101  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 18 October 2018, 02:22:22
I feel like Mega Man echoes would work better if they were Proto Man or Roll. X could maybe work if he was based on Mega Man but not fully an echo. Similar to Isabelle and Villager.

Zero would've been sweet, but maybe next time.
102  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 17 October 2018, 21:01:22
I mean, I like MM2 as much as the next guy, but it'd be nice to see more remixes from other games. We have a few from 1 and 3... and now one from 4... but at this rate every theme from 2 will be remixed before we get anything from 5-10.
103  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 11 October 2018, 19:34:31
I personally really love MM1, but I'm super biased since it was one of the first games I ever played as a kid. It does have its flaws, but overall it was still pretty solid. I think my only hated parts back then were fighting Yellow Devil and the Copy Robot.
104  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 10 October 2018, 19:27:05
I played Mother 3 about a decade ago when that project was done, and I really did enjoy it then. I would love to replay it at some point, though part of me is hoping they'll finally give us it officially in English someday...

I still prefer EarthBound, but Mother 3 has its own charms as well. The first game though... I've never beaten it. Too tedious.
105  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 9 October 2018, 16:34:04
Did Skull Barrier even have any practical use? Even using it as Dive Man's weakness was probably more dangerous than going Buster only...

And I agree, the shield weapons are generally bad... I think only Jewel Satellite and Junk Shield are the ones I'd actually use outside of boss weaknesses.
106  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 8 October 2018, 16:58:24
I've used Double Gear once but only when the boss was basically dead, using it too early is literally a death sentence since you end up being useless afterward.

And yeah, I never use Power Gear either. Like you said, it burns way too quick to make it worthwhile.
107  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 5 October 2018, 21:47:51
Mine would be something like:

7 > 2 > 1 > 3 > 4 > 10 > 9 > 11 > 6 > 8 > 5
108  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 5 October 2018, 20:00:22
Honestly I played Casual for the same reason. Customizable difficulty in a game like this would be great. Would've preferred to play Normal but with infinite lives, but eh.
109  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 5 October 2018, 17:36:29
I wonder if the type of enemy decides what the roulette consists of, sometimes I see E Tanks but sometimes it's just regular life capsules or energy capsules. Or maybe it's entirely random.
110  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 5 October 2018, 04:24:20
Honestly I was a tad bit disappointed that there was only one Wily Stage theme, but I guess the song itself isn't bad so it's fine.

Kinda wish the piano tracks bonus remixed all the tracks, that'd be nice...
111  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 4 October 2018, 07:31:47
Yeah, I do like Block Dropper, Tundra Storm and sometimes Scramble Thunder, but the rest of them are kinds meh or hard to use correctly.

No shield weapon will ever beat how broken Jewel Satellite was.
112  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 3 October 2018, 16:08:41
I actually really like the piano themes much more than the originals, but unfortunately only the 8 Main Stages are changed... the rest is still the techno stuff.
113  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 3 October 2018, 04:32:02
I just beat it, my thoughts, spoilers ahead:
Overall the game is fun, but some stages and some sections are pretty tedious or cheap, which is unfortunate...

The lack of both Proto Man and Bass is weird. Neither one shows up at all.

Yellow Devil again, because why not...

Most levels are pretty doable without the gears, but Acid Man's Stage has some pretty cheap spike traps laid about in later sections... Wily Stage 1 is also pretty annoying in general.
Basically, non-spoiler version: It was fun, but some of the stages aren't designed very well balance wise.

114  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 3 October 2018, 02:34:35
I'm done with the 8 bosses and I'm at the end now, will probably finish it tonight.
Wily Stage Select is pretty cool, didn't want to have to play every stage in a row once again.
115  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 2 October 2018, 21:49:45
I personally don't like Mega Man 5 or Mega Man & Bass but even so they're still decent. Mega Man 7 is great, I find it odd people think its bad.

Bounce Man's Stage is definitely the worst I've played so far though.
116  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 2 October 2018, 17:55:15
I've only played through 4 Stages so far because lolwork but so far it's fun. I'd say it plays better than 8, but might be inferior in stage design. I'll have a better opinion when I've played for more than an hour...
117  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 1 October 2018, 21:00:16
Honestly, a 7.5 isn't even bad. People seem to view anything under an 8/10 as awful or unplayable for some reason though...
118  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 27 September 2018, 06:58:26
Rapid Fire in 11 is super broken on Newcomer since you don't have a limit to how many shots you can have on screen. It's kinda fun.
119  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: The Potential of Mega Man X9 on: 26 September 2018, 05:05:58
And they never really bothered to even explain anything about Axl either.

