I saw Avatar in 3-D last night. Really, really awesome. About 20 minutes too long, but altogether wonderful. $220 million well spent.
702  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 17 December 2009, 18:17:34
I'm now playing Jurassic: The Hunted. Fun budget title, nothing more.

Last night before I went to sleep, I got to punch not one, not two, but THREE raptors IN THE #####ING FACE!

I already wished you a happy birthday on Facebook, but I'll say it again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DUMKOFF!
705  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Easy Money withdraw and Money Transfer in any where from Moneybookers send on: 12 December 2009, 21:12:53
Man, it must be nice to be able to get paid for something you consider to be a hobby.
706  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 12 December 2009, 07:46:42
I beat Borderlands the other day. Not a fan of the lack of an ending, but I'm probably going to finish doing all of the jobs before I move on to another game, which will probably be Assassin's Creed II or The Saboteur. And then once the kids go home for Christmas break, I'll get my copy of Jurassic: The Hunted back from one of my student workers.

And then I get to punch a raptor IN THE MOTHER#####ING FACE!

If that alone isn't worth $40, I don't know what is.

Edge will never have to take it in the butt ever again!

For money, anyway.
709  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 12 December 2009, 00:41:44
I'm praying that we get a freak snowstorm tonight/tomorrow morning. Or my professor's car breaks down. Either one is okay, but not both.
710  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 8 December 2009, 04:46:07
Whatever man, I've got my reasons.
711  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 8 December 2009, 03:13:01
Sure, it starts off happy and ends happy, but there's plenty in between that is downright depressing.

Maybe it was just me.
712  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Easy Money withdraw and Money Transfer in any where from Moneybookers send on: 8 December 2009, 03:11:04
Probably the same amount as those who follow up on random e-mails. It costs next to nothing to send them, so it seems to be a worthwhile form of advertising for some.
713  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 7 December 2009, 06:25:00
It was really good, but it was really depressing.

I started examining my own life as I was watching the movie, and in all honesty...if someone had handed me a gun while I was watching it, I would've blown my brains out.
714  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 6 December 2009, 19:12:03
Steelers vs. Raiders

I haven't seen this many yellow flags thrown for quite some time. Somebody needs to alert the refs that these guys are getting paid to tackle each other, not play two-hand-touch football.
715  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 5 December 2009, 19:34:08
My pants are so tight right now.
716  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 5 December 2009, 19:11:02
SOON SOON

After I bulk up and get some nice sculpted muscles, definitely. I still got some hangy flab skin : (

TITS OR GTFO
717  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 23 November 2009, 00:29:18
That was a bull##### call by the ref on that catch. Absolute #####ing bull#####. Last time I checked, catching a ball with your hands and then landing on the ground with the ball in your hands was a fair catch, not "juggling".
718  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 22 November 2009, 21:08:15
I'm watching the Steelers vs. Chiefs game...and it has gone into overtime.

*sigh*

Steelers better win this.
719  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 21 November 2009, 03:19:24
What did Barnes & Noble do to you?
720  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 21 November 2009, 00:57:16
Barnes & Noble is currently running a 50% off sale on Criterion Collection DVDs, and my brother's library was having a book fair, so I went off to B&N today to get some new movies.

I picked up:

-Charade
-Ikiru
-Tokyo Drifter
-Youth of the Beast

I was thinking about picking up The Red Balloon, but that would be with money I don't have (so no go on that), and Salo: 120 Days of Sodom. But if I picked up Salo, it would've been nothing more than a curiosity that I would have probably only watched once - and hated myself for it.
721  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 14 November 2009, 04:48:37
That's... very nice of them.

Seeing as they usually run $35-60 a pop, yes it is nice of them.
722  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 13 November 2009, 22:31:56
This week has sucked.

-My stupid Wapanese roommate tells me that he's decided to take the whole day off (November 10) from both of his jobs. I had decided to do the same thing weeks ago and never even told him. So I had to put up with his dumb ass all day.

-Picked up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (SWEET!). One hour of gameplay, and my 360 RROD'd (#####!).

