Death rings help. Huge stat boost, and one hit kills you.

Makes it hard to not know when you've been hit.

Took me forever to kill that damn crab without getting hit though. Then I figured out that in the first phase after he punches the ceiling twice, you run up in front of him then get back down to the lower left platform, and he'll punch toward the center, rather than hook to the left.

Also, ##### that big centaur guy.

Every time Elle is on the show, this is all I see.

Be patient, it picks up after about a minute.

Someone I know expressed concern today that, because Obama was elected, terrorists were going to attack the local mall...

... In Wisconsin...

...In a town of just over 60,000 people...

It's like #####ing 9/11 all over again.

OMG A TERRIST IS GONNA FLY A PLANE INTO MY HOUSE!!!

I love his house.

I know, that's why it's funny.

It makes me feel old though.
Like, having grown up beside it, we sort of became acclimated to it as it evolved into the beast it is now. So we never really experienced that first initial "OMFG TEH INTERNEST!!"
459  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 6 November 2008, 18:49:21
However, the average newbie is too excited to notice

This made me laugh.

OH MAI GOD I'M TYPIGN ON TEH INTRANETZ!

High School never ends.

I would have preferred if Ron Paul had won, but since he wasn't an option, I don't think things are as bad as they could have been.

I'm really tired of people yelling that the sky is going to fall though. Seriously, he's only got four years. Unless he starts launching nukes at everyone, I'm fairly certain that the world isn't about to end.
461  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Which Senator do you want to win? on: 5 November 2008, 06:54:36
There honestly isn't that much difference between Obama and McCain when it comes down to it.

Everybody needs to relax a bit.
462  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Which Senator do you want to win? on: 5 November 2008, 06:04:52
Obama had it as soon as he had Pennsylvania.

I feel the same way about the intro to Secret of Mana.

Goosebumps.

Every time.

It takes a lot of work to get the hang of.

Don't skip the tutorial.
469  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What is you favorite Guitar Hero Game and whats your favorite song on it? on: 4 November 2008, 09:23:56
I think he means there's more one-player content in World Tour... due to its arduous unlocking process.
470  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What is you favorite Guitar Hero Game and whats your favorite song on it? on: 4 November 2008, 06:43:12
Rock Band 2 > Guitar Hero: World Tour.

It's not hard to tell that the brains behind the original Guitar Hero titles are now making Rock Band. The game is just generally tighter, hosts a better track list, and syncs your button pressing with the music much, much better.

Neversoft only knows how to make Tony Hawk games.

Oh wait... those aren't very good/fresh anymore either.
471  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 3 November 2008, 00:56:46
Dracula's castle is really fun.

Dracula's castle is Castlevania.

It was a good game, but I could really have given two #####s about the story. I doubt I'm alone in saying it isn't why I play those games; So, that being said, I would have liked to see less story and more game. This is only exacerbated by the fact that the story seems like it's only there to serve as a transition between areas that shouldn't have been sectioned off in the first place.
PoR did that, and I didn't care for it then either.

It was shorter than I would have liked, and the alternate modes seemed a little stripped down when compared to the last few outings, but all-in-all it was a satisfying title.
472  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 2 November 2008, 04:35:05
That guy can be seriously repramanded for not selling your friend a game. We're supposed to accept any government issued ID, including (but not limited to) ID Cards, Drivers Licenses, Military ID's, and birth certificates (which happens more often than you might think).

If he was my employee, he would at least be written up.
473  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: So, what does your computer run on? on: 30 October 2008, 17:19:08
The souls of orphan children.
474  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 30 October 2008, 07:05:34
I find it humorous how the game is grey and bland, exactly what you would expect after a nuclear holocaust, and yet the dirty reality of it all seems trite, since it's the same visual color palette that most games of this generation have been using.

Not that Fallout wasn't grandfathered into the look, I just find it funny how it seems to have less impact than it probably should.
475  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 29 October 2008, 22:58:53
From what I've played so far of Fallout 3, I like it. If you're a fan of the last two Elder Scrolls games, then this should be right up your alley.

