Clarification: Tablet monitors are for drawing. They're the #####. They don't work or act at all like tablet computers, which I am not getting right now.
But yea a Nexus 10 would probably be really dope for that.

Beer smells and tastes like a liquid tapped from under Deus' tunic. IIIHEAVENLYI don't love tequila though. But I can have it in a PINCH. I'm imaging the following:
"Hey... Hey man. Do... Do you... You... Do you still love me, man? Do you love me? Because I love you. I love you so much. We're like. Best friends. Significence. Significent friends. Do you love me? Do you even like me? You stupid ####. After all I've done. Do you even... ####!"
Not far off, except make the endless question ring even LESS interesting to me.

I agree with some of your points.
The big deal is that it is just about as good as any other games of this type and it's FREE TO PLAY. Fair. I hoped to lose myself in it, but every top-down action RPG has failed to grab me. Including Bastion. I don't really know why, but I guess it's because either I don't give them enough of my time for them to do so (in which case I tell myself I'll come back to it later and never do) or that it's just difficult for me to get into new things in general these days.
I mean, I say that looking over all of the games I own which haven't been finished.
Agreed.

We do two monitors at work, some are tablet monitors. It's great.
I'm 'bout to have a laptop-tablet monitor thing going on at home. Well excited.

I drink a lot less these days than I did, which you might well remember from drunken postings and photos. I still do it pretty regularly, I just don't have as much anymore. Getting drunk actually gets really old really fast, though I was completely obliterated on my 2012 birthday.
I try to drink less beer in general and opt for mixed drinks or other hard stuff just because I'm working out a lot and trying to watch what I take in, but I just love beer. It's pretty tough since all my friends want beer, specifically beer, like all the time.
I also just end up being the driver a lot cause I'm one of the first of us to buy a car. Hanging out sober when a bunch of people get completely pissed starts out kind of fun, but gets so tiring. Being asked the same insignificant question a bunch of times per night will do that.

Yep.
Basically I think X2, X3, and X5 are fairly awful designs for him, in my opinion, and I'm even gonna talk about the weird choices they made in X7 and X8 because it's redundant.
X1 is the most solid design and actually well crafted.
X6 sort of was a variation on that, just more scruffy looking.
X4 is OK. The scythe is kinda cool but his shoulder pads make him look like a reject from a Judge Dredd comic... Actually, I kinda like that.

I'm so. Damn. Sick. Of these types of games. That's not a criticism on anyone who plays them or even the game itself, I'm just surprised that so many versions of the same ##### come out. I had a ex-friend (not because of games) flip his #####ing nut over Guild Wars 2 and I truly just don't ge tit. At face value I can't see why this is any different from any other game in it's type and I'm not really gleaning anything from your posts. Maybe it's the item trading thing? I don't know. I actually just went to the game's FAQ and they try to broach this subject; 8. What makes Path of Exile different from other games in the Action RPG genre? Countless things make Path of Exile different, but here is a short list of the ones we feel most set us apart.
-A gritty dark fantasy setting, supporting a hostile cutthroat atmosphere. Free to play on online servers with persistent character storage in a secure economy.
-A unique active skill system that will allow any class to use any skills in the game and augment/combine them how they see fit.
-A haunting fixed-perspective 3D game world, constructed with incredible attention to detail.
-Deep passive skill system that eschews the mere allocation of stat points when levels are gained
-Incredibly complex and sophisticated item system with literally unlimited possibilities.
-A random generation system for monster loot that is dynamic and tremendously exciting.
I don't really much that's unique here. ANYWAY this is just a rant on the whole genre and isn't specific, this thread just reminded me. It's just something with fantasy action RPGs (at least that I've seen) these days where they are all just the same stuff with an extremely thin attempt at a new look. Side beef: The word "gritty" is well overused in gaming these days. It's as bad as the word "epic".

|

The original Megaman X is one of the most perfectly designed games of all time. No question. Definitely my favourite, with shout outs to X2-X5 for being good too. X5 isn't as good as 2-4 but it has it's moments so I left it in.
I liked Command Mission a LOT when it was out, but like most people who liked it at that time I don't want to play it ever again. But I keep it on my shelf, of course. It was basically FFX's gameplay with an MMX-ish skin, and that skin is the only thing that really kept me there, since I hated Final Fantasy X.
I guess my least favourite would have to be X7, which I never owned. It's not even just the introduction of Axl, or the bad gameplay. It's that it really marked the beginning of the downfall of MM across the board for me. It was X7 and then BN4 right after each other, it was a rough time.

