I think a general large head-tiny body 16-bit "chibi" style would work, so long as they were the same general height. Several games use that style, including the Pokemon ones that are being used for the MMM game. So plenty of potential variety while keeping with the basic proportions.

Mind you, if we're doing a comic, I'm making a whole new sheet cause that one I posted is too simple. Need... detail... and five hundred colours...
452  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Current Events/Interesting Articles Thread on: 4 December 2007, 16:35:34
Ontario Woman. Rampage. Samurai Swords.

Epic lulz ensured.

Oh man. All the awesome is happening around here lately.

I want a samurai sword.
453  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The corrupted wish game. on: 4 December 2007, 16:34:26
Granted. Ice Age occurs. A mammoth tramples your house.

I wish I had more hard drive space.
454  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: MMM Memories on: 4 December 2007, 16:23:01
I remember that FF6 thing. I spent a whole... half hour... on my sheet.

What were the problems with that, by the way? Were you just trying to replace the sprites, or was it dialogue as well?
455  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: MMO Suggestions on: 4 December 2007, 16:16:58
I dunno, sometimes all you want to do is kill eight hundred inappropriately-named anthro fungi.

Heh. "Horny mushroom."
456  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: MMO Suggestions on: 4 December 2007, 04:55:45
Couldn't find a place that had hacks that didn't look dodgy. So meh.
457  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The corrupted wish game. on: 4 December 2007, 04:23:16
Granted, but right when you finish the last few lines of code, a sudden virus rears its head and eats your hard drive. Endgame. Literally.

I wish my camera would fix itself.
458  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: What did YOU do while MMM was down? Update us on you. on: 4 December 2007, 04:19:37
Lack of context implies that you stole those two cup sizes from her and are commandeering them yourself.

...

So evidently Winged is now a B-cup.

X-posted from the sprite thread.

Bam. Yubi in this blue suit.
460  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: MMM Memories on: 4 December 2007, 03:59:55
That looks suspiciously like cat vomit.

I'm suddenly not hungry at all.
461  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 4 December 2007, 03:47:46

Bam. Yubi in this blue suit.

Oh, and found a really, really old avatar I made from the very first sprites I did. It was probably some 'tarded BnG fad, but it still makes me snicker when I look at it.

462  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 4 December 2007, 02:16:15
Oh, normally, it's great. Gives you a reason to actually stay on the server after the hack-slash-hack-slash of levelling gets old, and there's a lot of genuine hilarity and creativity. But it also attracts a stunning amount of dumb and drama.
463  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 4 December 2007, 02:06:02
I've read roleplay sessions where the grand demon gets attacked simultaneously by about five people, the magician sets off spells that totals the city square, someone shoves a fist right through the demon's chest, etc, etc, and the demon still owns every single one of them.

And it was somehow legit every time.

Sigh.
464  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 4 December 2007, 02:00:43
I never understood much why people wanted winged characters in RO. Especially when the wings they use normally look like crap.

Those aren't bad for some reason, but maybe it's because they look like the right style.

Not my choice. Server I'm working with wants Avians for roleplaying, so I has to be making with the feathers. At least we quashed any stupid angel-demon character crap. Talk about a recipe for godmoding and disaster.

Also, thanks. :>
465  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Any ideas for the future of MMM? on: 4 December 2007, 01:57:48
Thats why there should be strict rules, set in place by Abe.

Still. Seems like a lot of work and extra rules to enforce and approvals just so MadReploidDude can have a pink zero helmet with a broadsword and trapeze pants or something, that he'll parade in MChat for maybe two days before he gets bored. Which seems pretty likely to me.

If custom avatars happen, I think it would really only work on a case-by-case basis, and no fuss about post count.
466  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 4 December 2007, 01:51:13
The most spriting I've done these days is for RO. (Right now I SHOULD be doing dwarf beards. I'll just keep procrastinating on that one.) There's this:

...Which was just grabbing part of a wing from an existing RO monster, shrinking it, and fitting it to a human sprite. So. Not really spriting, just shifting.
467  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 4 December 2007, 01:45:16
meh I'll do it when there's more than one page of thread. Too lazy.

