Title: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 3 December 2007, 05:34:52
MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! is an RPG made on RPG Maker XP using a few custom scripts and sprites that look nothing like the RTP (which most RPG Maker XP games look like). The game will involve eight members of the community as they strive to save the Internet World from the chaos and destruction of the anti-virus corporation: VIRUS (Virii Institute of Research and UnderStanding).

There is a current release date which I hope to release the game by... but by any indication, it'll probably be pushed... none-of-the-less, the release date will (hopefully) be June 15h, 2008.

Story
It's June 15th, 2008. It's a normal day on MegaMan Matrix... kind of. Today, a great WiFi DS Tournament is being hosted by none other than Abominator to be taken place in Club Mega. Sixteen contestants will enter, only one will come out victorious. Unfortunately, that contestant will have a short victory... for viruses will attack the 'Matrix! These viruses seem to be controlled by three strange users named Sandman, DarkPhoenix1337 and Oblivious. The three of them came looking for something... but what?

Characters
Vinchenz - Psionic Persons: The magically skilled user of the team, Vinchenz can use a wide variety of elemental abilities and has a few healing abilities as well.
Digital Element: Earth, Self Element: Psy

Snare - Natural Naturalist: Average in stats but strong in skills, Snare can use all of nature's finest to damage his foes.
Digital Element: Earth, Self Element: Nature

Mikero - Nostalgic Ninja: The fastest user alive, Mikero can quickly attack the enemy while also using some useful stat boosting abilities for the team.
Digital Element: Wind, Self Element: Ninja

NovaMan - Burning Brigade: Although he may seem useless at first, NovaMan's usefulness comes once he starts learning the abilities of his enemies.
Digital Element: Fire, Self Element: Flare

Opal - Seductive Summoner: This cute summoner has great attack for a magic user. Although she's a little slow, Opal can summon a few Matricians and some strange programs to aid the battle.
Digital Element: Water, Self Element: Icicle

Majikn - Sniper Supreme: Has great accuracy and great evade as well. Although a little lame with his sniper alone, Majikn has many great status effecting abilities as well.
Digital Element: Wind, Self Element: Sniping

Lunchebox - Strangling Specialist: The strongest user in the game, Lunchebox has very few skills but with enough power to lift a mountain I'm sure he'll be fine without them.
Digital Element: Fire, Self Element: Strangle

Cherry - Charismatic Cleric: Although weak and has low health, as the best healer in the game Cherry is very useful and vital to the team.
Digital Element: Water, Self Element: Healing

Features
-Pokemon overworld sprites! Come on, who can hate these?
-Characters are MegaMan edits, viruses are from a wide variety of RPGs
-Almost all of the music is from MegaMan games
-Using the classic Conditional Timer Battle Systems of ye olde RPGs (Such as Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy for the NES)
-A text battled system similar to EarthBound
-Fourteen different battle songs randomly chosen before each battle! Three different boss songs as well
-Massive Caterpillar system where ALL eight of the characters are with you all the time
-Two overworlds: The Stream and one spoilerish to the plot to mention
-Around twenty hours of a normal playthrough and thirty hours with sidequests
-Over 100 skills (enemies and characters), 50 normal items, 50 weapons, 80 armors (auras and extras), and 100 battle animations
-...Pokemon overworld sprites!

Needed DLL file (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?rgss102e)
DOWNLOAD THE DLL FILE TO PLAY THE GAME!

Tips:
-Use the floating "H" for health when you need it
-Level up to level 7 on the home page before continueing on
-Stock up on items; you start off with 1000 Dollars
-BeastMan Recolour drops Iron Fist at 5%, a weapon for Vinchenz
-Un-"X"able Pop-Up drops Bootlegged Shield at 1%, better armour for both
-Be at least level 12 before exiting GFAQs with Snare

What's needed:
-More sprites for more Matricians on MMM
I want as many Matricians possible in the RPG. I want you all to be included.
-Sprites for the villains
-Better battle sprites for Vinchenz and Dizzy
-Better Title screen
-Decolourizations for everyone except NovaMan
-Custom battle sprites for some monsters (especially the final boss)

Statistics
Here are the current stats on how far the game is going:

Animation Graphics: 100%
Character Graphics: 85%
Tileset Graphics: 45%
Other Graphics: 90%
Music: 80%
Data Base: 50%
Scripting: 99.50%

Please note, this does not include maps, in-game development or game completion. This is merely side stuff for preparations for that stuff.

