Looks like they have the Legends feel down with the controls, too.  That Bonne bot sure has a lot of health, though.
2  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The best computer ever. on: 26 April 2011, 01:08:38
Atom processors?

No thank you.
3  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 23 April 2011, 18:30:43
I'm still trying to figure out why you would install the processor and heatsink AFTER putting the mobo in the case, PSU and drives.

Maybe that case didn't have a tray for it or something, so that solves the case part, but that's still usually the first thing most people do, since it's easier to work on it without all of that other crap in the way.

Their blood.
From their own bodies.

Now wait just a second.
He said you can re-do it if you want.  With that sort of open attitude I think this guy deserves another chance.

Please, tell me about Cleveland and all of the wonders within it.
6  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What MMORPGs do you play? on: 22 April 2011, 22:24:45
I'd rather make a Red Lantern and go around yelling horrible things at people... and be totally justified for doing so.
7  MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: MegaMan Legends 3 on: 22 April 2011, 13:35:49
CAPCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOM
8  MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: MegaMan Legends 3 on: 21 April 2011, 19:14:53
If that's true then that makes it better.
As long as you don't have to play as this guy much in the main game.  Don't like his face; reminds me of Axl.
9  MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: MegaMan Legends 3 on: 21 April 2011, 17:30:14
I'm not playing this game.
10  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 21 April 2011, 14:39:59
WASD is superior to these ideas because of all the buttons on the keyboard in close proximity.

Even if you wanted fine-tuned movements without crouching, and I don't understand why anyone would unless the game required it, or had difficult balancing sections (like the original Half Life, which has a walk button).

I have never once in my life encountered a segment in a game where I wished I had a joystick instead of four directional keys.  The only reason why it works well on a console controller is because a joystick is incredibly insufficient for aiming, and you have to make up for the loss of fine-tuned mouse movements by slightly increasing your movement accuracy.  Even then it's still not as good as WASD + mouse.

At least to me.
11  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 21 April 2011, 02:29:52
Walking is not sneaking.
12  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: So... Homestuck. on: 20 April 2011, 23:55:36
Oh, it's not that bad.

Only takes a few days to a few weeks to get through it, depending on how much free time you have.
13  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 20 April 2011, 23:54:17
The classic Sonic portions look alright, but the modern stuff makes me cringe.

I've not liked any of the sonic games from Adventure and onwards though.
14  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 20 April 2011, 23:50:38
Year at least, for me.  Hell, maybe the best game I've played in several years.

Just finished the singleplayer twice... once to enjoy everything and the atmosphere/writing, and the second time to go back and get achievements (Pretty sure all of the single player ones are done for me... was nice to see some of the SPOILER stuff).

Game makes me wish even more for information on Half Life 3 or Episode 3 or whatever they want to call it now.  If they can make Portal 2 this stunningly awesome, I have no idea how they intend to top it... and HL3 must top it.

Optimally, I want a joystick with loads of buttons for my left hand and a mouse in my right. I Like keyboard and mouse, but finite movement with WASD is impossible compared to a controller.

You aren't doing it right then.
15  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What MMORPGs do you play? on: 18 April 2011, 03:00:31
I play RO on private servers and never talk to anyone.

'Cause I'm a damn creepy guy.

$1/hour is my standard.
18  MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: Legends 3 Megaman Volnutt Designs on: 12 April 2011, 17:40:54
Higher color contrasts?
I think it looks more muted, but eh.  It is the old Legends 2 design (#1), so that is cool, but I still think #2 looks better.
19  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Amnesia: The Dark Descent on: 12 April 2011, 15:08:14
True.  Even though Fallout: New Vegas was horribly programmed and really shouldn't be as fun as it is, I have nearly 200 hours clocked in on that thing.

Amnesia seems like the sort of linear story that you'll only break out and play when you want to hear it again.  You won't be as scared of all of the stuff that happens because you'll know what's going to happen and where you should be going... but that's still "as scared" and not "not scared at all".

Probably has a replay rate of 1.2 on my scale.
20  MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: Legends 3 Megaman Volnutt Designs on: 12 April 2011, 15:03:28
Definitely not 3!  He needs his crotch armor, man!

I'm really diggin' 2 for some reason.  Just looks better I guess.
21  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Amnesia: The Dark Descent on: 11 April 2011, 21:30:28
Physical copies also tend to have some form of DRM, and I am not a fan of that practice.
It's nice to have them sometimes, but only for utility programs; games are more expandable to me, so the digital format (especially Steam) is a far better choice in my eyes.

