This shows how up to date I am about this crap, since the article was posted March 5: Watchmen Movie CostumesJust about everything makes me shriek like a small child on helium (Dr. Manhattan isn't there, unfortunately, but I guess there's not much costume there to start with), with the possible exception of Ozymandias. I'm hoping it's just the photo, but he looks too weedy. Also, armor nipples. :(

I must be going crazy.
Had a dream (one that I'm sure I've had once before) that was a really bad, embarassingly bad, plot for a movie. A girl who was granted a wish from a fairy godmother to be "forever young and beautiful", just like a Barbie doll. She goes to an elaborate dance, a prince (obviously) falls for her, she gets drunk and crazy (obviously) and leaps to her doom off a balcony. Before she hits the ground, she turns into (OBVIOUSLY) a Barbie doll. She also wakes up in her house, unhurt.
Blah blah hijinks with Obligatory Brunette Best Friend blah blah prince goes searching for her and gets seduced by Obligatory Brunette Vixen blah blah.
I could swear I've actually seen this movie, though. Which kind of proves how bad so many movies are. Ugh.
On the other hand, the rest of the dream also included her having the power to bring dead things back to life, and for some reason she collected mummified bodies of small animals, and she suddenly found herself surrounded by a whole lot of fuzzy things that crapped on the carpet and needed feeding.

Check it out, an intelligent word game. Here are the guidelines:http://www.ironcircus.com/blog/000814.htmlTo fit this as a forum game:- I start out with an example word for someone to define. The next poster explains it and gives another word (or person, or whatever). And on. No one gets voted out because that overcomplicates things. - Obviously you're not going to listen to this one, but restrict references from Wikipedia or a dictionary. - No, you can't lie to the natives. It's cheating and everyone will hate you. And you'll be dead, because the natives are really good lie detectors. Because I said so. Ready? "Scientist"

What girl? I'm not familiar with Runaways. It reminds you of Persepolis? Sweet. I love that movie. http://yubishines.deviantart.com/art/Echidna-82796736It's nagging at me that the present-day-goddess designs look too much like normal people, even if that was the point. I don't really like this particular one. The arms look too short, although when I measure them with my hands and swivel them to be vertical, they're the right length. I'll do a better one of her and Medusa at some point.

I said I didn't like the first two Fables earlier in the thread, and I still don't, but the later books that I've read (Storybook Love, March of the Wooden Soldiers) shaped up to be pretty good. I still think the storytelling is too jumpy, though, as in, it goes from point A to D without mentioning B and C much if at all.
It also over-expositions at times.
Each character will remind and reremind the audience that Sleeping Beauty's curse involves sleeping and Bluebeard kills womens. It doesn't happen with the more obscure/made up stuff like Bigby's background, and a relatively unknown character from folklore like Reynard the fox doesn't get any introductory text at all. Weird.
For one thing, if they're all immortals that have lived with each other for so long, why would they need to remind each other of what they are? And if the main cast are well-known fairy tale figures (Snow White, Big Bad Wolf, Briar Rose) why would the audience need to be reminded who they are? Granted, Bluebeard's a little more obscure, probably since Disney would never make a movie out of him. Too bad, since I like his story. They'd probably design him to look like Jafar and make him a wicked sorcerer, though.
You know how I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman's works?
Last night I had a dream that Laura from American Gods went to London Below from Neverwhere. Then it segued into some story about Desire from The Sandman.
Good. Gravy.

This seemed like to best place to post this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_familial_insomniaThis disease, even though my family in all likelihood doesn't have it, frightens me to my core. It's even worse than when I start coming up with horrible tortures for stories and I end up scaring the pee out of my own self. Direct wiki quote 'cos I'm lazy: The age of onset is variable, ranging from 30 to 60, with an average of 50. Death usually occurs between 7 to 36 months from onset. The presentation of the disease varies considerably from person to person, even among patients from within the same family.
The disease has four stages, taking 7 to 18 months to run its course:
1. The patient suffers increasing insomnia, resulting in panic attacks and phobias. This stage lasts about four months. 2. Hallucinations and panic attacks become noticeable, continuing about five months. 3. Complete inability to sleep is followed by rapid loss of weight. This lasts about three months. 4. Dementia, turning unresponsive or mute over the course of six months. This is the final progression of the disease, and the patient will subsequently die. In short, you do not sleep for the last nine months of your life, and spend most of it crazy and hallucinating. Aughaughaugh. I can't think about this anymore. Did I mention there are brain-eating amoebas that thrive in waters during the summer months, and they enter your body when you go swimming and go OM NOM NOM? I need to stop reading these things.

More and more every day, I find I suffer from constant deja vu.
I cannot tell anymore whether it's because I really have dreamed or envisioned moments that have just now come to pass, or if it's a state of mind. Or if my life is repeating little moments over and over and I don't remember them properly until they happen.
Welcome to the Matrix.

Playing the demo. Current comments:
- Very nice choice of music. I like.
- There's a slightly too long delay between the attack flash and the actual attack. It's a little annoying.
- Is there a window to check what the usable keys are? So far I only know Enter, Insert, and the arrow keys apply. Be neat if they could be customizable somehow (my mind defaults to "A key = Home, B key = End").
- I think there's a typo. "Severely lagging," not "severally lagging." Also, on the social board, Rock says "yesturday" instead of "yesterday."

I think if you genuinely think there's nothing going for you, no one should be able to stop you. But you should still think about getting help, or at least put your affairs in order first.
That includes saying goodbye properly to family and friends. Not a note. Too much of the trauma afterwards is the "why did they do it."
Anyway.
Things are slow and I am tired. Snowstorm today. Walked outside, screamed "YOU CALL THIS SNOW, YOU BASTAGES?!" The wind picked up.
Boring field trip cancelled! Half my school day off. Hooray!
Will spend long weekend sleeping.

Finally got my minighosts in the mail! Lined up on top of my monitor, I have titled all fourteen: pink, pirate, cyclops, triclops, dead, deader, shifty-eyed, picasso, cracked out, neon, blacklight, modern, yellow fever, and chocolate milk. And a yellow slug magnet. I am pleased.

Finally scanned in the second weirdest receipt I've ever received. (The first weirdest receipt was when the 7-11 cashier accidentally charged me two hundred bucks for a slurpee.) I swear, all I bought was gum and some candy.
