Second time I've heard you say that.
I still got about 70 minutes left.
I'll start the year with either Guitar Hero or Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann.

Very odd indeed.

My New Year started with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, in the 15th episode, where Simon
jams his little drill key into Lord Genome's chest, exactly at midnight
Not a bad start.

I just realized that my New Year was entirely uneventful.

In other words, I did nothing noteworthy.  Yay, me. -_-

I'm back. I had an interesting 10-day cruise. I met my doppelganger, too. I'd elaborate but it would take way too long to explain and none of you would care.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Slugkid on 3 January 2008, 02:54:22
I was going to ask...Anyways, what's doppelganger?

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Mikero on 3 January 2008, 02:57:56
Dop·pel·gäng·er
–noun
a ghostly double or counterpart of a living person

I'm back. I had an interesting 10-day cruise. I met my doppelganger, too. I'd elaborate but it would take way too long to explain and none of you would care.

Did you defeat him? I had a doppelganger in my class this semester and his name was also Mike C. I have defeated him, as he reportedly has dropped the program.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Jakey on 3 January 2008, 03:54:56
There was a senior in my highschool that had the same first and last name as me.  People kept asking if we were brothers.

Now let's think about this for a second.

What parent, in their right state of mind, would name not one, but TWO of their children THE SAME FREAKING NAME

Anyways, long story short, I killed him.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Mikero on 3 January 2008, 03:56:47
I'd name other people's children with the same name.

Mikey, when're we bringing back the rapquest?  I'm questin', man, I'm questin'.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Mikero on 3 January 2008, 04:04:40
I've been thinking about for a while. I wrote like only one decent rap all summer though and if I look back I'll probably hate it. I've wanted to write new stuff and I've had a lot of material I've wanted to go on about but I haven't really had time to actually do it.

And I don't freestyle 'cause my style ain't free.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Jakey on 3 January 2008, 04:07:58
Freestyle's for bustas.

I haven't written anything yet, but I do have these Madlib and J Dilla CD's that I've been rockin for a couple months now, and I can feel something beastin just percolating at the surface.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Mikero on 3 January 2008, 04:14:10
Okay. If I can finish this painting type thing before the week's done, I'll write something new. Or maybe I'll write at work if I can find time.

My grandma had 2 brothers called John.  Seriously.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: ASR on 3 January 2008, 04:54:11
Any idea why, though? Adoption makes sense, but I can't possibly understand giving two of your children the same name.

As for my doppelganger... no, didn't defeat... her. Admittedly, she was only a NEAR-doppelganger, but close enough to be worth mentioning.
Her name was Alex Hawkins, whilst mine is Alec Robbins. Same age, pretty much the same size, her younger sister is the same age as my younger brother, and her cabin was right across the hall.

It was spooky.

Title: Re: Happy New Year, MMM!
Post by: Mikero on 3 January 2008, 05:00:25
Did she LOOK like you though? Cause...

Anyway my doppelganger from class looked like me. Which was surprisingly extremely annoying.

And I'm spaced enough to think Jon and John would be funny but I'm not spaced enough to actually do it.

I just noticed that Chaos was all "who does!" and that doesn't work with what I actually said, but I get what he was going for.

And also, no thanks. They proved on Miami Ink that men have more direction than women when the guy was getting a tattoo and talking about how he had a sex change from being a woman. And trust me, you could NOT tell.

I used to think it was the coolest thing ever when she turned into liquid metal goop.

Remember the episode where she had an evil version of herself come into existence, and then it locked her in some underground room or something? It was a 2-part episode of possibly a TV-movie, and I loved it.

It's worth mentioning that she made three appearances in Alex Mack, something I just coincidentally learned from the Wikipedia article.

Also, it reminded me of 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd. I literally 100% forgot about that show. I don't remember if it was actually good, but I liked it.

Ah yes, 2008. The year when a ##### load of neat stuff comes out.

Like the Iron Man movie (Marvel made it on it's own, no Fox or Sony to muck it up, looks promising), The Dark knight comes out (Looks promising), the new Hellboy movie, Super Smash Bros, Brawl, No More Heroes, Dan Slott writing Spider-Man...

