Only a bit brighter than MM4, actually, most of those Robot Masters had pretty vibrant colours.

Lower playercount limit, no dedicated servers, etc.

I like most fruits and vegetables but I heavily dislike the taste of Pineapple.

¬_¬

Pineapple rules. Except on pizza. There is no reason for pineapple to ever be on a pizza. Or a ham. But I don't like ham anyway.
#####en signed on the pineapple and a WTF to you on the ham.

I, for one, welcome our new Combine overlords.

I don't play TF2 as much as I used to, but when I do I'm at the OCRemix server:

8.9.9.102:27015

EDIT: Oh durr, you mean the bad version! Sorry, I have the PC version.
963  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Do you plan to drink? yes/no. on: 11 September 2008, 07:51:23
I try to stay clear of that nonsense altogether by referring to the brand names rather than the generic label.
964  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 11 September 2008, 07:14:32
Often it leads to hilarious misadventures, though, so you're forgiven.
965  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Spore on: 11 September 2008, 07:12:51
On my dad's PC we have a Radeon HD3450 IIRC, but every other video card in the house is integrated, including the laptop making this post, which due to a combination of not having enough RAM for Vista and being an otherwise underacheiving piece of crap lags a whole six years behind industry standard.

I love Intel video cards, don't you?
966  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 11 September 2008, 03:37:30
The single SWF would probably be more suitable than some complex PHP rigmarole.
967  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Spore on: 11 September 2008, 03:30:11
GeForce 4?

Assuming the rest of your computer isn't lagging as much behind North American standard (as in, around five years) as the video card, I think it's time to get GF8-series at least. Unless all you normally do with your computer is browse etc. anyway, in which case you needn't bother for at least another year.

970  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Why is Megaman so popular? Your opinions! on: 9 September 2008, 20:22:22
Originally, I figure it was the vibrant colours, tight(-ish, in the case of the first two games) gameplay and brilliant musical composition.

After that, for ten years or so they just kept getting better (basically) and now the franchise is basically riding on its late-90s momentum.
971  MegaMan Series / StarForce Series / Re: So... MegaMan StarForce 2 just came out. on: 9 September 2008, 19:44:57
I think I can handle it.

I almost feel dirty for doing that.

I disagree with you on that and cite Jedi Knight and Half-Life 2 as my examples, but yes, Perfect Dark does kick a fair amount of ass.

Don't think that's legal in the US (or here for that matter) but otherwise that would be the most popular TV exec move ever.

He probably didn't copywrite it, but any "literary work" like this is protected by copyright laws nonetheless.

Of course, since it seems not to exist there should be no issues. Carry on.

Good luck with that.
981  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 3 September 2008, 00:50:13
Two classes today for me: Discrete Mathematics I and Principles of Microeconomics. The difference in class sizes is immense (150 for the math and almost 500 for economics) but they both seem to be straightforward classes, so I should have little difficulty.

My professors both have slightly asshole tendencies, which is great. I love that kind of teacher.

Tomorrow I'll get a taste of my other three classes, and won't that be fun.

The foot-through-the-floor thing is just for fun, the dashing is for the speed.
984  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 29 August 2008, 20:50:59
AS THEY SHOULD BE!!!

There's supposedly a jazz band at my university but I've not really heard anything about it. I'll try to get in, but a LOT of people are really good trumpet players so just being the best from my high school might not be good enough to make the cut.

I think my best chance at becoming musically active at school is finding an old friend or two and starting up an epic videogame tribute band.

Anyways, today I bought my books, and by the looks of it I'm going to enjoy Philosophy, even though it's just an extra course.
985  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: GENERAL CLASSIC SERIES ENQUIRIES on: 29 August 2008, 18:41:57
I alternate between sliding and jumping, depending on whether I'm playing for speed or fun.

Mega Man X I always play for speed, so I dash or dash-jump, and when I dash-jump I usually try to manipulate it so I'm just short of landing when I go through the door.
986  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 29 August 2008, 18:32:22
I was talking about all that "all your base are belong to us" talk.
Some fads arise from being genuinely funny, and I've always loved to make fun of Engrish.

I don't remember paying much attention to the contents of this thread when I came here, don't know if anyone else would.

Besides, random spam is everywhere. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

Perhaps related to your position in the pit? I'll check the TAS notes for that sort of thing.

Posted on: 27 August 2008, 20:19:03

MM1: In the Fireman level, there is a screen that appears to have a pit in the bottom and a ladder next to it. Jump into the pit (you need velocity), and when the screen scrolls down, Mega Man will be inside a wall.

This is from the "Rockman Tricks" page on TASVideos. So yes, it requires manipulation.

992  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 28 August 2008, 04:08:14
That was a random glitch, then, because I know exactly which pit you're talking about and it works just like the MMAC for me.