And that's that. I hope you enjoyed this. I just want everyone to know that I'll NEVER quit making this game. This game has already taken up a lot of my life and I want this to be released to the masses, epic or not. As long as it gets out and at least one person truly likes it, I'll be fine. Till then, I'll be using this topic for new updates that I think are worth mentioning. You all can also discuss things with me in this topic, discuss things about the game, or just do whatever, as long as it has something to do with the game.

For those who want something specific, such as a request or want to make me sprites or something, please send me a private message.

That'll be all. Enjoy.

Did you ever decide to put me in it? I know there was talk of an Orange Devil boss or an Orange Devil humanoid character.

There were talks between people who weren't even in the game. And I want you in there as a normal Matrician. When I make my new write up, I'll include this (Along with wanted sprites for all of the Matricians here).

So does it look better and ORIGINAL compared to what you had uploaded on Youtube?

Nope and if you don't like it, too bad.

Post by: SB on 3 December 2007, 06:11:59
Not harsh when it's just Pokemon Overworld sprites mixed with a side battle deal using fan altered MM bases, when I figure Hunter could whip up something better for it.

Besides, that video on Youtube was a bit old by this point in time, so I figured there was some developements since now and then as well as a bit of polish added to it, so no harm in asking, y'know?

I'm going to guess he's using something like RPG Maker 2000.
Is there a link to this YouTube vid?

RPG Maker XP... it's going to have some custom features not seen in normal RPGMaker games.

I'd give you the YouTube link, but my school doesn't like YouTube (website is blocked). I'll give you a link later today.

Right, right. YouTube should be blocked in schools.
It helps tide the stupid.

Come on, don't be n00bs. There are such easy ways around school blocks.
You know, Megaman Matrix was banned at my school last year. Probably my fault.

Ok, well, I'm home. I'll begin writing up a new write up for the game. The post will also contain all of the videos I made for the game too so... stay tuned!

I am thoroughly impressed.

Cheers and Godspeed.

Write up is done... and saved this time. I actually think this is better than last time.

Please note, the first video is a little old... second video is showing off the new, no-need-for-battle-background script, third is about the caterpillar script and the last... is up to imagination.

Man, this has gone far since I first revealed I'll be making this game... was it one or two years now? X_X

...
I hope some people will read the write up. XD

What's the decolourization thing about?

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 3 December 2007, 22:17:51
Ah yeah, I remembered... NovaMan, when you read this, can you send me the names and descriptions of the of the skills you learn through PMs? You only learn like, five of them and they're all fire types... I didn't really remember them and I didn't think that MMM would suddenly go down so I didn't care at the moment.

Added this to the "What's needed" list.

Glad to see this is still going. You know, I'm all about water powers, but I can deal with wind.

I know, you complained about the Wind thing the last time. XD
If there ever is a sequel, you'll have water in that game for sure.

Also, the decolourization thing is where Abe suggested that the characters are too colourful looking compared to the background. MoX offered to decolourize them to suit the game but he only did NovaMan.

And if nobody's realized it yet the "What's needed" thing is there for Matricians to help along the game as well. If anyone wants to do any of what's under "What's needed" then PM me.

I've completed the OD sprite sheet, of course the colors are a bit off, the program I use doesn't have an amazing selection of color.

The eight I mentioned in the write up are the only playable ones. The rest will be NPCs in MMM and I want a lot of them.

Looks pretty good, though that orange is kind of eye watering... I'll make re-colour it later if you want.

But whatever, it's better than I expected.

Story seems a bit weak and very unrelated.

Thanks for the comments. The story may not make sense at all until end game. EVERYTHING is revealed end game (just like every great villain revealing everything right before they fight you).