-I have class tomorrow morning (Saturday), and this stupid textbook is becoming more and more unreadable. I am going to burn this book when the class is over.
723  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 13 November 2009, 22:25:03
For all of those that care, starting today and apparently running until the end of November (they may cut it shorter, I don't know), Barnes & Noble is selling all Criterion Collection DVDs at 50% off.
724  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 25 October 2009, 23:49:54
I saw Saw VI on Friday. I thought was a lot better than Saw V. The series is getting more and more unlikely, yet it is still pretty well written...but I'm really looking forward to the conclusion of the series. It needs to end, and soon - like, within one or two more movies.
725  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 25 October 2009, 23:42:59
Supposedly if my college gets two more confirmed cases of swine flu, the whole place will be shut down for a week and decontaminated. One week of paid "vacation"! :D

Here's hoping it happens the week of Modern Warfare 2.
726  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 20 October 2009, 12:13:32

728  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 19 October 2009, 22:47:59
Here's the whole article from Ebony about stars in the year 2000

http://books.google.com/books?id=7dgDAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA163&lpg=PA163&dq=ebony+potraits+of+the+stars+what+they+may+look+like+in+2000&source=bl&ots=w8VFy8NC5b&sig=bYOfyayAr5h3F5h5nZtRgWaagMw&hl=en&ei=zNzcStqOAo3Q8Qbas623BQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAoQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=&f=false

I like how Emmanuel Lewis is in there. The whole article itself is an interesting read...not the "What will they look like part", but the part dealing with a survey among its readers. Nearly everyone agreed that there would be little to no chance of having a black president or vice president by 2000 (honestly, I thought we'd have a black vice president before a black president) - who would've guessed 8 years later we'd have Barack "C-C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER" Obama in office?
729  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What Game AREN'T you playing? on: 19 October 2009, 05:52:16
And Infamous is decent, cruddy aiming though.

Oooh yeah, I want to play that too.
730  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What Game AREN'T you playing? on: 19 October 2009, 05:16:35
For the time being, just about any game that's out on the PlayStation 3 or Wii and not on the Xbox 360.

I'm not a console fanboy - I was originally planning on getting a Wii before I decided to get the 360. I've just got so many damn games for the Xbox 360 (according to IGN, I have 166) that I don't have time for other consoles.

For the Wii, I would like to be playing The Conduit, Madworld, and the various Super Mario and Zelda games. Oh, and that Epic Mickey game? Hell yeah.

For the PlayStation 3, I'd like to be playing the Uncharted and Uncharted 2, God of War 3 (when it comes out) and the Resistance games.
731  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 18 October 2009, 20:37:09
I'm playing Assassin's Creed now. The graphics are beautiful and the plot is oddly intriguing.

The game is a nice change of pace for me; I'm no longer the one-man army that I'm so used to being, and I have to constantly be stealthy and watch my ass. Coincidentally, those same reasons as to why it's a nice change of pace are also the reasons why I'm hating this game.
732  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 17 October 2009, 18:20:14
That was awesome as all hell.
733  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 17 October 2009, 17:36:16
I beat Gun the other day. If you want ALL of the achievements, you have to play the game four times. ##### that noise, especially with the final boss.

I'm either going to focus on Assassin's Creed or Brutal Legend.
734  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Stuff thread! on: 16 October 2009, 11:30:29
Ever look at someone and think, "I totally want to be best friends with that guy/girl"? Yeah, I feel that way about the dude with the Frosted Flakes box around his neck.

738  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Avatars! on: 11 October 2009, 23:03:33
I'm not a fan of it either; I like the word "Wapanese" instead, because then it causes white anime fanboys to get all butthurt and yell "YOU'RE RACIST!"
739  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 11 October 2009, 22:46:48
Third Watch was a great show. My only problem with it was that as the show went on, it became more of a cop show than firemen/EMT/police.

I'm watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play against the Detroit Lions. Currently the Steelers are winning (YAY!), but I will be super-pissed if they lose to the Lions.

Update: Made spanish rice and played Gun. Almost typed "I made gun and played spanish rice".

Hey,

While working on some stuff for my class that started two hours ago, I started thinking about this old game I used to play on my Macintosh back in the day. It was based on Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy", and you had to visit 20 planets within 1000 years and get them to join your empire before civilization completely crumbled. Very early RTS game, although I got to be pretty good at it when I was a kid.

Does anyone know the name of it? It was something like "Galactic Empire" or "Galactic Conquest", but I can't find any information on it. I'd love to play that game again...

it's all quick and dirty.

That's what she said!

In all seriousness, I like it. It looks like an MS Paint version of Sin City.