He's been in three games and was the focus of one of them and yet the most we know about him we learn within the first five minutes of X7... he can copy Reploids, and he was with Red Alert. That's really about it.

Then X8 adds him being the prototype for New Generation Reploids... but that's about it.

Due to Axl's ending in X8, it would seem likely a future X game will revolve around him again. Though that could always be a red herring and Sigma could just come back again.
120  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 23 September 2018, 01:15:57
Build the game for Mega Man, and then just let Proto Man and Bass break everything with their abilities.

Proto Man should have a shield ram dash instead of sliding, and Bass should have his double jumps back, yeah.

Roll could be added too, and use a melee weapon like in Powered Up except faster and more combo friendly like Zero.
121  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 22 September 2018, 04:10:06
Can't wait to find out what it is on the 2nd, as well as the missing $30 worth of DLC to fill the price point out.

The sad part is how this is basically guaranteed. But at the very least the main game itself should be fun overall.

I forget to use the gears, but a lot of my deaths probably could've been avoided by using them...
122  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 20 September 2018, 07:00:54
And the last Robot Master is Acid Man. Now we know them all.

Mega Man 11 is so close... hoping the Final Stages are interesting.
123  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 17 September 2018, 01:31:37
Newcomer is fine, honestly. It doesn't change the stage design at all, unlike Easy Mode in Mega Man 10. Aside from Beat saving you from pits and taking less/dealing more damage, it's the same game.

Personally, I'm going to play Casual so I can take my time and enjoy the game instead of getting frustrated. I'd rather save my normal run once I know everything the game is going to throw at me. Besides, I'm playing it on both PS4 and Switch so I'll do one Casual run and then a Normal run.
124  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 14 September 2018, 16:48:04
I was only getting the amiibo for collecting purposes anyway, I've never been a fan of locking content behind amiibos.
125  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 8 September 2018, 02:11:26
I ended up switching the Gear buttons with weapon switching because I don't like using ZL and ZR for switching weapons at all... and I did have Slide mapped to A like the Complete Works games, though I never used it, so maybe I'll map Rush Coil to it and then have X be Rapid Fire...
126  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 7 September 2018, 23:28:49
I think my biggest disappointment is the music being kinda bland. Control wise the game seems fine... aside from some possible input lag, at least on Switch. I'll have to try out the demo on PS4 to see if it runs better or not.

Either way, I'll probably give up and play Casual mode in the full game because I don't have enough time to be replaying whole levels because of a game over anymore. Especially since the levels are rather long.

Also... Bounce Man is known as Rubber Man in Japan... I think it's safe to assume why they changed the name.

Posted on: September 07, 2018, 01:40:15 PM

So, Casual in the West is Advanced in Japan... so Casual is actually Normal and Normal is actually Hard. No wonder enemies hit for a #####load when I played it.

Casual it is for me then...
127  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 7 September 2018, 04:03:13
I got a game over twice, one near the end of the level, and second I got to Block Man with no health and no lives... went down to casual and then beat it. Thankfully casual seems to only lessen how much damage you take and doesn't change the stage design.

Overall, it seems fun. I'm a bit tired of games having lives systems though.
128  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 7 September 2018, 01:19:11
Demo is out on Switch now, PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow.

Also, Bounce Man.
129  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 6 September 2018, 22:12:51
6 has better gameplay than 4 and 5, but it still has a lot of flaws kept from BN4 and 5 and overall the story itself really takes a nosedive to try to shoehorn in things that no one bothered to mention ever before...
130  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 6 September 2018, 15:24:26
Being able to play BN1-3 on Switch would be great. If the collection happened it would be sweet if they kept the multiplayer in it as well. I doubt they would go through the trouble of adding online battles but at least local would be neat.
131  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 4 September 2018, 16:07:27
In Japan Impact Man is known as Pile Man. Which explains why his move is called Pile Driver...
132  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 31 August 2018, 17:40:16
Impact Man Trailer
133  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 31 August 2018, 17:39:16
I did, actually.

Beat it with all three, fully upgraded. Even saved every Reploid during one playthrough.

...though that may be proof of my insanity...
134  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 31 August 2018, 02:11:48
I honestly didn't mind replaying X7, even though I was really not looking forward to it. Its awful, yeah, but it's not even close to being the worst game I've ever played.

It's still the worst X game, but it isn't nearly as bad as I remembered.
135  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Dragonball FighterZ on: 16 August 2018, 19:32:53
Yeah, not sure why they haven't made a wireless version yet, ever since Brawl I've been reluctant in using a GameCube controller because I always feel like someone's gonna knock the console down pulling or tripping on the cable.

