Are you kidding? The kids' acting in the first two Potter movies were terrible. It only solidified in the third movie. Anyway.
The reason is that you can't possibly please everyone's mental image of a story. A minor example is fanart. Everyone but everyone drew Severus Snape with a goatee pre-movie. Post-movie, all the fanart suddenly had clean-shaven Alan Rickman in them.
Another reason is that with time constraints, you just can't put in all the details, or at least enough that the book purists won't start hopping and pointing at Their Favorite Scene That Didn't Appear, or Didn't Appear Right. I really really liked Tom Bombadil in the books, but he didn't really do enough that made him necessary in the movie.
Probably it would be easier with short books, like (as you say) the first two Potter books, but really involved ones like His Dark Materials would be harder. You'll notice the Potter books that have a billion pages translate into movies that aren't stories that stand alone, but sort of bundles of barely-connected Highlights of the Book scenes. Though they did make a good effort of that in the fifth movie.

Baaadass.
Personally, I think the Indo picture turned out excellently, the only thing is that her eyes don't quite face the same direction. One of them is looking subtly towards the left.

Yesterday, my computer committed harakiri.
Managed to save everything and dump it on a new hard drive, so that was good.
Then I got a horrible migraine, but warriors do not crawl and whimper when faced with stabbing headpains! Warriors reinstall every damn driver and program that needs reinstalling, even when warriors can't find where they saved the bloody activation codes! GARR!

Granted. You are galvanized into action, cleaning and cleaning and cleaning until your hands are raw and bleeding.
I wish for an iPod Shuffle. No silly videos or more gigabytes than god, just a basic mp3 player.

Eh, it's usually best to go in seeing a movie as a movie, and not as a visual mirror of your experience of the book. You'll be disappointed far too much with the latter.

That's interesting, because while I don't particularly call you a friend, I don't actively dislike/hate you either. Thinking your storytelling skills leave something to be desired doesn't mean I can't play nice.
Then again, I'm sure if I had a reason not to like you, I'll remember it eventually.
But who's washing their dirty laundry in public, eh?

I have a guilty enjoyment in Magic Knight Rayearth, even though it's a magic girl anime, that ends (sort of) in a giant mecha fight, and with retarded romances all over the place.
It's probably all Mokona's fault. Bastard puffball thing. Or how Umi seems to headbutt everything in the SNES game.
Also, Revolutionary Girl Utena, despite (or because of) it being the most confusing, symbol-packed mindbugger thing ever.

Awesome. I'm planning on watching it next Wednesday. Weekday, fewer people, ftw.
I tried to make my mother read the book a while back, but she didn't want to -- now with the movie she's asking to borrow it. Which is harder than it sounds, since all my books are still in moving boxes I haven't unpacked yet, and most are labelled things like "V's Room: Misc Book #5", which isn't helpful.

When you take in mind that most of the girls who participated were actually guys 99.9% time, you can see why random cybering is a bad idea.
Also, family friendly board, etc.
I agree.
I start to take off your pants.
Your family walks in... and they start to take off theirs.
EDIT: Family friendly.

Don't kill photoshop, please. Thirteen year olds on DeviantART have been abusing it for years. It's suffered under their hands enough.
If I see another lens flare or plastic effect, I'm going to go on a rampage.

Facebook has a nice design, so long as you learn to collapse all of the stupid attachments people put on their profile that make it fifty times longer to load.

I realize that 8-bit games tend to use bright colours, but seriously, all allergy jokes aside, don't use the neon reds and blues and so on that make up the default MSPaint pallet. It never looks good.

I wouldn't be as enthusiastic about suing the school, since money will get used on legal fees instead of things like lighting and upkeep on the furnace and so on.
Then again, I come from a high school that was falling apart at the seams, with vents that spat cold air in winter and brimstone smoke in the summer, and it squandered its funds on the sports teams while the computer classes were stuck with Photoshop 5 (and Limited Edition at that) and the lamps in photography were repaired with duct tape, so that's just me.

I watched an episode the other day, and I have to say the detail in the art is impressive, especially the work on the backgrounds. As for the story itself, I can't say since I only did see that one ep, but it's interesting.