It's going to be a good year.

Yeah, that's what it looks like doesn't it? In reality me and Lunche are some kind of strange ray on a quadratic equation divided by 'X' squared. It's like Tom and Jerry. I don't know how I know, I just know that I know. You know? I feel like we're are pals or something. We're friendly enough that Lunche knows he can use me as comical relief in MMM related works of fiction without me getting mad. That's friendship, right?
You know what I'm saying? In a way Lunche helped me carve out my own space on MMM, so now even newbish people who weren't around before I was banned last time know I'm the crazy, fun guy or something. You know, I owe him a little for giving me that last push into the community after a year or two of just being an awkward bystander on the old board. I mean if it wasn't for Lunche people like WIND wouldn't know to call me names that have the word 'muffin' in it, even though I've been trying to wash myself clean of any comparison to that certain delicious baked good. It's like that one time on Yu-Gi-Oh, the episode where they win at a children's card game by believing in themselves. Believing in each other as they believed in themselves believing in others. I'd continue this explanation by referencing Gurren Lagann but that would make Mike mad. So, that's all I'm going to say about me and Lunche. Understand?

Also, I'm ridiculously unimpressed with the ending of One More Day.

Yeah, even before One More Day came out, you could tell it was going to be horrible. And Quesada's art doesn't help at all. I REALLY just want to stop reading Spider-Man all together... But I can't pass up Slott.

Yeah, that's what it looks like doesn't it? In reality me and Lunche are some kind of strange ray on a quadratic equation divided by 'X' squared. It's like Tom and Jerry. Aside from the nonsense, it's true. It's very easy to use Sano as comic relief, as I can't take him seriously, though that's not necessarily a bad thing.

You know what I'm saying? In a way Lunche helped me carve out my own space on MMM, so now even newbish people who weren't around before I was banned last time know I'm the crazy, fun guy or something.

They even coin terms as "Pullin' a Sano!".

If they don't, they should.

I actually have nothing to do with equating you to muffins in modern times. Just ruining comic jams and anything fun.

You see a black sillouette of Yugi getting stabbed by Peten. The knife goes right through him. "Blood Lust Slash".

Oh, right, how could I forget?

I editted the post.

Anyway, my memory wasn't exact but I was close.

I advise only watching that scene though. Seriously. The whole movie is a horrid abomination. You'll regret it.

Wasn't there a part where that big muscley naked guy grabs Kaiba by the head?

That was awesome, and gay.

I remember watching the movie on my digital box thingy, only 'cause I had nothing to do that day, all I remember is some sphinx guardian thingy attacking kaiba, and the blue eyes white jet

Blue eyes shining white dragon was pretty snazzy though.

Too many adjectives in that name. And Yu-Gi-Oh sucks.

Get back to us when he gets a fetish for large white dragons, cards, and owns his own company with his name on it.

You forgot bad outfits, but that's everyone on those shows and there's NO reason for it at all.

I use that term all the time, heh.

I agree. One More Day was about 2% more interesting than Back In Black. But without the cool looking black costume, which they never explained why he stopped using it since it was a symbol.

I actually liked the whole Punisher Spider thing for a few minutes.

I never liked Mephisto.

Same. And now the whole freaking universe is messed. Like I don't understand how certain books are going to go with this like New Avengers. It's a dumb and useless change that I'm hoping is pretty temporary. And I really hope Peter isn't all doe-eyed and losery again, we have Tobey Maguire for that it doesn't need to happen in the book.

I hate Tobey McGuire has Spider-Man.

And from the preview I've seen, he's back to having no job, and living with his aunt.

OH I'M SO GLAD THE OLD WOMAN LIVED, THEN.

I don't read previews, they usually spoil the ending of the story that's currently running. I don't know if even want Spider-Man 3 times a month.

Yeah, despite my love for Slott's work, I refuse to pick up Amazing Spider-Man, until they retcon this retcon when Quesada steps down.

Luckily for me, I don't have to pay to read it. So I'll continue reading although I'm sure it'll suck.
