If you have a point to get across and want to do so musically, there are a number of ways to do it; I simply don't subscribe to the harsher methods, though I suppose I can understand the appeal. Sort of.
When listening to rock I'm usually looking for something of the type prevalent in the '70s, and U2 was one of the only bands that kept peddling anything even close to '70s rock in the '80s.
My musical tastes in general are wide and varied but I won't willingly listen to anything that can induce a headache in less than two minutes.

With nifty enough keymapping you can make Goldeneye play like a PS2 shooter on a PS2-esque gamepad (like most of them are these days) under 1.2
Not that I would have any experience with that. This is where we should stop the discussion

It got really techno-y and #####ty near the end, so I had to revise my opinion to 'merely okay', but then again for super-powered techno like that it's not too bad.

Uh oh, this can't be good
...
In general not a big fan of techno, but this remix is not half-bad.
EDIT: Now that I've heard a bit more of it, I change my mind

Synth-brass will be a no-go, it detunes too easily and I don't want to have to play with it constantly. Still pinching the basses and I think I'll find some use for the overdriven guitar. Posted on: March 10, 2009, 09:11:08 PM
Wasn't in the composition mood, but WAS in the music-making mood, so I decided to continue discovering new features of the program while punching out a rendition of Mega Man 7's first fortress tune with no regard for polyphony limits. Did you know that the synthesizer doing those damned bells takes over 40% of my CPU time when rendering in real time? I had to turn them off when not actually rendering the final project. Same drill as before. http://www.freewebs.com/colonelfatso/mm7-fortress1.mp3

Yeah, I'll go back and make that warning bigger, it's hotlinking protection on freewebs' part, you have to copy-paste the url
EDIT: But really the solution to the problem is for me to get off my lazy ass and actually make a home page instead of just dumping all my files there.

I have enough documentation to substantiate my claim by myself, though I appreciate the offer. Posted on: October 22, 2008, 08:07:06 PM
Yesterday I decided that it was time to stop just oohing and aahing at all the wonderful soundfonts and VSTs that came with FL Studio and actually use a few of them a little. Had to go online to obtain a trumpet soundfont for this because the program didn't happen to include one and I lack the equipment to get quality recordings of my own just-better-than-meagre playing. It's bland, repetitive and pretty derivative, but it IS a start to what I hope will become a substantial, successful composition hobby. Gonna have to copy the URL on this, because freewebs are assholeshttp://www.freewebs.com/colonelfatso/blaaahahav2.mp3EDIT: Hmm, they stream the mp3s now, didn't know about that EDIT2: Just to make sure noone misses the warning this time

Just got back from seeing it. Pretty good, but I got tired of Dr. Manhattan's blue junk gently flapping in the breeze every second scene. And the whole disintegrating-people-except-for-their-blood-which-goes-spraying-everywhere-instead was slightly excessive.
I also noted that they took special care to avoid destroying the World Trade Centre.

Dicks like that are the reason I try to read as much of the source material for comic book movies as possible before I see them, to avoid the possibility of becoming such a dick.

Which sort, the 16 oz or 2L variety? I can't see downing a whole 2L, but then I like to savor things. Plus, the plastic gives the drink a slightly off taste, and I'd rather have it from a can or fountain (mmm, fountain soda). 20oz. Coca-Cola is the only drink I could down 2 litres of in any reasonable amount of time, besides water and ginger ale. I don't know if I've said this before but in my first three weeks at A&W I drank enough root beer for several lifetimes and really can't have root beer more than twice or three times a year now without finding it utterly disgusting.
