No, you'd only need one program and one service, Ventrilo and xfire respectively. Both are free and will provide more than adequate solutions to the communications and community problem.

Thing is, what else does Live provide? Achievements and all that ##### are not valid arguments, they are simply idiotic. If you want to gloat about your innumerable gaming exploits, good for you! Don't #####ing bother me with it.

Live's biggest problem, though, is one based on the console itself: no dedicated servers. Dedicated servers are very important in the PC gaming world because they reduce lag and help maintain the community sense - going to the same server you will tend to see the same people playing, and after a while they become e-friends.

Don't forget that PCs get the same standard of online service for free in the vast majority of cases.

I don't really have a reason to buy a 360 in the first place, but even if I did, Live pisses me off and they would have to nuke it to seal my purchase.

Until they man up and make online multiplayer free of charge I will not buy a 360.

Yesterday was a crazy day for two reasons.

First: I took a break. First time I've had the opportunity for that luxury in a good two or three months. It was very refreshing.

Second: Manager slipped and fell square on her ass, I think I heard something about a fractured tailbone. It was not fun to watch. Ambulance had to be called, and by the looks of things the damage was not only to her tailbone.

It's his last project with Rare, anyway. Whether he goes on to compose for other games I don't know yet, but his career is far from over.
