Controls for the 64 edition were already iffy enough without the different configurations of the Classic and 'cube controllers. Giving it a good hard think, it might be doable, but there's no button on the Classic Controller mapped to C-Up IIRC (maybe it was C-Down).

I feel for you.
That reminds me, the United Way threw a book sale at my university yesterday. I was walking by and noticed a rather large selection of science fiction and fantasy.
Picked up four novels:
Bearing an Hourglass and With a Tangled Skein by Piers Anthony (I read On a Pale Horse some seven or eight years ago and promised myself I would read the rest of the series sometime... cut to present day) The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov (not sure why I haven't read this yet) Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams (I haven't read books 2, 3 or 4, but I figure a series like this works similarly enough to the Jerry Cornelius saga for me to read the books in any order I damn well please and none of the others were on sale that I could see)
Total bill: four dollars. No word of a lie.
Read all of Mostly Harmless last night and realized at the end that I really should not have read the books out of order, but whatever.

It's okay, but even I have difficulty getting myself to watch the show, and in fact I haven't seen any of the new season yet.
Casting was #####ing terrible. Nobody at all looks in place there.
I have no opinion one way or another about the new movie.

The Eagles
1. Are you male or female? -James Dean
2. Describe yourself. -Desperado
3. What do people feel when they're around you? -Wasted Time
4. How would you describe your previous relationship? -Victim of Love
5. Describe your current relationship. -There's a Hole in the World
6. Where would you want to be now? -In the City
7. How do you feel about love? -Heartache Tonight
8. What's your life like? -Life in the Fast Lane
9. What would you ask for if you had only one wish? -Tequila Sunrise
10. Say something wise. -Take it Easy
In the City is a stretch, but they did cover it and Joe Walsh was a member of the band.
Same deal with Heartache Tonight, technically a Bob Seger song but they collaborated with him on it too.

Negatory, good sir. Having used both (the iPod was a nano from two generations ago, don't know if anything has changed much since then), I can give a quick rundown of the obvious pros and cons:
+Clean, crisp display +#####ing invincible most of the time - my incident was an aberration (you can't say that about any Apple product) +Format-agnostic (will play basically any type of audio you throw at it, compressed or uncompressed, except for protected AAC and I think FLAC, and supports a wide range of video codecs) +Playlist creation and editing on-the-fly. +No synchronization. This is my biggest gripe with iPods other than fragility and anal-retention concerning audio/video codecs. Synchronization is unbe#####inglievably stupid. +SD card slot for expanded capacity.
-Navigation is somewhat clunky and unintuitive, unlike iPod which has pretty good menu organization -Much shorter battery life (like, maybe 3/4 as much) -Unreliable battery indicator -Can't run programs from it (shows up as a media player, not a removable hard drive) -#####ing anal video resolution/filesize requirements. If it's not 320x240 and between like 600-1000Kbps the ZEN won't play it. This is strange considering how open it is with video codecs.
I've had a year of cumulative use with each brand, and hands-down I'd give the ZEN the edge, unless Apple has found a way to turn ##### into wine in the last year.
EDIT: So, turns out there's no choice in the matter, the ZEN is totally broken now. Yay for totally reconfiguring a year-old second-hand iPod... can't wait until I've gotten past the frantically-saving-up-for-second-semester phase, because I've lost about $250 in broken and almost-broken audio equipment over the last two or three weeks. Even my #####ing portable-speaker-sized headphones need replacing.

Spark Mandrill Boomer Kuwanger Armoured Armadillo Fortress 1 Fortress 2 Sting Chameleon Flame Mammoth Chill Penguin Ending Cast Credits
That's eleven, and I like each one of them more than Storm Eagle, and there are several more which are marginal.
Don't get me wrong, it's great - it's just that there's so much other awesomeness in the soundtrack that I don't understand its dominance.

Sting Chameleon was extremely annoying for the longest time.
EDIT: I hate Storm Eagle.
I hate Storm Eagle so much.
It's his damn theme. I'm okay with that theme - it's pretty good, I'll admit, the whole soundtrack is awesome - but I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYBODY LOVES THAT SONG SO DAMN MUCH. Every time I hear about Mega Man X music it's always STORM EAGLE STORM EAGLE STORM EAGLE DUUUH DUT DUT DUT DUH-DUH-DUH DAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH when there are like at least ten or twelve better songs in the game.

I find it hard to imagine a less comfortable creative environment for me.
Anyways... ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### ##### #####
#####
I dropped my ZEN again yesterday, and while that's happened a million times and I rarely worry about it, this time the #####ING LCD BROKE. Now I'm left with no option but to
a) use my ZEN without the display - I have an encyclopedic knowledge of the menus anyway
b) use an iPod
I'm going with option A for as long as humanly possible.

Almost halfway. My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks so I promised myself I would hit 50,000 by then (regardless of whether I've actually finished the story or not) and have been pacing myself accordingly.
It's going surprisingly smoothly, which is why I've been able to keep up on the internet as well as in school while still balancing this humongous project in between the two.

Saw The Shining last night. Surprisingly, it's the first time I've ever seen it. Wonderful movie, reminded me how great an actor Nicholson is, now I need to go find myself a copy of the novel.
In a totally unrelated coincidence (because I was watching the movie I had to put off my contribution to my November novel until around 11, then I did three hours of work on it), I only got four hours of sleep last night and now my body is doing weird ##### against my will, like trying to fall asleep.

Better story (still not good but doesn't make me want to throw my DS across the room), less rape-you-up-the-ass difficult, dual screens made certain functions easier (even though those functions were by-and-large stupid), and they're not actually defiling the X series characters anymore, just their 'souls'.

Took like ten tries to install the update, but now I have MM3 and just about to beat it for the second time.
First time was absolutely brutal. I swear that Wiimote raped my thumbs. I should bring it up on charges. The game I've beaten almost as many times as any other and three years ago would NEVER finish in over an hour, took 90 minutes. #####ing terrible.
This second run is looking more reasonable, though still clunky.

I've never been sure how to interpret that sentence in MM4's intro anyway. It could just be a new Mega Buster, or it could be THE new Mega Buster. Doesn't help that it was only shown as "P" before then.

So really you COULD just move your fingers mid-play if it was necessary. Too used to SNES games to not use B jump Y shoot with the Classic Controller. For the longest time my SNES controller's B button was broken (and when I finally cracked open the controller to take a look I discovered that the soft jellified pad holding the contacts that constitute the input part of the 'buttons' was actually torn at the B button, among other problems with the controller, most of which arose from simple old age), and I had to remap B and Y to A and X for what games I could, and I hated it.
