2, or X3?

I liked the sound in X3... but the most memorable tunes were X1.
Consider that I've played X2 maybe twice in the past ten years.
1458  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Trip Down Memory Lane! on: 3 October 2008, 22:36:36
Stay frosty, Wind.

I didn't really play with toys much, now that I think about it. I had tons of stuffed animals, but no dolls or anything like legos. I was too busy exploring, swimming, getting lost and watching my brother play video games than playing. I guess my childhood was pretty dull.

I played outside when I got the chance, as well.
Nothing dull about running around outdoors with people.
1459  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Trip Down Memory Lane! on: 3 October 2008, 18:58:55
I forgot about that one.
It was OK from time to time, but for a "horror" show it never really lived up to it.

I remember more laughter at the outlandish plots and "hip kids".

Zeeb indeed.
1460  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 3 October 2008, 18:57:32
As fun as that was to watch, I'll never understand the bizarre impulse it must take to do speed runs.
1461  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Trip Down Memory Lane! on: 3 October 2008, 17:20:51
Kenan and Kel was an awesome show.
Much better than most of the live-action crap that Nickelodeon has produced.
Minor exceptions of Pete and Pete and Wild and Crazy Kids.

Funny how they all have "and" in them.

But me?
I used to watch the Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM cartoon a lot when I was little. That and Reboot were my Saturday morning for the longest time.

Favorite cartoon ever was the Centurions, shortly followed by David the Gnome (which I what I named the gnome in Half Life 2 Ep:2 throughout our epic campaign into space).
I used to have the original book that inspired the David the Gnome cartoon, and I just thought it was cool to see the thing come to life like that.

Oh, and you can't forget Gullah Gullah Island and Eureka's Castle. Sure, it was toddler fodder, but I'll be damned if it wasn't hypnotizing.

As far as toys, I had tons of Legos and most of the Star Wars Action Fleet models.
Not because I liked Star Wars that much (although it was cool), but because it was fun to run around outside firing plastic laser beams at the other children.

And then there were the video games.
When I was like 4-5, my father bought a ColecoVision and a PC. Some of my earliest gaming memories are playing Donkey Kong, Xaxxon, Math Blaster and Roger Wilco's Space Quest.

Good times.
Good times.
1462  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The End Of The World As We Know It on: 3 October 2008, 01:56:00
Some of those choices seem nice to me.
As fun as a Half Life-esque zombie holocaust would be, I have my own favorite inspired by a Discovery Chanel special:

Snowball Earth.

Basically, run-away greenhouse effect causes plant life to die. Earth gets warmer and warmer. Eventually seas boil. We're OK, we can live through that. Some of us.

Clouds form. Lots of water clouds. Nice white ones.
No sunlight to the surface.
Surface becomes increasingly colder, plant life thrives on increasing carbon dioxide levels.
Ice caps begin to grow. What little clouds there are left are replaced by nice, white ice.
Oxygen levels increase dramatically.
Little greenhouse effect causes runaway cooling.
Earth is covered by a healthy glaze of glaciers and icebergs, almost completely if not totally.

It's happened before, and it's pretty bleak... but it's a long, long shot by normal happenings.

I think it would be cool though.
1463  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: So, what the hell was wrong with me? on: 2 October 2008, 20:16:42
The correct answer to that, WS, is "no".

I'm with Edge here.

Huh, I thought something was missing since I came back.
Good to see you again, WS.
1466  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Image thread! (try to avoid memes) on: 2 October 2008, 13:11:40
That has to be fun and awesome to abuse.
1467  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Moving Out on: 2 October 2008, 13:09:02
Neither is partying and drinking, but then that's really only bad if it's exam time.

Glad to hear you're doing alright.
Oh, and make sure you line up a job while you're there, Q. Intern or co-op or something. That way you'll be able to stay in town or move elsewhere and get a job, and not wind up in my lovely situation.
1468  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: IM Topic~ on: 2 October 2008, 13:03:38
I have a sudden urge to watch the actual skit now...