The only time I'll ever buy something in a box is to get the neat stuff in the box, or if it's a console game.  No neat stuff in the box means I may as well go digital.

A lot of games are also digital only now, and I'm honestly not sure there even ARE physical copies of Amnesia for sale... anywhere.
22  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Amnesia: The Dark Descent on: 11 April 2011, 19:32:32
You can't sell digital copies, and I don't buy physical anymore.
23  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Amnesia: The Dark Descent on: 11 April 2011, 17:48:23
I played the demo.  It's pretty tense and what I've seen of the story is fairly interesting (especially the way it's delivered), but the game itself doesn't really seem like it's worth money.

Sure.
29  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: 3DS on: 25 March 2011, 12:17:58
Lucky, lucky, Abe!  I got to try the demo of Pilot Wings Resort in the store.  Just the training around the Wii Sports Resort island (I know that island far too well), but the 3D was pretty kickass, and it works quite well with that game.  Tell me how SSF4 plays; I have a friend who's very interested in how well they mapped the controls.
30  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: So... Homestuck. on: 25 March 2011, 02:43:05
It's kind of ironic that Photoshop is so much better at MS Paint than MS Paint is.
I also urge you to stay well away from the wiki until you're caught up... they don't tag any sort of spoilers.

Act V is where things go a little crazy, and I'm pretty sure it introduces the trolls.  People either love them or love to hate them.  The fact that they're engineered that way just makes it all the more interesting.

So I guess to get this out of the way, and this is not a spoiler, but they're all based on astrological signs.  Kinda neat to pick yours out and note the similarities and differences (although in my case Karkat is pretty spot-on).
31  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: So... Homestuck. on: 25 March 2011, 01:17:50
I've read all of the MSPA stuff, and I'm keeping up with Homestuck these days.  So no, you're not the only one.

I dunno what anyone else thinks about the trolls, but I find that stuff fascinating.  A whole lore made out of stupid minutia.  Wonderful.  It's like two crazy stories for the price of one.
32  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 25 March 2011, 00:29:16
This should not be as fun as it is.
33  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 24 March 2011, 23:28:50
Yeah, I'm not switching to a barely functional browser just to do this.

No, all I need is this.

How does that work?

I know him.  I talk to him regularly.  I helped set up his new web comic.

But I've also been told not to give out his internet stuff without an OK... for some reason.
You can throw me an IM on AIM, and I'll try to talk to him as soon as he gets back on.

Name combination is actually a pretty neat idea.

Think of the permutations possible!
Like Joe Rock and Jane Fullner!

Rollner!  Or... oh wait I see a problem here.

20 hours isn't much!
43  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 13 March 2011, 13:12:05
Help, I can't stop playing New Vegas!  It's buggy as hell and I've beaten it twice, but I want more endings... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
44  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: You know what would piss alot of people off on: 13 March 2011, 13:10:29
No, no, he has a point.  If the very company that makes the games for profit lies about making something really good, when they really haven't, that's bound to improve consumer opinion of the company!

I mean with today's gamers being truly useless, stupid, frat-boy sacks of crap, nobody should notice or care!  It's not like anyone actually plays Mega Man games anymore, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah aha
45  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: You know what would piss alot of people off on: 10 March 2011, 04:41:57

Making a post like this was the second best way.
48  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 3 March 2011, 19:16:22
Some people are immune to the ill effects.
I am.  I can do crosseyed/divergent eyed 3D all day long... but that doesn't mean I want to hold my head in one position all day just to play a game.

And yes, while the slider does change the intensity of the effect it really depends on where your head is and how close the screen is to your eyes... from what I've heard.
49  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 3 March 2011, 16:01:21
What I've heard just recently about the 3D for the 3DS is that the sweet spot for getting the effect is very small, and different for everyone.  If you change the position of your head it seems like you have to move the slider to compensate for it.

To me that's bad... but then I take a look at the screenshots for the Ocarina of Time remake and they're amazing.  Nothing is pre-rendered textures, it's all fairly high poly count objects.  My usual opinion about OoT is that it was great once, but I never wanted to play it again... but I want to play this remake.

On one hand the stereoscopic 3D is crap... on the other hand the 3D rendering is awesome for a handheld.

I think it may be worth the price after a drop or two, and I'll just turn off the 3D most of the time.