I've been playing a lot of APB: Reloaded on Steam and I suggest it anyone who likes madly competitive games, sandbox games, and third-person shooters. It's like... You can pick from Criminals (which are basically anarchists) and Enforcers (citizen police force) in a city called San Paro and you do missions against each other. It's got more customization than any Saint's Row or GTA game and it's almost 100% skill-based, instead of "who's got the better gear".
It's free to play, with optional premium accounts you gotta pay for. If anyone wants to try it out lemme know and we can ride together, I have a crim and an enf but mostly I play with the Enforcer character.
Other games I have on the go right now;
3DS Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor: Overclocked Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! Harvest Moon: Tale Of Two Towns
DS Chrono Trigger Ghost Trick Sim City Creator
GBA Metroid Zero Mission

I disagree with John on the "this one is a doozy" tip. I like when comedians let us know they are in on it. Meaning, I like when it's all of us in this together. When that divide is removed, we're all hanging out and having a good time. Like the "I don't know why he doesn't have a German accent anymore" thing. Maybe just work on that style of banter a bit I guess.
But I also like the jokes behind the jokes you hear more, the hidden, silent, you-gotta-think-about-the-story jokes. Also weird ways of saying words and sentences (for instance I enjoyed when you said "Which requires some effort!" more the audience, I think), which is probably what I like about Attell and Maria Bamford's acts.
I'm not typical though because I spend a lot of time just analyzing stand-up when I'm watching it (whether live or on tv/dvd/etc) and listening to comedians talk about stand-up in a similar way, even though I'm not capable of actually doing stand-up myself.
By the way, your stand-up is improving at an alarming rate. Plus I love short jokes, for obvious reasons.
Anyway; I just want to say I genuinely loved Middleman and Overprotective Father. Laughed out loud in my living room, they were both funny and fresh and I find it hard to find short comedies online where I don't see all the laughs coming. I think you guys know by now I wouldn't just say that if I didn't actually mean it.
I didn't mention the others not because I didn't find them funny, I definitely laughed, but because they didn't stand out as much to me. Cinematic Pans to a Nightstand lost points because you neglected to put on your seatbelt, and that is just NOT. COOL. BUD.

Congrats on the paper, man!
Currently reading: Starman Omnibus vol.1, Cinderella: Fables Are Forever (Fables spinoff), Rocketeer, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing vol. 1, Locke & Key vol. 1, Essential Power Man and Iron Fist.
Just finished: Saga vol.1, bunch of Avengers stuff from the past few months. Not sure if I'll be reading anything from Marvel NOW! after this. Kind of sick of most superhero books that are coming out right now.
Currently hyping: Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales).
Upcoming: Spidermen, and more of the above, I'm sure.

Uhhhm. I'll be on here and there. I really can't make any promises, I know I drifted off in college and I thought my life would get less busy when I finished it, but it's still all over. I love this place with all my heart though, so I'll always pop out of the mist once in a while. What kind of ninjaman man would I otherwise?
I have a like-hate relationship with social media.
I'm OK with smart phones, but I used to think they were superfluous. But like I said, I'm all over my city all the time and my laptop doesn't follow, so the phone helps a bit.

You've improved a lot as an artist since I talked with you last, but those breasts do seem to be composed of molasses entirely.
Anyway it would be cool to see an updated version of one of those art progression things you did earlier. It interests me where people have huge leaps and then stagnate for a while.
Also this made me laugh;

I'm not arguing your point AT ALL, Speed, but Nicki Minaj is an incredible rapper. I'm not even a fan or anything really, I'm just saying she has a lot of skill/talent. That's evident whether rap is your thing or not, but I guess it's also just opinion.
But I generally am agreeing with what you're saying.
And I'm with Fatso (I'm still uncomfortable with that name) on the way we use certain labels. I can't stand the "indie" label anymore since it's as vague as fibromyalgia and about as painful. "Modern" makes no real sense, and "contemporary" is a different for every single person.
