Well, Susan Boyle is about 5000 pounds of fail.

Except she's a good singer.

I'm not going to say I'm OMG SO AMAZED unlike the entire Polish army of the Second World War [/sarcasm], but she can sing well. And that's pretty duh. I didn't need that Simon Cowell dude to know it, either, but he definitely helped validate my opinion.

I saw one that was amusing, it said "Meet Asian Singles" and there was a fat guy with glasses photoshopped holding some "asian" model.
1103  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 16 June 2009, 23:48:47
And yeah, Fallout 3 is pretty cool once you get past the initial portion where it's hard to do anything, which for me took up the whole week I had rented the game for. I'm eager to play it again though, like for real.

It was sort of the same for me. When I first played I died a lot. When I restarted in very hard mode I was dropping raiders with a 10mm pistol and a baseball bat. Which subsequently got me better weapons very quickly.

I did go out of my way to get a certain powerful flaming melee weapon early on, though.
1104  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 16 June 2009, 04:07:42
I'm STILL playing Fallout 3.

I also started a new game on Very Hard but it's not actually Very Hard at all, because I'm better at the game than when I started playing it on normal, I still die a lot less.

It's interesting because the last game I've played with this sort of style, action/fighting-wise, was FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus. (It's not a game I paid for so I didn't mind giving it a try. I didn't finish it.) And despite the fact that it was an absolutely #####ty game. I LIKED that part of it. Going from first to third person and levelling up and such. And this game, with that battle system (plus the VATS) made it a much more enjoyable experience overall.
1105  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 16 June 2009, 03:48:44
I do not like the cone of shame.

It's true that McNinja pages seem to be more abundant with fillery stuff. I guess I don't mind. Though I don't think the humour has changed at all. I still laugh a lot; maybe I'm more easily amused.

I hadn't realized the colourist had changed, but I noticed the colour WAS a lot better in the latest issue. I was pretty impressed. At first I was meh about the colour but I honestly didn't mind the extra effort anyway.

And I like olives a lot more than pickles, which I hate, and mustard, which I hate, but I lump all three in the same category for their "intense" level of taste.

The weirdest thing is cheese whiz. Every once in a while I get a craving for it and then I'm eating it with toast or something and I'm like "... why am I eating this?"

1107  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 15 June 2009, 22:07:19
I liked the newest page today. I was reading "Son, do you know what I'm stopping you for?" in Jay-Z style before I even saw the last panel, and when I did I laughed even harder.

Wait, what? The newest page is issue 14, page 72.

EDIT: Nevermind. Wouldn't have seen that unless you said that. "Current Story" took me to #14.

EDIT: I read that, knew it was coming because you said it, and still burst out laughing.
1108  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Image thread! (try to avoid memes) on: 15 June 2009, 17:44:14
I mean, when I was a wee lad I'd trap flies, I'd kill them, and sometimes I'd try and rip off their wings with tweezers just for fun, but this is just sick.

I lol'd.

Really, I don't like it either. But the guy who made the video had a way of releasing the flies afterwards so that's okay with me. I mean flies are very... um,  pestering pests, I wouldn't mind pissing off one or two of them in return for a bit.

Obviously the "happy flies playing with the plane" is a ridiculous joke, at the very least I can't imagine any intellectual in any field, be it aerodynamics or otherwise, actually seriously believing they're doing the flies a favour.
1109  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 15 June 2009, 17:40:37
The latest issue of Dr. McNinja just finished, for those who don't follow it daily or weekly, I figured they might want to know.

I think it's awesome, not just because of the colour that was introduced in the last issue, but I laughed at a lot of pages. I laughed hard, even.

Was going to post this in the Favourite Webcomic thread but apparently it's locked.
1110  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The Interesting Image thread! (try to avoid memes) on: 15 June 2009, 07:31:08
I wouldn't try it, I doubt it would work. But I don't know, research it a bit. I saw a video of a guy making a plane using a single fly, without gluing the legs, which is supposedly important despite what the picture implies.
1111  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 15 June 2009, 07:00:17
I saw Up just today (Sunday) actually. The villain WAS pretty gray.

I was okay with the tone of the movie. But it was rather strange in that it seemed like a kid's movie made for adults to appreciate, I don't feel like most kids would care for this movie very much. But of course I didn't mind, I liked it because I AM an adult.

I liked A Bug's Life when I was much younger. I didn't see Cars or Ratatouille though. I really wasn't interested in Cars at all, and I am pretty surprised that it's a Pixar movie given their track record in my eyes.

It doesn't happen often because I don't think people report it often. But there are checks that need to be done every half an hour and you can hear WHISPERING all the way from the top row... the only problem is it may be hard to pinpoint who's making the noise. And you have to disrupt a lot of people further to get involved.

I had to deal with a mentally disabled guy making noise. I couldn't even communicate with him. It was ridiculous. He had a supervisor that I eventually found but from then the person complaining about them was still a bitch.
1116  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 12 June 2009, 07:38:17
R?

It's 14A here in Aurora, Ontario. I even checked to make sure it wasn't 18A because I really didn't feel like dealing with underage kids trying to sneak in.

I hate people who talk in theatres. Like, honestly hate them. I don't want to deal with some asshole who won't shut up. I don't WANT to kick them out. And the displeasure of having to deal with them in the first place would make it easier to kick them out if I was actually an asshole who likes ruining things for people but I'm not.

Other than that I don't really know what you're talking about because while Super Mario RPG is a good game it's also not a new release. So... it wouldn't be getting any attention compared to upcoming Mario games.