Here's the next comic, introducing two characters plus one more. Zed is Urban Dead slang for a zombie, by the by.

Also, goggles are awesome.

468  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: The request thread! on: 4 December 2007, 01:28:03
I do commissions, and I don't think people here are willing to actually pay for art, so y'know.

I'm open for art trades, mind you.
469  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: MegaMan Matrix: VIRUS Attack!! (Development Topic) on: 3 December 2007, 22:32:37
I need sheets of reference sprites if I'm going to make one for me.
470  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Goodbye Pisces - Art Thread on: 3 December 2007, 21:05:09
It's cool. :>

Here's the Coatlicue girl coloured:
http://yubishines.deviantart.com/art/Coatlicue-Waitress-71287942

I have learned this about Painter X: pastels are much friendlier tools, and the watercolours make me howl with rage and gnaw on the edges of the monitor. If that's how they work in real media, then I'm never going into fine art.
471  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Any ideas for the future of MMM? on: 3 December 2007, 20:31:08
I don't know. Post limit to do X always irks me. At higher numbers it encourages more spam, not less. There should be a better way of handling custom avatars, if they happen.

Can't think of one for the life of me, though.

There's also the "quality control, dammit" part in me that doesn't want to see stupid edits clogging up the chat. Oh, user-created content, you bane and boon.
472  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 19:28:42
I could just link to each new comic page in a list on the top post.

Although that won't work if people attach the pages instead of host them themselves. Hmm. Maybe I'd just link the post itself in that case.
473  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: MMO Suggestions on: 3 December 2007, 19:26:20
Kingdom of Loathing, nub. It is made of awesome.

Also, Twilight Heroes. Similar kind of humor and gameplay as Loathing, but it's newer and it has its differences.
474  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: MMM Memories on: 3 December 2007, 18:40:13
If MChat does come back, there really (really) needs to be more female avatars. Ones that aren't Roll and Kalinka. Alia and Iris, for instance. I'd be more than happy to sprite them myself.

(Of course, I'd still be using Elec Man all the time, but y'know.)
475  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 3 December 2007, 18:36:23

476  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 03:26:58
This is starting to become some weird version of The Day The Saucers Came. And we're just two pages in.

Not that I'm complaining.
477  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: MMM Memories on: 3 December 2007, 03:25:15
I remember how everyone tried to freaking cyber in MChat. What the hell?
478  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 03:13:15

479  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Matricians: Show your desktops! (Not dial-up friendly!) on: 3 December 2007, 03:08:09
That is such a depressing game. They're all big and sad and... sort of confused.
480  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 03:02:25
It could be human-sized for all we know. There's nothing standing by the robot to show any scale. >_>!

Robots, raptors, and undead, oh my.
481  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Avatars! on: 3 December 2007, 02:59:01
So a fedora isn't a type of hat?

The Northern Bog Fedora have cylindrical bodies covered with long grey or brown fur with pale grey underparts, and sport grooved upper incisors. Found in wet northern forests, bogs, tundra and meadows, they feed on grasses, sedges, snails, and slugs.

...what?
482  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Any ideas for the future of MMM? on: 3 December 2007, 02:53:24
I got my stuff stolen once, and I'm only a cough in the spriting world.

Then the thief's entire comic's subforum went down.
I choose to believe it was the modern god's form of a smite.
483  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Goodbye Pisces - Art Thread on: 3 December 2007, 02:48:51
This is a personal art thread, yes o_o

Chron: And since a certain person put a horrible, horrible idea into my head right after I finished that drawing... Well. For what is to come next, think The House of Red Fireflies*, except kid-friendly. Mostly. Sort of.