Ok, fixed and I have to say... it looks like when Chon walks.

But I also checked out a few other characters, and they all have the same "problem" (this includes the ripped off pokemon characters used as NPCs, and that's Nintendo's doing) so let's just leave it as it is.

Yuh, uhh.. I fixed up a little problem with my sprite. REE-POAST.

Also, if anybody wonders why the walking motion doesn't look like the pokeman ones, it's because the steping sprite is lowered. I say this because I just figured it out : \

Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 7 December 2007, 21:31:25
...What's the difference? I really don't want to insert it again. >_>

If it's because it's a pixel bigger than it should be, I fixed that problem myself without editing your sprite.

Posted on:  7 December 2007, 16:01:28

Mmm, small update...

I spent three hours on the text script JUST so it can say "1 point of damage" or "9999 points of damage." I REALLY didn't want it to be "300 point(s) of damage" because that would REALLY bother me. So yep, expect good grammar there.

I did the same for when you get healed, when you lose energy and when your energy gets healed. However, no battle text will pop up if the damage is 0... That's where that last hour came in. I finally gave up because I just couldn't figure it out. But anyway, I'm really happy to get the "point" and "points" thing figured out.

Alright, so I tried to sprite it, but it's excruciating to try to sprite with an injured thumb, so I request help. I got the first row done, but would like help with the last three, though the second is mostly finished.

Here's it so far. Help with her skirt would also be appreciated. ._.

Great! That makes it quadruply indirect.
Now we just need to make the original sprite Yubi used as reference out of yours, and we have infinite recursive sprite creation and the universe will end.

Bit of an update, I just finished another tileset, one of that world that I'm not going to talk about until someone plays the game and gets there.

Only problem is, It's not from Pokemon Ruby/Saphire/Etc. In fact, it's a lot more detailed than those sprites, making the Sprite decolourization stupid to do, so scrap that. Why did I chose to do this? Because Pokemon sprites don't have what I want for this world... and this world is supposed to be the longest, most gruesome part of the game. I need it to be perfect or everyone will be like, "Ugh, that sucked. I'm tired of this game now." I want at least one person to beat this game. :(

Anyway, I have a good excuse (used in game) on why it looks different.

Anyway, I counted, and I'm done half of the tilesets... there's going to be eight in total (MMM gets two XD). I guess Tilesets bump up to 50%, but they still may be glitchy so I have to work out the bugs when I get the chance.

I also counted the animations I need to do... there's 128 in total, and I barely got 30 of them done... Animations is the part I dread the most. ._.

However, once I get animations out of the way, I'm sure the game will start to pick up.

Erm, yeah, if no one minds, I'm going to be using this topic as a blog. Make sure to see the original post to see for updates!

Update: I've decided to release a new MMMRPG demo... for Christmas. It'll be my Christmas present to all Matricians here. :)

I'll make it so you don't have to download many extras to play it either. I won't list the features now, but I'll tell you right now that Vinchenz (That's me!) will be the only playable character. Why just Vinchenz? Because he's the main character of that chapter. >_>

This demo will take place after the chapter presented in the last demo (Though there's more to that chapter than shown in the last demo). I know I promised that I'd only release one demo, but this project is taking much longer than I anticipated so I'm going ahead and releasing this next one. I hope everyone will enjoy it, but not until Christmas. :)

Also, unlike the last demo, this demo has many of the features in the finished version.

Nope. It won't make much sense until the whole thing is finished anyway,

Oops, didn't see the second part of the demo. Yes, it's best to un-zip it. Also, forgot to mention, but instal the two fonts the demo comes with.

Yea, no problem. It's a nice demo, by the way! I've played through it all the way, and it looks good / plays good.

I was wondering though. Would it be possible to change the number of random encounters per room? Seems to me there are a little too much of them when you are in the first room.

I give you mad props for actually GOING somewhere with this project. I've witnessed a few attempts and I'm sure there were even more than what I've seen, so here's that long overdue congratulations and all that good stuff.

I'll download the demo as soon as I have more than 800MB free on my hard drive. I dunno what just happened. Apparently it is a pretty big problem to have that little space left.

