"Your speed was: 89wpm.
Congratulations! You made no mistakes, practice does make perfect."
Touch-typing and NaNo for the win.
...really? I thought my average was around 60wpm usually, and 60wpm is much better than the average typist. Not only that, I'm on a LAPTOP. Something is afoot here.
EDIT: Aha! Found it! I don't think other typing tests use standardized word-units of five characters.

Perhaps I have just been too spoiled by wonderful games like Tribes and Half-Life and Quake and Unreal, but I find the prospect of buying a merely-okay shooter these days less than appetizing, which is why I'm disappointed by Far Cry 2 (definitely not worth your $50, even if I disagree with people who consider it one of the worst games of 2008)

Infinity Ward, the devs of the first Call of Duty game and a FANTASTIC group of game-makers, were in charge of cod2 and 4. Treyarch, a developer nobody's heard of before for good reason, were in charge of 3 and 5. The quality differences are gargantuan.
EDIT: cod4 is really good but I wouldn't call it 'perfection' by any criterion. There are individual games that do individual things much better than cod4 (for example, UT3 looks better and has better deathmatch, and Counter-Strike has a better bomb-defuse game mode). cod4's strength is pulling it all together and doing all of it pretty well.

They're coming to Vancouver, but the tickets to that show sold out in literally five seconds (I witnessed the plight of someone trying to secure a few tickets for themselves). How so many people managed to find scripts that type in a captcha for them defeats me.
The root of the problem of course is that there are 16,000 seats for a metropolitan area of 2,000,000 people. And we have lax anti-scalping laws.

There was talk on the forum of going Penguin-Eagle-Mammoth-Kuwanger-Chameleon-Mandrill-Armadillo-Penguin-Octopus-Armadillo-Fortress, but nobody ever tested it extensively and I'm not qualified to do so.

Well durr it's old news, the run was completed like two and a half years ago.
I am obviously not JC but I've cracked 44 minutes start to finish
EDIT: That'd be for the 100% run of course. Minimalist I've done a 36-minute run but probably couldn't do it again on demand.

FINALLY in training to be a cook at the restaurant, figures that my second shift on line would be for the superbowl. Fortunately our restaurant's superbowl party is lame enough that I was anything but busy (in fact I probably spent more time restocking and cleaning than cooking #####), but unfortunately my shift was truncated as a result.

I should have done my homework before I started on this. Windows 98 doesn't like my crappy integrated Intel graphics card chipset, and vice versa.
Windows 2000, on the other hand, is supported. I'm going to try that next. In fact I'll probably switch my D: partition to win2k when I'm done with win7.

I've probably spent about three hours of my time actively trying to get Tribes 2 to work again. Between all the possible compatibility modes and creating a virtual machine with Windows 98 I've exhausted basically any idea I could possibly have. #####ing unhandled exception c0000005

Most of my high-school friends are girls, so unfortunately when we all decided to go see a movie it was "Bride Wars".
Suffice it to say that I was not there because I expected the movie to be brilliant.
EDIT: On the other hand, it was not a COMPLETE waste of my time, there were a few good gags.

Now that my laptop can finally achieve playable framerates in C&C3, I've been playing through the GDI campaign and enjoying every minute of it. I've always loved the series' over-the-top FMV cutscenes and ridiculous storylines.

Verdict so far: great. Boots faster, runs leaner, has actually made some games which were unplayable on my machine under Vista playable (C&C 3, I'm looking at you).
I was lucky enough to have a preexisting partition on my hard drive, didn't have to do any formatting or whatnot.

Just grabbed myself a Windows 7 beta. So far it looks a lot like Vista, and though I've heard it runs much leaner and faster I haven't really been able to put it to the test yet. In fact, I don't think Intel even has Windows 7 drivers out for my POS integrated graphics card yet :S

FILM IT WHEN IT HAPPENS.
There was a forty-five minute lineup just to get into the university bookstore yesterday, and I went at 9:30 AM.
Like, when the store OPENED.
But I did get in and I spent $500 and for that I got enough books for it to FEEL like I spent $500, which surprised me.

Monday my university cancelled all classes due to excessive snow and being on a big #####ing hill and such, so today was the first day back at school for me, which was nice because Tuesday is my easiest day - merely a two-hour Fundamentals of Music lecture.
What is strange about this Fundamentals of Music class is the fact that I might actually learn something I didn't already know. I was already well aware of my lack of music theory (which is why I didn't simply apply for a course waiver in the first place), but did not think the course would extend very much past what I do know. But in fact I will likely spend the entire last third of the course actually learning.

The SNES version get's on my nerves way easily. I have no idea how you can actually prefer the SNES version. Maybe you're just messing with me. I'm not. The GBA's sound capabilities are far inferior to the SNES. I'll take a sampled bass over a sawtooth wave any day, and sampled synth leads over a square wave.
