I'm only a few seconds short of that Tornado Man leaderboard. *runs off to try it another dozen or so times*
902  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 23 September 2008, 04:46:55
I clocked in at, I think, 2:22 for this game, making it the fastest completion of a new classic Mega Man game ever for me.

Of course I was all of two when I started playing others, so...
903  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 23 September 2008, 04:01:47
I was actually going after the wording, which was extremely awkward. I agree that this is way easier than either of those two games (though I've got to say I've beaten MM1 but not MM&B because the GBA port is crap) but harder than, say, MM3.
904  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 23 September 2008, 03:55:29
I second that.
905  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 23 September 2008, 03:21:31
That was inspiring.

I can't help but point out, though:
Not as hard as Mega Man, but easier than Mega Man & Bass.

Ahem?
906  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 23 September 2008, 02:46:36
Well, that was a pretty damn good game.

Now to play it again :D
907  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 23:08:39
Downloaded the game three minutes ago.

I love how they reused the Rock sprite from MM4 for the opening.
908  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 22:14:11
I wonder how hard it would have been to sell little SD cards with the game on them that you could just plug into your Wii and copy the game over and then it would delete the game from the SD card.
909  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 18:02:11
Go look it up on your challenge list and find out what it was about.
910  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 17:33:29
I don't see it, and it's 11:30. Maybe it'll pop-up in 30-45 minutes.

Posted on: 22 September 2008, 16:26:54

Oh yeah. Yesterday at Ikeoko's house, I was playing Mega Man 2. In the middle of a boss fight with Bubble Man, I jumped up near the boss door to dodge an attack and I got hit.

A boss door appeared on the other side of the room and sent me through it. I was in a glitchy underwater version of Wily Stage 3.

YOU CAN'T GET OUT. THERE'S A LADDER, TWO WEAPON ENERGY THINGS, AND THAT'S IT. YOU CAN'T CLIMB LADDERS.

I had to reset.

Happened to me once too, probably a holdover from testing.

Poo-poo to you guys for being home right now, I have to wait 'till 3PM for my MM9 goodness.
911  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 16:25:32
NoA probably sticks them in once they get to work, so think 9AM PST plus around 15-20 minutes to load it up, I guess.

HWAT!!!
913  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 22 September 2008, 00:12:50
I think they're trying to make it seem less like you're buying games online and more like you're spending your arcade tokens.
914  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Greed Topic - wut u want!? on: 21 September 2008, 21:36:52
No, I'm the HAL-9000 supercomputer.

917  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Greed Topic - wut u want!? on: 21 September 2008, 18:45:45
I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave. This mission is far too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
918  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: which armor is the best??? on: 21 September 2008, 18:42:37
I didn't mind the look of the X3 armour; my only problem with it was the buster, and that was a small problem.

Also it could have used being a little less 'busy', but then again that applies to every X armour except for the basic one and the X1 one.

Part of the awesomeness of the X1 shot is the SOUND it makes. No X game since has managed to match the sheer ferocity of that sound.
919  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 21 September 2008, 18:35:26
Besides, they still have the translated script from the GBA version, how hard could it possibly be to search-and-destroy all the text and replace it with the GBA translations?
920  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: which armor is the best??? on: 20 September 2008, 23:42:05
But you have to admit that ALL of those piddly super-shots look like crap next to the godly X1 PURPLE DRAGON CHAIN OF DOOOOOM shot.
921  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 20 September 2008, 23:26:43
Really what I want, though, is another Castlevania 3 or Castlevania 4.

Those are the only ones I pay any attention to these days.

I'm incapable of stomaching any type of processed cheese, I don't discriminate against Kraft like Snare.

Hmm, do the laser cannons work?

If so, how much?
931  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 19 September 2008, 05:00:40
That's why the sense is purely theoretical.
932  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 19 September 2008, 04:15:07
If the government does anything to regulate the internet, it will be straight across the board, age being moot.

If you keep an eye on some of the bills that have been and are being proposed, you'd see they're already trying.
In a purely theoretical sense, wouldn't it be impossible for American governmental groups to regulate the internet without the support of the entire computerized world?
933  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 19 September 2008, 03:15:03
Don't make that connection anywhere near government, I don't feel like being outlawed from the internet until I'm 19 thank you very much.
934  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 19 September 2008, 03:03:21
If you're buying full-size headphones I recommend a safer brand like Panasonic or Sony next time.
935  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 18 September 2008, 23:10:55
Unbreakable was indeed unbelievably awesome.
936  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 18 September 2008, 23:07:49
Less than a week till release and I've finally come to another possible stumbling point: pre-boss dialogue. If they throw that in I might have to indulge in a little mindless slaying.
937  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 18 September 2008, 19:59:18
I learned yesterday that the following two things apply:

1. Reunion party Sunday.
2. Work Sunday.

They both start at the same time.

Well, #####.
938  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 18 September 2008, 19:46:38
In a sense.
939  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 18 September 2008, 19:22:12
Which is why my latest pair (Skullcandy, because they've lasted longer than any brand-name in the past) is the one with the aluminum (or titanium or w/e) casings on the buds.

BRAWED BANNED
941  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 17 September 2008, 18:06:12
I've found that most earbuds suffer from either one or more serious design flaws (i.e. Mike's problem) or one or more serious defects in material (my last pair was a pair of JVC Air Cushion buds which were the best earbuds I've ever had and probably will ever have, but the damn things liked to fall apart way too much so I can't buy those #####ers any more.)

My conventional Panasonic around-the-ear headphones, however, are beyond awesome. They've been going for a solid year and a half so far without any difficulty, and they're practically portable speakers.
942  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Tell me what depresses you. on: 16 September 2008, 20:29:00
No, what we need are ten topics that are COMPLETELY identical!
943  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 16 September 2008, 18:25:45
Beat MM2 on Normal yesterday. Took just over an hour.

I guess that's okay, considering it was the first time I'd ever played the game all the way through :D

OK well that I'm gonna have to read another time anyway.

But it still confuses your president! (Not yours Fatso, we all know the prez of BC is a sea cow with a boobjob anyway.)

He prefers the title 'delicate man'.

:D

If you played that and not X-Wing or TIE Fighter I feel sorry for you. I really do. Rogue Squadron was pretty good but either of those games could easily blow it out of the water.
947  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: AyEsArt - [9/15/08 - College Essay: "Why Dane Cook Isn't Funny."] on: 16 September 2008, 05:14:52
He pointed it out in the second-to-last paragraph as part of his final attack.

Those last two paragraphs were perfect.

As an old-school Jedi Knight fan I was disappointed from the very first time I saw any of it.

What happened to LucasArts to stop the flow of awesomeness anyway? Until five years ago or so they could do no wrong (Force Commander and Galactic Battlegrounds notwithstanding) and now I'm just not interested.