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)

The RAR is 10 MBs, the game is 15ish...

You need more space, desperately. o_O

I just installed Direct X 9.0 or something, no dice.

Hmm, I'll look more into the matter. Just a quick question, though, what Windows OS are you using.

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: ASR on 11 January 2008, 02:07:16
Yeah, I know the demo obviously is small, but the point is that NO downloads are currently cooperating with my computer or else XP shoots me a barrage of messages about how my hard drive space is fatally low and how nice it would be if I would be so kind as to clear some of it off.

And I'd rather not deal with that right now.

I've left the AIM Update notification on the bottom right corner of my screen for over a year now even though it would take perhaps 5 minutes to perform the update - I'm not about to spend an hour or so rummaging through old files and clearing them out.

I bet you're really perfering your Mac right now, eh?

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Mikero on 11 January 2008, 04:35:26
Yes.

The thing is we sent this PC in to get all the viruses taken off, and they had to give us a new motherboard. So I'm certain this sound card is built into the motherboard (so I can't just take it out and then put it back in to make the computer recognize it) so it's THEM what #####ed it up.

Yeah, I understand. My dad knows this guy and whenever he fixes our computer, the hardrive crashes and I lose all my files (luckily, MMMRPG was saved on the internet just in case this happened).

And it happens all the time too... I now know why his deals are so good, they'll kill our computer in the end. Don't understand why my dad still goes to him. Though, the last time he fixed it, the computer IS running better than ever...

Playing the demo. Current comments:

- Very nice choice of music. I like.

- There's a slightly too long delay between the attack flash and the actual attack. It's a little annoying.

- Is there a window to check what the usable keys are? So far I only know Enter, Insert, and the arrow keys apply. Be neat if they could be customizable somehow (my mind defaults to "A key = Home, B key = End").

- I think there's a typo. "Severely lagging," not "severally lagging." Also, on the social board, Rock says "yesturday" instead of "yesterday."

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 3 February 2008, 21:06:04
Yay! Comments!

The delay between the attack flash and attack is intentional... you're the first to mention that it's annoying. >_>
I can lower it to 10 frames instead of 20 if you find it that bad.

I always just used, "Z" for Action/OK, "X" for Cancel, and "Esc" for the menu. That's all you really need. <_<

Thanks for pointing out the spelling errors. I checked through the script numerous times to find these errors but there will always be a few that I'll miss.

The entire GameFAQs scenario will be rewritten anyway.

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Slugkid on 3 February 2008, 21:47:57
I also always use the Z and X, but reverse. X for Ok and such and Z for cancel. I prefer enter for menu, though.

I locked the Eight Elites thread so that I can put all of my time on this game. From now on I'm going to try REALLY hard to scrap any free time I have on MMMRPG.

I would REALLY appreciate some help.

I'm STILL trying to work out all of the animations, and there needs to be sprites done. PLEASE, I NEED help. This will go by far too slowly if I just do this myself.

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Chron on 19 February 2008, 04:03:31
Played the demo released (posting and reading four topics on GameFAQs).

It's very unbalanced.

The first battle I fought, I almost died. Within a couple of battles, I was doing fine, because I leveled up three times. Posting the messages was a bit of a chore since the battle timer was set far too fast.

The LUE enemies being tougher is a nice touch, but it spells death trap for wandering players at the beginning.

It's also why I managed to rack up enough EXP to be level 17 before Snare showed up, who barely got to 15 before we fought the ridiculously easy GameFAQs admin.
I'm sure he has skills, but Snare managed to block his skills, and the battle was over in a good four turns thanks to Geokinesis.

The music is nice, though, and the design reminds me a lot of Pokemon.

Summary:

Major concerns: Gameplay balance, battle timer length.
Minor concerns: Fix the leveling curve for the characters, or the EXP the enemies give.

I made the demo easy on purpose. I tend to make the game to be really tough, Shin Megami Tensei tough.

Also, I'm thinking getting rid of Dizzy. He hasn't posted since he asked to be in the game and he hasn't even registered here.