Well finally they learn to keep the good system out of the bad one.

... hmm.
Portable Gunstar Heroes...

Solid art there.

Now I'm curious as to what rock your town is under.

Or, to not make a complete ass out of myself, just where you live.
1473  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 1 October 2008, 02:35:55
Yes, it's a crime that children should be swayed through such means and ruin the music with their love.
1474  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 1 October 2008, 02:15:21
I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.
And less of this meme.

Blue Oyster Cult is good stuff regardless, though. Something pops would listen to on car trips.

Because of ASR, I'm now listening to "Don't Let's Start" - They Might Be Giants.
1475  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Video share topic on: 1 October 2008, 02:12:48
Oh, wow, I never realized it before, but Plucky and Hampton there are dressed up as the Johns.
1476  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Axl on: 30 September 2008, 22:31:11
And he means beyond.
1477  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Video share topic on: 30 September 2008, 22:29:16
Inspired my to buy some TMBG albums, that did. Great cartoon.
1478  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Axl on: 30 September 2008, 22:19:59
... how is it possible for someone to have decent grammar but still make a paragraph look like a pile of letters?

Regardless, I agree with this guy on just about every point.
Except that I despise Axl as a character as well.
1479  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Image thread! (try to avoid memes) on: 30 September 2008, 13:10:48
Great way to rip your arm off, if nothing else.

You aren't good at it.
Don't do it again.
1481  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Majors on: 30 September 2008, 03:25:12
That's because we have all of the useless English majors with nothing better to do but attempt to inject words back into common usage.
1482  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 30 September 2008, 03:23:56
That bit with the Roll costume was priceless.
1483  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: WINDS Gallery.. of stuff on: 30 September 2008, 01:44:43
I LIKE IT!
1484  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Video share topic on: 30 September 2008, 01:40:53
That show...
... it's like Dali sobered up and barfed all over a canvas.
1485  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Majors on: 30 September 2008, 01:38:01
That said, I'm (kind of) in college. The same college as Vinch. I study animation.
In Canada college and university aren't the same thing, really. So you don't have a major to speak of in college because you're just part of a program. I hear that in the US they are basically the same.

The terms college and university are usually interchangeable in the US.
Although "Community College" tends to be lower-tier, they still have some undergraduate programs. Most people just go for the Associates Degrees most of them have.

I have one.

#####ing useless.

BOY FACED!

I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

I can't seem to find a job anywhere for some reason.
I'm not sure if it's because nobody advertises the lower positions I am apparently only suitable for or what.

And the only thing harder than finding a job is finding the goddamn companies to actually go #####ing apply. This is a goddamn military town, too, with plenty of industry besides.

1491  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Greed Topic - wut u want!? on: 29 September 2008, 19:02:02

... meh, I guess I was having too much trouble trying to figure out what the hell it was supposed to be to get it.
1492  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show Yourselves! on: 29 September 2008, 18:51:56

Isn't she cool too, John?

Ahahaha, I want this shirt!

... I don't get this.
Is that a weapon energy unit? Without the color?
1496  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Video share topic on: 29 September 2008, 18:46:20
May have something to do with the conspicuous appearance of the word "Snit".
1497  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 29 September 2008, 18:43:39
If there's a hard (or even Super Hard) mode in that game like there was in Wario Land 4, then that might prove to be more of a challenge.

I only learned about Super Hard WL4 a few weeks ago, and I still haven't beaten it.
Mind you I only play the game while on bathroom break.

... and now I want Shake It.
1498  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Avatars! on: 29 September 2008, 12:49:25
WATS A BOOBY!???!

A joke that would never make it past the censors in the US.

Assuming that a man with severe mental disorders dressing up in costumes with sinister lighting all the while speaking in hilariously fake voices for what I must assume is a children's TV show would make it past US censors.
1499  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show Yourselves! on: 29 September 2008, 12:46:45
I'm sorry.

On the other hand, you'd have to be a total idiot to ignore the surely painful creation of such a monstrosity.