484  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 02:37:40
I ain't saying NO COMEDY NEVER EVER GRRRRR DIE. I'm saying the "pikachu beartrap cowbell laser hippo" kind of random is retarded and is only funny for the first five seconds. Funny can be coherent.
485  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 01:31:10
I don't remember what goes on seven months ago. I don't even remember what happens seven hours ago. At any rate, it's a BRAND NEW DAY. BRAND NEW DAY!
486  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / PLAGUE -- A Comic Jam on: 3 December 2007, 01:28:07
Here we go again.

Let's lay down some ground rules:
1: You contribute 1-2 pages at a go, then pass it on to the next person.

2: You keep things coherent. Random plotlines get old extremely fast.

3: Do not say you'll post the next page unless you are certain you are going to get one up, or you'll make people wait unnecessarily.

4: This one will be unique to this Jam, but I'm putting it in to as an experiment. Only original characters. You cannot put in your pre-made characters. You cannot put in your pre-made characters with transparent re-tools to pretend they are original. In every single Jam in the past, even when they were good, everyone made their personal character into a Mary-Sue and tried to pull the plot their way. I did it, you did it, everyone did it. Let's try and make this a story.

5: Try not to create too many characters at once. Introduce one or two at a time. A glut of new characters makes things hard to follow, especially when keeping up with people's different art styles.

6: MSPaint, Photoshop, sprites, pencils, pen, the medium you do a page doesn't matter. At the very least -- very least -- make the text readable.

Roger? Roger. Okay, on with the show.

You read right -- ZOMBIE PLAGUE SLASHER COMIC.
Whether you want to make this a bloodfest, a conspiracy, a satire, it's up to you.
Who's next?

( 2 ) ( 3 ) ( 4 )

From Hellboy (can't remember which comic -- I think it was Makoma), slightly edited. Mostly the colour and shifting the balloon so it fit inside the square.

Also, HAY THAR.
489  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: That ol' Sprite Thread on: 3 December 2007, 00:05:45
I found the site, and eh, the rates are too high for the gameplay I'm used to (the roleplay server I'm semi-helping with is planned to be 20x, and that's already pushing it for me), but they do look like they have a really neat setup. On the fence on this one.
490  MegaMan Series / StarForce Series / Re: GENERAL STARFORCE SERIES ENQUIRIES on: 3 December 2007, 00:01:23

492  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: What did YOU do while MMM was down? Update us on you. on: 2 December 2007, 23:32:41
Oh, Sims games. I spend whole days creating a skin and outfit and house and arrangement, then actually play the game for maybe three hours. In the end I have the entire neighborhood fall madly in love with everyone in the household, and then I'm thoroughly bored and uninstall.

Kind of miss Sim Towers, though. That was fun. If repetitive.
493  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Which Megaman would you want for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on: 2 December 2007, 23:28:24

They're virtually identical, but if one's down, you can see the other.

(2013 EDIT: Tumblr tends to have more recent things, DA tends to be more reliable, Storm-Artists is the least-often updated but has the least annoying site design.)

Recent Things of Note:
Golden
Em
Lore
Curls
Vex (a demon from a recent dream)
Valor (unfinished)
Coatlicue Waitress (unfinished, and is probably going to get me killed from the goddess in question)

Comic Jams should have had original characters. Letting people put their self-characters in = MORE MARY SUES THAN IN THE BACKALLEYS OF FANFICTIONDOTNET.

Yes I was guilty of it BUT SO WAS EVERYONE ELSE.

In fact, I'll go start one right now.

500  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Music! on: 2 December 2007, 22:22:56
Discovered Tilly and the Wall. They involve tap-dancing in their music. It is a delight.

Listened to lots of Stars, Decemberists (Mariner's Revenge Song is ffuuunnn), Sufjan Stevens, Fingathing. A buddy sent me every Johnathan Coulton song in existence, which I have yet to listen to.

Spent most of today downloading Tori Amos songs. They're kinda background music for me, I think -- they're good, but only a few really catch me and make me sing along.
