Title: my journey through the Best in the battle network series
Post by: LCrazy11 on 30 June 2019, 18:10:49
so i don't know which is the best but from what i hear it is one of these two, so you pick

i made them separate because "worst in the series" doesn't work with 2 or 3

Play the first one I guess and judge that one.

i've already played 1, good game, needed some improvements and from what i hear these games will have the additions a want, like the style change, i don't know much about it but it sounds cool

2 is better than 3.  3 has some nice quality of life features, but 2 has much better Program Advances, and the best undernet.

I'm the most qualified person here regardless of who votes.

ah the old sprites, a thing that i have to say, look good but i prefer the smaller, more colourful new sprites

Wait?  Is this the same Ubisoft that did Rayman?

well this is annoying, gas blasts that send you back to the start of a small bit, i'm not good with timing so this place will take a while unless i get a walk through walls code

The new #####ty smaller less detailed sprites were one of the worst parts of 4-6 though.

BN2 is the best one in every way. I'm the other person who voted so I'm also qualified af to say that. I did my dissertation on The Evolution of Bio-Circuity In An Emerging Wired World.

I would say it's the pinnacle of that universe. It's story expands the world building of the first game and sets a foundation around those concepts that I personally don't think ever fully reached it's potential (mainly because BN4 and onward shifted the focus).

BN3 is quite good though.

Wait?  Is this the same Ubisoft that did Rayman?

Yes. In the early 2000's they were "Ubi Soft" and were known for making sleeper hits like Beyond Good & Evil. I remember Victor Lucas talking about them being come ups on Reviews On The Run.

i do have to agree, so far the story has me hooked (something that BN4-5-6 took a while to do if they ever did it) like Gospel just killed a guy, and the name Gospel is so good for an evil organisation in this game

just beat quick man and his operator who wanted to save the environment by blowing up a dam even though that would destroy the ecosystem that has evolved from the dam being there

I know this was 2 months ago, but Ubisoft apparently published BN2 in Europe.

Unfortunate that your save was corrupted, BN2 is definitely the best BN game overall. While 3 had some neat things there were a lot of downgrades too. Then BN4 just downgraded everything.

I think 2 was the sweet spot as well.  4, 5 and 6 can get #####ed.