I'm also thinking about including secret characters. So... three new character positions are possibly open. I'd REALLY like a girl to replace Dizzy. That way we have six guys and two girls. Don't care who become secret characters, but I'm thinking Ares to be one of them.

Word to the wise: hard RPGs are not fun.
Challenging ones are. To do that you need balance.
Balance, and clever enemy tactics.

Title: Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic)
Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 19 February 2008, 20:38:27
That's why I chose the word "tough" instead of hard.

The enemies themselves will have normal stats that if you level up along the way they'll be easy. It's just that they'll have slightly higher HP than in most games, gives less experience and will have unique tactics. Sort of like MOTHER3 but harder (because MOTHER3 is EASY).

So, Opal, I need to ask you three questions:

What weapon type do you want? (Mine is fisticuffs, Snare has vines, Lunchebox has knives).

and

What kind of special power do you want? (Mine = psionics, Snare is nature, Lunchebox has brute force and Cherry has healing).

last

What kind of character do you want to be? I'm a black mage like character, Cherry is white mage, Mikero is a Ninja... you get the idea, right?

Alright, got rid of everything referencing to Dizzy (maybe, if I come across more if I didn't).

Also, two new pictures (also shown on first page).

The first is ALL current Matricians. I'd really like the moderators and Abe in, John, Edge, Slugkid, yuri (for comedy purposes), and Sano.

Also, WHAT'S WITH THE SECOND PICTURE!? You'll find out later (though this isn't actually an area in the game).

Also, the PokeMon sprites don't look too bad on realistic-ish tilesets.

Sano: As an NPC, yeah. I still need sprites though.

Actually, and I can't believe I'm explaining this, it was a well-timed jab at the fact that since your spriting fails, only you could properly do justice to a sprite rendition of Sano, since it would ultimately fail in the end and thereby be a perfect example of what Sano is.

Yeah, that's really rude, and I don't want to make a sprite, because it would be bad, and because it would be bad the quality of Vinni's game would suffer.

Mikero: Believe me, I wouldn't prank something like this. Its beyond very gay and I was really hoping to finally release a MMM game...

I guess this topic comes to a close. I'll keep it open for tonight but there's no use for this topic any longer.

Can't you take the latest demo you released and edit it from that? Or was the latest progress a hell of alot more advanced than it?

In terms of mapping and event making, I didn't do too much... A couple hours of work at most... but I've made soo many animations, finished the armours, did half of the weapons and skills, added and replaced Dizzy with Opal, added in Chaos and Ares, rebalenced the stats, and finished the entire Virtual World tileset...

If I used that demo, I just wouldn't have any more motavation to redo all that... And that is a ton of work, especially all of those animations...

Anyway...

*Cracks fingers*

Here we go...

Also, at the beginning of every chapter, we see a little excerpt from the villain, Vyle Von Viirusu's past.
Chapter 1: Attack at the Matrix
VVV Excerpt: Korosuto Viirusu talks to his grandson, Yorodoku Viirusu, about future dreams and how Yorodoku will one day change the world. Korosuto then kills himself in front of his grandson.
Chapter Story: Vinchenz and Snare get ready to go to Club Mega for the WiFi Tournament. There, they meet Mikero, Nova, and a few other Matricians. After the tournament, Vinchenz, Snare, Mikero, and Nova go out and save other Matricians from a sudden attack.
Opal enters MMM after a couple days of downtime and saves Majikn from being deleted. The two of them take out any other viruses attacking and then head to Club Mega.
Lunchebox chases after a user who has kidnapped Cherry. After running through the MMM Cache, Lunchebox beats the user named DarkPhoenix1337 up, saves Cherry, and heads for Club Mega.
The eight Matricians then decide to stop the attack by beating down the two other users involved with the attack. They head for the Abominator Tower, where Vinchenz, Nova, Snare, and Opal distract (and defeat) Oblivious while the other four enter the tower.
Mikero, Snare, Lunchebox, and Cherry get to the 10th floor of the tower were they defeat Sandman from proceding any further. The eight Matricians then ponder the reason for the attack.