That's not at all what I meant. I meant that game, being arguably the best side-Mario game of all, actually deserves a sequel more than the others. It has nothing to do with whether or not it's a new release.

Thought you meant "attention" from the fans.

And for the record the only Paper Mario I've really liked was the first one, and the one on Wii really sucked. Like.. A lot. It was fun for about the first level. I only played the first Mario & Luigi and I really liked it, so I don't know where you got the idea that I think all the Mario RPG style games that aren't Super Mario RPG suck. I only said the sequels to Paper Mario suck, but that's in comparison to the original because it was great.

I got the idea when you said they suck compared to Super Mario RPG, which is good to me, but not great. So if something is bad compared to something that's decent, fun, replayable... I guess it's arguable from there but I was thinking negatively.

I'm not sure I want a sequel to Super Mario RPG but I would have liked to see something in a similar vein to it. Actually more like somewhere in-between Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi would be fine by me.

And I don't really think anyone OR their dog thinks the newer Mario RPGs are better than the original Super Mario RPG

Never said that.

Also a misunderstanding.

Mike, we're thinking in terms of platforming Mario games. Games like Paper Mario were always like... on-the-side stuff. Other than that I don't really know what you're talking about because while Super Mario RPG is a good game it's also not a new release. So... it wouldn't be getting any attention compared to upcoming Mario games. And I don't really think anyone OR their dog thinks the newer Mario RPGs are better than the original Super Mario RPG, but I for one have played them all and enjoyed them and I don't know why everyone's so on about how they suck.

Super Mario World 2, I cite.

It's not unheard of, it's just completely unexpected due to it not happening for two consoles straight. And I WELCOME it, kind of... I really just hope it's a GOOD sequel, that's all I can ask for. I don't mind so much that they're reusing the space theme for their next 3D platformer, given that it's also coming SOONER than expected.
1123  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: The "I" is for "amazing" on: 9 June 2009, 04:22:37
Well... dude, you can't see EITHER screen when there's a glare. You can't compare a screen reflecting direct sunlight to one that's not. Maybe if you changed the angle of the DS Lite a bit it'd be easier to see. Similarly, angle the normal DS so that it's reflecting an image of the sun directly into your eyes and then see how hard it is to play.

The DS Lite is better outdoors. When there's a power out in the middle of the night, that's probably the only time the other DS is actually better for your eyes, because the screen is a dim light compared to complete darkness, which has less of an effect like staring at a monitor in a dark room, which, as you know, is bad.

You are so crazy right now.
1124  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: The "I" is for "amazing" on: 9 June 2009, 04:14:27
Everyone has gripes with my signatures.

But I guess that's okay given that this one was made with manic attention-seeking angst.
1125  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: The "I" is for "amazing" on: 9 June 2009, 04:01:22
I must be one of the only few people on the planet that prefer the Old version over the DS Lite anyday. They both have pros and cons, but I prefer having a DS with comfortable buttons and is playable in bright daylight.

You have me completely confused with this statement.

I've always had trouble seeing the screen on my original DS in even mediocre daylight... that is to say, an auditorium with only small windows at the very top, all open, at daytime, with fluorescent lights from way up on a high ceiling. In broad daylight I'd have trouble seeing the screen at all because the light AROUND the DS overpowered the light coming out of the DS. With the DSi, I no longer have this problem.

So to me it looks like you're saying you prefer the old version over the DS Lite, but you prefer the DS Lite because that's the one that's actually playable in broad daylight.

I'm sorry, WHAT? I mean... you can even actually see the colours on the brighter screen the way they were meant to be seen because there's no colour loss caused by a dim screen. You are SO mistaken, honestly just put a DS next to a DS Lite in broad daylight and turn them both on and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I had a dream about being attacked by ghosts in a house I was staying in. My mom kicked out the exorcists early in the morning because she was like "WTF ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING HERE" because we didn't know, and then ghosts. Or some bunch of weird thing. I woke up in the middle of the night to a really wrinkly dog thing. And that was weird. So I got up and my mom was being chased by some demon woman. And the next time I got attacked it was when this door randomly flung open and it was some twitchy image of my brother from his younger years wearing pajamas and crawling at me. His head was twitching and his eyes were moving all over the place. And I grabbed a mop handle and kept smacking him with it. And it took forever. He kept getting closer.

As soon as I got 120 stars and beat Bowser in Mario 64 I shut it off. No point in talking to Yoshi, no point in getting 99 lives if there's nothing else to do.

Is it really necessary to get something for doing 100% that makes you want to continue playing when there's nothing else to do? I'd rather just get an added ending scene or something and let that be it. And when I get nothing at all, it doesn't matter, because obviously the game was good enough for me to want to finish it 100%.

Oh! By the way I've been in pain for weeks because one of my doctors is either retarded or doesn't know what Crohn's Disease is which would be forgiveable if he wasn't a damn doctor.

I DID have to give it a few weeks, before you say anything. Something about giving it time to set in and make sure it's working properly, which it isn't. 380 dollars down the drain; 320 to treat an auto-immune disorder, the rest to negate the treatment.

(Insurance takes 90% off the cost of this drug, it's not covered by OHIP)

I'm going to call tomorrow.

And... #####, I'm sorry, I don't complain much, but I guess I felt like doing so for once. I think of my condition as having a bimonthly period for two weeks and that's not so bad considering it's probably not as bad as having your period anyway. And I deal with that, despite it being costly and that I feel kind of bad for squeezing an insurance company for thousands of dollars every two months which might be a weird thing to feel but I do. This new ##### just makes it much worse though and it's annoying having difficulty working up to par with increased pain and energy deficiency.

Not to mention my mental state in general keeps getting worse.
