I'm not gonna lie - I bought a MS points card the other day and I've blown a good amount of it on stuff for my avatar...who is now wearing a Green Lantern t-shirt and is playing with a Voltron toy.
I'm a little annoyed with myself, because I forgot that Section 8: Prejudice existed, so I'll probably just pick up Ms. Spolsion Man.

I learned how to enjoy movies more: Go see superhero and action movies and expect pointless action movies with good fight scenes.
Nothing fits that criteria like Crank though.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Crank: High Voltage was the best 90 minutes I've ever spent in a movie theater.

X was at the top of both the US and Japanese polls, which makes the lie a joke. I mean, I don't know what the real reason was, but when you have solid evidence Mega Man was in fact, in the top 2% of the vote, don't say he wasn't high in the polls as a reason.
It's Capcom. They don't need a reason to act like a bunch of twats. They blamed the fanbase for Dark Void and Lost Planet 2 not doing well.

For anyone who doesn't feel like picking up individual issues, the latest issue of Previews shows that there will be a graphic novel collecting (what I assume is) issues 1-4. Posted on: July 10, 2011, 09:35:09 AM
In issue #3, they used lyrics for The Megas (a Mega Man cover band) "Message from Dr. Light"!

I can wait for a collection. I still buy some comics in issue format but I'm cutting it out. I just end up putting them in a shortbox having read them once, and never really looking at them again regardless of much I liked them. Collections can be shelved and re-read, plus are much more organized.
That's what I've been doing. Only problem is that thanks to the great deals I usually get, I'm in need of a new bookshelf.

The only thing that would make WhiteShadow's house any cooler would be if there was some way that the shell could close up at night to protect against zombies.

Hooray! It's time for "Holy Fruits, Let's See What Speed Bought Today!" Brightest Day #24 - Why the crap not? They brought in MOTHER#####ING SWAMP THING! Action Comics #900 - Superman disowns America! Faux News commentators throw a #####fit! Future Foundation #1 2nd printing - Nifty homage to Fantastic Four #1 Venom #2 Future Foundation #2 The Mighty Thor Saga - How else do you promote an upcoming movie but with a NIFTY free comic? Posted on: April 30, 2011, 06:32:17 PM
I picked up Future Foundation #3. That issue was lacking, but it's building up to something big.

Apparently the comic is selling pretty well - according to the guy at Comics on the Green, Archie Comics may have sold out on the first run.
I got my hands on it, thanks to having a "subscription" at another shop. I was impressed by the art - story...not so much. Then again, I've played/heard/read/seen it a million times.

My girlfriend and I hit up two stores - nice haul, although I forgot to pick up the free Archie comic. Not sure why, but even though I don't really like Archie, I like picking it up every once in a while just to see what's going on.

I've got a "subscription" to it at my local comic book store, although he won't be able to get me the variant covers. May have to eBay for them all, or see if the comic store up in Scranton could get them and one of my professor friends just picks them up for me.

It's cool, I found it. I downloaded a cartographer program, placed a #####-ton of torches and figured out where I was. It was a good thing I stopped and did that, because I was way, way off course. If I'd kept wandering, maybe I would've ended up at the Far Lands.

If I had a computer good enough for it, I'd be checking out the Star Trek MMO.
Something I'm curious about with the DC Universe MMO - can you just be a member of the Green Lantern Corps if you want to?

Since I couldn't fall asleep, I read Future Foundation #1, Venom #1, and Star Trek: Captain's Log - Captain Harriman.
Both FF and Venom have the potential to be pretty interesting series; especially with the twist at the end of FF #1.
I enjoyed the Captain Harriman comic, but I felt that it was too short. Definitely did some work to redeem the character and helped get inside the character's head. I highly doubt that they'll make any new comics featuring that character; I think IDW had shipped a ton of those out to comic book shops to get rid of them, as it was being sold as new even though it was published in April 2010.

I'm almost done with it; I wish that there was more than four issues to the series. I'd love it if Marvel gave the company that made "Robot" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_%28film%29) $40-50 million and have them make a Spider-Man India flick. It could be pretty sweet. Posted on: March 15, 2011, 07:12:57 PM
I picked up various graphic novels yesterday: Moon Knight: God & Country Spider-Man: Election Day Squadron Supreme: The Pre-War Years Squadron Supreme: Power to the People Squadron Supreme: Bright Shining Lies Star Trek: Debt of Honor Wolverine: Origins - Seven the Hard Way I also picked up: The Amazing Spider-Man #656 Power Girl #22 I mean, seriously, what's not to like? It's Superman and Power Girl beating up on dinosaurs? Star Trek: Captain's Log - Harriman I've always found the character of Captain Harriman from Star Trek: Generations to be an interesting character, so I was looking forward to this comic. Future Foundation (which replaces the Fantastic Four) #1 came out today. Anybody get it? Posted on: March 26,2011, 3:12:00 PM
I picked up Future Foundation #1 today; pretty interesting twist at the end. I want to get the other variant covers later on. I also picked up: Superman #709 This issue is special to me, because it makes a fun reference to the Super Dictionary - a kid's dictionary from the 1970s featuring various DC Comics characters. The backstory in this issue makes the "Lex Luthor stole forty cakes" thing (which at this point is considered a meme) canon. Aaaaaaaaand I also picked up Venom #1

As far as I know, he hasn't posted here in years unless he went under another name. He used to have the AIM screen name of "masterteisel", which I haven't seen online for quite some time.

Yesterday I won two movie contests in the last 15 minutes of my workday. First, I found out I won a "Take Me Home Tonight" theatrical poster. Second, I won two tickets to go see Red State with Kevin Smith at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC. This Saturday.
The worst part is, I'm too #####ing broke to go, so I'm trying to find someone to take these tickets off my hands.

I finally beat Bulletstorm's single-player campaign. Holy damn...I never thought the game would end. I love me some FPS, but they really dragged out the story more than they needed to and without a lot of variation.

My brother, my girlfriend, and I saw True Grit on Christmas Day. Excellent film; Jeff Bridges' performance is definitely better than John Wayne's. Posted on: December 29, 2010, 02:16:23 PM
I'm writing a paper for my film class on the changes in American comedy pre-1945, mainly looking at Charlie Chaplin and the Marx brothers. So far today I've watched The Gold Rush and Animal Crackers. I may have to watch another Marx brothers film, a later non-Paramount Pictures one, because Animal Crackers is too close to the invention of sound in films, and I need to see if they switched their act up any once they went to another studio.