Chapter 2: The Users at GameFAQs
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku's father is talking to the Lawyer who put together Korosuto's Will together in North America. At first, Mr. Viirusu objects to the idea of his son owning such a large company, but the Lawyer convinces him to give the company when the boy gets older.
Chapter Story: Vinchenz is very bother by the attack and decides to go to GameFAQs to see if anyone's heard of the users who attacked MMM. He goes to the four most popular boards; Current Events, Random Insanity, Next Gen-Gaming, and Life, Universe, and Everything. There, he posts his messages on those boards. He does so and is about to leave until Majikn arrives, asking him if he needs to help. Vinchenz tells him what he just done and Majikn tells him to go check out the messages to see if they've been posted in yet. The two of them do so and are about to leave when a GameFAQs Administrator asks them why they've been doing this. He then attacks the two but loses. Vinchenz is heavily hurt so he logs off while Majikn decides to tell everyone at Club Mega about this.

Chapter 3: Mikero in Microsoft
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku is at his campus, learning complicated coding, with his friends, Alex, Johnathan, and Daryl. The three of them discuss the future and Yorodoku mentions the company he'll soon inherit. Alex, Johnathan, and Daryl ask if they can join his company and Yorodoku says yes.
Chapter Story: Mikero is too bother by the attack and decides to research at Microsoft.COM. He notices a bunch of users heading for an abandoned building. He sneaks inside via Ninja powers, and finds out that a group of people, known as the Lamer Squad, are acting on instructions by a user named Sandman. Mikero follow the users into the MS Cache were they seem to be defending something. Mikero knocks out all the Lamer Lackeys and finds Lamer Leader tampering with some data. Mikero beats him up, and Lamer Leader mentions that the disk isn't here anyway. Mikero logs off.

Chapter 4: Detective Lunchebox
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku is exploring the halls of his new company, VIRUS (Virii Institute of Research and UnderStanding). He finds a portrait of his grandpa hanging on the wall and instantly remembers what his grandpa said to him, about how Yorodoku will change the world.
Chapter Story: Lunchebox is, as well, bothered. He decides to beat up everyone on the Stream if they don't give him info. He finds one user blocking a teleport to some area so Lunchebox beats him up. Inside, Lunchebox finds the P2P Network and barely survives an attack from a Vihemoth (Virus version of Behemoth). Lunchebox, torn up, logs off.

Chapter 5: Vinchenz's Responce
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku is sitting at his desk, complaining to himself on how boring the working as the head CEO of the company is. He accidentally finds a folder detailing his grandpa's networking system, his failure on how people preferred the internet system, and details of a very powerful virus he put into five data disks.
Chapter Story: Majikn remembers about Vinchenz's topics on GameFAQs and ultimately decides to go check them out again. He, alongside Mikero, Snare, and Cherry (or Cherry), go there and find out that they need to enter the P2P Network and ask for a user named Mantis on the forums there. Majikn heads there, and does so. After a bit of waiting, he finds that Mantis responds to the message and to seek him own in the Lower P2P Area. He goes there, meets Mantis, and Mantis tells them about the five data disks and how a user named Abominator came across the disk quite a while ago. The four users immediately head back to MMM.

Chapter 6: Strange Space
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku suddenly stops Alex, Johnathan, and Daryl from their programming. Yorodoku explains that they need to get ready to change the world, and orders the three of them to do research for the data disks. Confused, the three of them comply.
Chapter Story: Nova and Vinchenz decide to check out the new website, Personal Space. There, they set up their own Personal Spaces and explore others. They then notice a rather large Personal Space and decide to see who owns it. It turns out that the Personal Space belongs to the Lamer Squad. Nova and Vinchenz defeat the Lamer Lankies and Leader Lamer. Leader Lamer finally gives up and decides to tell Sandman that he's not going to bother for the search of the data disks anymore. Confused, the two head back to MMM.