Yes, you can go almost anywhere you want within the first 45 minutes of the game. The enemies are scaled to you, but there's a good bit of range to that scale, so there are certain areas that if you wander into, be prepared to get decimated. It's almost suffocating in it's size.
476  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 26 October 2008, 09:02:52
*raises toast* Here's to the return of running and jumping to the right.

I haz Fallout 3.

I'm amazed.

Get to voting folks!

People are still making BoF H?

I figured everyone would have forgotten about the series at this point.

And Rez, You know I love you even without your wonderful H collection.
482  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: If you could have any material thing... on: 23 October 2008, 15:43:00
STFU Rez. I thought you were one of those "less than three".

Apparently that needs to be changed to "less than two"
483  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 23 October 2008, 15:41:26
I weep for the Breath of Fire franchise.

Also, BoF 1 was decent, but the story line wasn't quite as epic as 2 or 3.
484  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: If you could have any material thing... on: 23 October 2008, 15:22:37
Yup.

Too bad TV is pretty bland this season. But I'm sure it rocks the hardest of core for gaming and movies.

Yes. It all works out well, as I don't watch any of the programing these days. If anything I'll download episodes of whatever I'm interested in, and upload them to the wireless networked external hard drive upstairs.

It was purchased almost entirely for gaming, though I do plan to replace the former glory that was my DVD collection with Blu-Rays.

Heh, I forgot Delta existed. What's he up to anyway?

Also, its funny how most of the members there preferred not to give their real names.

I actually haven't spoken to Delta in awhile. A few years ago I stopped using chat programs almost completely. My posts here are about as social as I get with people I don't know personally.

Also, I still prefer not to give my real name. Even after all this time, I think there's less than three people here who would know it.

What is this new kind of television?

It's a 40" Sony Bravia. Fantastic television for the price. For just under $1,200 you get a 40" 1080p LCD screen with 3 HDMI inputs, a 2500:1 contrast ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. I have yet to see the slightest hint of ghosting.

There aren't really a whole lot of games out there that are native 1080p, but the ones that are are beautiful.
487  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: If you could have any material thing... on: 23 October 2008, 02:36:52
I'd like a decent television. I have a fantastic stereo, a PS3, a Wii, and a #####ty hand-me-down tube television that's on the verge of death.

Amended. After two and a half years of harassing my wife about it, she finally caved.

I got my new TV yesterday.
488  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 22 October 2008, 21:50:13
Agreed.

It's just too bad people are selfish.
489  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 22 October 2008, 19:20:33
It's too bad that the America he stands for is so far removed from the America that really is.
490  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Random MMM Comics! on: 22 October 2008, 16:42:44
I see.

Clearly I haven't been paying attention.
491  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Random MMM Comics! on: 22 October 2008, 04:52:55
The best way to let things remain as they are is not to vote.

Not that I believe either candidate to be ideal, one is clearly more acceptable than the other.

Elections always end up coming down to "Who sucks less?".
492  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 22 October 2008, 00:48:50
What can I say? They're like crack.

You know they're bad for you, but you just can't help yourself.
493  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on: 22 October 2008, 00:46:16
That was truly groan-worthy.
494  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Jake's Poetry Corner on: 22 October 2008, 00:39:19
As it should be.
495  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 22 October 2008, 00:38:05
Please.

You watched the preview.

I'll bet money you could guess exactly what's going to happen.
496  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on: 22 October 2008, 00:35:12
Contra says otherwise.
497  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on: 21 October 2008, 15:48:48
His opinion of the game was pretty much the opposite of Edge's.

Well, there are indeed differences, like the glyph system isn't at all like the soul system from Dawn of Sorrow. There are also a notable lack of weapons.

In the end though, it's the same formula.

Explore what portion of the castle you can, find power ups, explore the areas that power up opened up to you, repeat.

It should be noted that this one is SIGNIFICANTLY harder than previous DS Castlevania titles.
498  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Jake's Poetry Corner on: 21 October 2008, 05:00:04
... It's not a freestyle if you're not making it up on the fly.
499  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on: 21 October 2008, 04:36:03
Getting games early and checking inventory out of the store are the only things that make up for Gamestops piss poor pay rate.

I love that you rhyme the word "tardation"

Though shame on you for spittin' writtens.