And I guess the closest we can get to wireless is buying a wavebird but those are expensive from what I remember... and you STILL need the adapter too.
136  MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Ask Doctor Wily on: 15 August 2018, 22:50:40
I asked him if he liked the names "Serges" and "Isoc" but he never answered me. Oh well.
137  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: my birthday! on: 13 August 2018, 23:43:04
I did not know you can put your own spoiler warning in the box! Good to know for later.

Also, Happy Early Birthday!
138  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Dragonball FighterZ on: 12 August 2018, 20:52:45
No idea, I imported one of the ones they made around when Smash Wii U was coming out, so I haven't needed a new GameCube controller in a while. I would assume they'll make more quality first party ones closer to Ultimate's release, I hope.

I got an adapter preordered as well, since I missed out on it when it came out during the Wii U era.

While I don't like using a GameCube controller for Smash, some of my friends do or might so might as well have all options...

And yes, the DS4 Touchpad is crap. For me its a glorified and oversized Select button. I don't think I've ever used it for touch or swipe purposes ever unless it was forced.
139  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Mega Man 11 on: 12 August 2018, 04:32:19
I don't recall there being any official announcement of the demo, so it probably just leaked for Xbox only so far and they'll announce the demo all platforms once they want to officially announce it. At least I would assume...
140  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 12 August 2018, 02:14:02
I mistook Ray Splasher as Splash Ray from X7 and was like "why would that be a rapid fire weapon? Neon Tiger's is bet- oh."

I would assume X's Nova Strike would be an instant KO but be easy to dodge if done carelessly.
141  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 11 August 2018, 23:15:35
He doesn't, but he may very well be. His special weappns would have to altered to X series weapons at least, and then he'd be a taller Mega Man clone with more power probably.

Metal Blade => Boomerang Cutter
Rush Coil => Upward Air Dash
Crash Bomb => Ho(r)ming Torpedo
Leaf Shield => Yammar Option

Personally, I would prefer Proto Man as an echo of Mega Man as he does play similarly but slightly different from Mega Man in 9 and 10.
142  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Dragonball FighterZ on: 11 August 2018, 00:40:42
I think the older Pro controllers have that issue, I have a Splatoon 2 one that still has some minor input issues... but I remembering reading the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 one fixed the d-pad, so I might just have to get a new one later.

Personally I really like the DS4, though. Only issues I ever had with that are the touchpad acting up because my hand slightly brushed it. I'm glad most games don't force its use or have an option to disable it at least. I think in GTA V I kept accidentally swapping weapons randomly because of it.
143  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 10 August 2018, 23:40:22
Since Chrom is an Echo fighter of Roy, but has one of Ike's moves (his Up B, Aether), its very possible for Dixie to be an Echo fighter who is still technically unique from Diddy or DK because she borrows certain things instead of one full moveset.
144  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 9 August 2018, 16:09:46
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Roll a clone of Mega Man in Marvel Vs. Capcom? I know she was different in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, but they might use MvC as a reason to make her an echo fighter of Mega Man. I'd be fine with that.
145  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Dragonball FighterZ on: 8 August 2018, 22:23:37
I'm okay with the Dreamcast controller, but the Duke is a bit much. I was fine with the smaller controller that came out later. But I also have small hands myself, so that might be why.
146  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 8 August 2018, 22:22:17
I think more 3rd parties from the same series would just be echo fighters, so the closest would be Proto Man or Bass. And yeah, they're in Mega Man's Final Smash but they can easily be removed when they're being played.

People are expecting Shadow to be Sonic's echo fighter, so maybe we'll one for Mega Man too. Though while I would love to have X playable, he's probably unlikely.

Still, I really thought Zero was being confirmed as playable when he showed up and spoke. Such a tease, like Bomberman.
147  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate on: 8 August 2018, 17:44:14
When I saw Zero I thought he was playable. His animation looked like a regular fighter, haha.

But holy ##### this game's roster is amazing. There's only maybe like a handful a characters I would possibly add at this point.

Now all they need to do is announce a Story Mode or Adventure type mode and I'd probably never play an older Smash game again.
148  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 7 August 2018, 17:59:05
To be fair with that black armor he does look like a knockoff of Zero, much in the same way dollar stores will have Chinese action figures of Special Man and RobertCop. So "Zello" makes some sense.

Heh, it also probably doesn't help that his mugshot is reversed, so he has a backwards Z on his shoulderpad.
149  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 5 August 2018, 21:11:47
Zello is not pleased.

Though, while X5 had typo fixes and such, its script is still pretty bad too. Especially the dialogue before the X vs Zero fight. Or Sigma with his "hee hee hee the strongest Reploid, you are" nonsense.
150  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 on: 4 August 2018, 22:00:06
Dynamo knows how bad X6 is.