Chapter 7: Dangerous Virus Vault
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku gets more insane every day as he struggles with his employees to find the data disks. His money gets wasted everyday, and his stock is lowering at a tremendous speed. Eventually, Alex, Johnathan, and Daryl are his only employees left. Yorodoku then decides to do the illegal scemes.
Chapter Story: Opal illegally enters the Virus Database where she fights tons of virus traces known as "venom." She eventually finds a message board with one post where a user by the name of Vyle Von Viirusu wants to hire a few hackers to search something for him. Opal then heads deeper into the Vault to find out more. There, she finds a strange virus trace... one that almost deletes her. She quickly escapes and immediately heads for MMM.

Chapter 8: The First Data Disk
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku madly laughs. He finally found it; the Virtual World. A world created by his grandpa to hide the five data disks. The only problem is, one of the disks is gone. But he knows where it is. Yorodoku calls his last three employees to have a meeting.
Chapter Story: All the eight Matricians come together to storm the Abominator Tower to find the data disk. Snare leads. At the 20th floor, Snare and Co. find the data disk, guarded by Abomination 1.0b. The eight barely survive and take the data disk. Snare finds a note left by Abe telling the story on where Abe found the disk. It explains that Abe bought the disk from a strange user calming it to have rare data. Abe thought he wasted his money, however, because the disk has nothing but strange programming a lot of Japanese comments. But, just in case, he protected the disk on the 20th floor of his tower.

Chapter 9: Cherry's Visit to the P2P
VVV Excerpt: Yorodoku explains to Alex, Johnathan, and Daryl to head to a website called MegaMan Matrix. The three of them will assult the website and take the Data Disk from the website's Abominator Tower. The three of them are confused by comply to their old friend's request. They will do the attack tomorrow.
Chapter Story: Cherry, Snare, Opal, and Nova decide to go ask Mantis what to do. They head to P2P Network, enter the Lower P2P Area, and find out that Mantis is currently on the Stream, doing some strange hackings. They go back and find Mantis being attacked by the Stream Administrator. The four Matricians help him, and Mantis says that they need to get the four other data disks before a user named Vyle Von Viirusu does. Mantis also explains that he'll open up a link to place called the Virtual World, where they'll find the last four disks. Opal stays behind to help Mantis, and the last three Matricians head back to MMM to tell the others what to do.

Chapter 10: The Virtual World
VVV Excerpt: The excerpts stop here.
Chapter Story: Only a little bit of story here... the eight Matricians enter the Virtual World, and explore a huge overworld with four Zelda-esqe dungeons, where they'll fight bosses that protect the data disks. The dungeons are located in the most northern, southern, eastern, and western parts of this world.
To the north: Mt. Olympus, where they enter the volcano and fight Yodvod.
To the east: The Mayan Pyramids, where they go underground and fight Miodio.
To the south: The Dead Sea, where they go into an underwater shrine and fight Eigor.
To the west: A tower that teleports the party to a sky temple where they fight Kamisame.
After doing all of this, the chapter ends.

Chapter 11: VIRUS Attack!
Chapter Story: The Matricians relax as they try to figure out a way to delete the disks. Then, MMM gets attacked by Sandman, Oblivious, and DarkPhoenix1337!
Vinchenz and Mikero go after DarkPhoenix1337 as he kidnaps more Matricians and uses them against the two.
Lunchebox, Snare, and Opal go fight Oblivious as he deletes various parts of MMM.
Cherry, Nova, and Majikn fend off Sandman as he tries to forcefully take the disks away from them.
The Matricians win, but they lose the Data Disks. Luckily for them, Mikero followed after them and found their base of operations: The VIRUS Tower.

Chapter 12: Vyle Von Viirusu
Chapter Story: Not much story, the final dungeon is here (The VIRUS Tower) and here you can do many sidequests. Once you reach the top of the tower, Sandman, Oblivious, and DarkPhoenix1337 fight you at once. Once you win, they'll give up and delete themselves. The Matricians enter the last room and finally meet Vyle Von Viirusu, face to face. VVV explains that his grandpa created a far more advanced and easier to handle networking system than the current one. VVV plans on using the virus stored on the disks to delete the entire internet, possibly killing many users on it, and then propose his grandpa's networking system to replace the old one, effectively changing the world.
The battle between the Matricians and VVV ensure. VVV loses, but unleashes the virus upon the Matricians: Venomous.EXE. The Matricians barely win, but VVV sets off a program that'll delete the VIRUS Tower and everything inside. The Matricians try to convince VVV to leave but he refuses. Having no choice, the Matricians leave. End game.

Some extra information:

The final boss would be harder depending on how many sidequests you've done. If you did none, Venomous.EXE would be weaker than VVV. If you did them all, he would be harder than the two secret bosses put together.

Talking about the two secret bosses; there was going to be a building in the Virtual World's main town where if you bring the Shiny Stone to, you'll be teleported to another dimension where you would've fought the Vanda Knight Culex from Super Mario RPG. More of fan service than anything. Culex would've been a tough boss, nonetheless.
The shiny stone could have only been gotten by beating the game for the first time.

The second secret boss would've been in the glitched room near the tower in the Virtual World. You enter a few commands on the keyboard and then would've been teleported to Evil Mountain. After doing a dungeon, you'd fight Sauruin, a much tougher boss than Venomous.EXE's second last form.

There would've been two secret dungeons: The Secret Cave Underneath the Sea and the lower levels of the Virus Vault. Both dungeons would've been filled with a few secret items.

There was also going to be five items that, when put together, would've made the best armour in the game that anyone could've worn: The Ultimate Cover. Two of the pieces were going to be dropped by the secret bosses, two more were going to be in the secret dungeons, and the last one would've been in the VIRUS Tower.

ASR would've given you a sidequest where you enter a room and fight hard to delete viruses. Those viruses would've given you tons of experience for easy leveling. You would've had to start the sidequest over whenever you finish it.

ChaosVortex was going to be a secret character and Ares was going to be a secret character. Chaos would've given you a sidequest to recruit him and Ares was going to be found in the Virtual World.

That's all I can remember for secrets.
If anyone has any questions before I lock this, I'll gladly answer.

Good to hear. I was going to be the first one to point out the irony of the whole situation, but at the time it felt tasteless and unfunny due to the circumstance and if I had said it, I probably would've sounded like a total dick.

And if anyone wants to know or cares, I originally didn't want to be in it, but I had a change of heart (for whatever reason I forgot) and wanted to be in as a secret character.

Oh well.

I personally think that we should all vote for this as a tribute.

That's such a good idea that you guys should vote for MMMTV because the creator has such good ideas.

Thanks, guys.

Also, I thought I should share Venomous.EXE's sprite. Not going to be spoilers anymore, anyway.

It's not finished, though, MOX is still working on it. It's nice that he is.
He's supposed to have two giant hands and there's supposed to be a crimson coloured diamond behind the shield. No torso. Once you take out the shield, you have three turns to beat on the diamond and then the shield comes back. The boss dies when the diamond is destroyed.

He was going to have quite a few forms because of the whole side quest things.

Form 1: Only the shield attack.
Form 2: The shield attacks and the hands act as one. It also stronger and has more HP.
Form 3: The shield attacks and both hands attack. Stronger + More HP.
Form 4: Same as the above but the shield has a super, instant killing attack. Also, the diamond will heal the hands if they're down. Stronger + More HP.
Form 5: Same as the above but much, much, MUCH tougher. The last form.

The different forms are due to the side quests (as said) and Vyle Von Viirusu would've made different comments for each form ("It may be a bit early, but I have no choice..." and "Hahaha! You're all too late. Venomous.EXE is nearly at 100% capacity!" etc).

Anyway, here's the sprite. Thank MOX for this!

So V, are you ever going to start a new Virus Attack? If so, I'd love if I can be of some help.

Hm. I went through all of my Appleworks save files and found some things. I had a couple of Virus Attack sprites I wanted to share, most of them are just updates and recolors of the ones I've done before. I wont bother showing them since theres no point now.. but I have this one, just in case you wanted something to look at. It's an update of V man, using your new look. I also used a new design thats close to the FireRed/LeafGreen NPC movements.
